Abstract

Listening is the process of making meaning from is heard, and as such, has a critical function for learning. Although students spend a large portion of class time of listening that must be explicity taught. Cartoon film is one of the media can be applied by a teacher as medium in teaching and learning process, especially teaching listening skill. In this study, the writer tried to investigate the cartoon film toward students listening skill for the first year of MA Keterampilan NW Pancor . The method that is used in this study is an experimental because the researcher investigated and analyzed the data. The population of the study is the whole classes of the first year students of MAK NW Pancor taken by claster sampling. Pre test and post test is used to get the data as instrument. The result showed that using the media in teaching and learning process is more effective to increase the students’ motivation and enthusiasm in doing learning process.

Abstract

The aims of this study to find out the effect of fishbowl strategy toward students’s speaking skill ability at the second year students of MA Mu’allimat NW Pancor. Designed as experimental research which the researcher divide the sample into experimental group and control group. Both of the group were given the same test. The test consisted post-test. The population was all the second year students of MA Mu’allimat NW Pancor that consisted of six classes which were 248 students. The sample was 36 students that were taken by random sampling technique. The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistic. The result of the data analysis shown that the lowest score of the students who were in the experimental group was 53 and the highest score was 80. While, those who in the control group was 52 for the lowest score and 76 for the highest score. The result of this research, it was found out that the effect of fishbowl strategy between the experimental and control group were significance. The control group got 1101, while the experimental group got 1227. In conclusion, the fishbowl strategy had significant effect in teaching speaking.

Abstract

This study aims to describe student responses regarding the use of Quizizz as an alternative media in Arabic language learning. This study used a descriptive research method. The subjects of this study were students of Islamic Cultural History, Faculty of Adab and Culture, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University who took Arabic courses during the 2021/2022 academic year. This study employed a questionnaire instrument to collect research data. The data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to students of the Islamic Cultural History program through Google Form. The results revealed both positive and negative responses related to the implementation of tests using Quizizz as an assessment media. With the use of Quizizz for assessments, 90.9% of students reported taking tests independently. Students generally found the application of Quizizz in their lectures to be enjoyable and moderately challenging. However, some students expressed concerns that Quizizz does not allow for reviewing answers and highlighted the vulnerability of Quizizz usage, particularly for students in remote areas with poor internet connectivity.

Abstract

The research aimed to find out a using of spoof text to develop speaking skill by Instagram at the eleventh grade of State Senior High School 1 Selesai. The subjects were all students in eleventh grade that is XI Mathematics and Natural Sciences Department 2 with a population 32 of students and 30 students were chosen as the sample.  This study was qualitative descriptive research. This study used observation, and documentation as a technique for collecting data. The data was collected using a video WhatsApp group actually post in Instagram with group discussion in two member of a group and the video will take one by one. The results of research at State Senior High School 1 Selesai  are the most important for teachers to evaluate learning methods by using of a spoof text to develop speaking skill by social media Instagram so that students can understand the learning material well in accordance with the expectations of each individual.

Abstract

This study aims to show and describe which technology is used in schools. By using qualitative methods and observation, the data were gathered and analyzed using technology theories. The results of the study are the application of technology is applied in-class activity related to EFL such as technology as a tool or teaching media and technology as the environment of the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

The use of technology in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) has caught the interest of researchers, educators, and governments all around the world. Technology's quick development has created chances for innovative and fun learning experiences. An increasing number of people in the Indonesian province of West Nusa Tenggara are eager to use technology-assisted learning techniques to enhance EFL instruction in local institutions. The purpose of this qualitative study is to examine how technology-assisted learning is used in a West Nusa Tenggara EFL classroom from the viewpoint of the instructors. This study aims to get a thorough understanding of teachers' experiences, opinions, and instructional practices linked to the integration of technology in EFL education through the use of qualitative research methodologies like document analysis and interviews. The outcomes show how theories of technology-assisted language acquisition are really put into practice in the classroom. The teacher efficiently uses a variety of digital tools, appreciates their benefits, and effectively deals with challenges by putting methods into place to get through them. The students' positive feedback and the school's supply of technology resources show a dedication to upholding the tenets of technology-assisted language learning. The integration of technology is also reflected in the instructional plan. However, a more thorough analysis of how technology affects pupils' language proficiency may be a potential for future research.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the validity and practicality of interactive learning videos for Arabic reading proficiency developed using VideoPad and Edpuzzle applications. The type of research used is research and development (R&D). Data were collected through validity and practicality questionnaires. The data were analysed quantitatively descriptively. The research test subjects were students of MTs Muhammadiyah Sulit Air Solok West Sumatra. The results of this study indicate that the interactive learning video for Arabic reading proficiency developed using the VideoPad and Edpuzzle applications is very valid with a validation score on the aspect of learning material 97.5%, on the aspect of learning media 93.75%, and on the aspect of video language 97.5%. The average validation score is 96.25%. The results of the practicality test of the interactive learning video for Arabic reading proficiency developed using VideoPad and Edpuzzle applications show that the video is very practical according to the assessment of teachers and students with a practicality score from teachers of 85% and a practicality score from students of 80.7%. Thus it can be concluded that the interactive learning video developed using VideoPad and Edpuzzle applications can be used for Arabic reading proficiency learning for Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) students.

