Abstract

Recently, imported oranges have dominated Bali's local market, leading to low demand for local oranges because both oranges have different tastes, colors, and sizes. Research about the demand rate of local oranges in traditional markets is abundant. However, analysis that compares local and imported oranges' characteristics and supermarket consumer preferences is still lacking. This study aimed to determine (1) consumer preferences for the attributes of local and imported oranges in supermarkets in Denpasar City and (2) Factors that affected consumer decisions in buying local and imported oranges. The location of this study was determined purposively at four modern markets in Denpasar City with 100 respondents. The results showed that (1) Most consumers of oranges (68 percent) in the contemporary market are women, with 79 percent preferring to buy local oranges and only 21 percent preferring to buy imported oranges. In contrast, male consumers prefer imported oranges (69 percent), and only 31 percent prefer local oranges. This illustrates that female consumers tend to buy household needs and play a more significant role in making purchasing decisions for daily needs, including the demand for fruit. Consumers who bought oranges fruits were dominated by women, with a majority of the productive age range between 20 and 30 years (38%). Cumulative preference showed that local oranges were in the strongly like category. At the same time, imported oranges were in the neutral type only. (2) The attributes of local orange and imported oranges, such as taste, color, and texture, significantly influence consumer decisions in buying local and imported oranges. This study only emphasizes five attributes of orange without considering household income, ethnicity, and culture inside the model.

Abstract

The palm oil industry has created business potential. Palm oil agribusiness is one of the industrial sectors in Indonesia that possesses a competitive advantage in the global market. The development of the palm oil industry in Indonesia has been carried out with a focus on achieving a balance among social, financial, and environmental aspects. The attention of oil palm plantation employees is crucial for increasing productivity. This research aims to analyze the influence of the harvest premium variables: length of service, age, education level, number of dependents, grants, and geology on the work implementation of oil palm harvesting workers at PT Semadam. This research was conducted in June 2022 at PT. Semadam, Aceh Tamiang. In this research, the survey method was employed. The number of samples was calculated using the Slovin Formula with an error rate of 10% or 0.1. This calculation obtained a sample size of 40 respondents from a population of 45 people. The research results indicate a collective influence of independent factors (premium collection, work involvement, age, education level, number of dependents, aid funds, and geographical location) on the dependent variable (work implementation). However, premium collection, education level, and geography significantly influence worker performance, while work involvement, age, work involvement, and grants do not substantially impact worker performance. The coefficient of determination, 0.825, indicates that the independent variables explain 82.5% of the variance in the dependent variable, while other factors influence 17.5%.

Abstract

Agriculture is the major contributor to the Brebes Regency's Gross Regional Domestic Product and employment, and rice constitutes the principal crop. Bantarkawung District is the leading producer of rice in the Brebes Regency. However, most of the paddy fields in Bantarkawung are rain-fed