Abstract

This research aims to demonstrate the influence of the short story Al-Jababiroh by Najib Kaelani on Habiburrahman el Shirazy in the production of his short story entitled Di Atas Sajadah Cinta. With regard to the numerous similarities between the two short stories, it can be argued that they represent a form of inspiration and influence from Najib Kaelani to Habiburraman el Shirazy, particularly in the context of his work entitled Al-Jababiroh. This research employs a comparative literary method, namely the comparison of the works of both authors. In addition, the researcher employs the intertextual theory proposed by Julia Kristeva. In this comparison, the researcher finds that Habiburrahman el Shirazy was creative in developing his work. With regard to this form of creativity, the protagonist of Habiburrahman el Shirazy's short story does not undergo the same experience as the male protagonist of Al-Jababiroh. This divergence can even alter the trajectory of the narrative, ultimately culminating in the male protagonist of Habiburrahman el Shirazy's work proposing to the female protagonist, Afirah. Consequently, it can be posited that the short story entitled Di Atas Sajadah Cinta by Habiburrahman el Shirazy underwent expansion, modification, existence, and defamiliarization as initiated by Julia Kristeva.

Abstract

The study explores the implementation of authentic assessment in English listening lessons within Junior High Schools under Indonesia’s Merdeka Curriculum. Employing a qualitative research method, the study involves interviews with English teachers in Sragen to gather insights into their experiences. The findings indicate that teachers utilize various assessment types, such as diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments, integratred into the learning process. Despite the benefits of authentic assessment, including improved listening skills and real-world application, teachers face challenges such as limited time, resources, and confidence in implementing these assessments. The research highlights the necessity for comprehensive support and professional development to optimize the use of authentic assessment in enhancing students’ listening skills.

Abstract

Bahasa Arab merupakan bahasa ibu bagi lebih dari 221 juta penutur yang tersebar di 35 negara, dan di antaranya menjadikannya sebagai bahasa resmi. Sejak tahun 1973, Bahasa Arab juga diakui sebagai salah satu dari enam bahasa resmi Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB). Di Indonesia, bahasa Arab telah menjadi bagian penting dalam sistem pendidikan, baik formal maupun nonformal, terutama dalam konteks lembaga pendidikan Islam. Namun demikian, tidak semua peserta didik mampu mencapai hasil belajar yang optimal. Berbagai hambatan, terutama yang berasal dari faktor internal siswa, menjadi penyebab utama kesulitan dalam mempelajari bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas VII MTs Satu Atap Darussalam Al-Kubro. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik purposive sampling dalam menentukan informan yang terdiri dari 6 orang (guru dan siswa). Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan enam faktor utama penyebab kesulitan belajar, yaitu: (1) rendahnya motivasi dan kecintaan siswa terhadap bahasa Arab, (2) kesulitan dalam memahami dan menghafal kosakata (mufradat), (3) pendekatan pengajaran guru yang terlalu menekankan hafalan mufradat, (4) kurang variatifnya metode dan media pembelajaran yang digunakan, dan (5) keterbatasan sarana pendukung belajar. Temuan ini mengindikasikan pentingnya perbaikan strategi pembelajaran dan penyediaan fasilitas yang memadai untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran bahasa Arab di tingkat madrasah.
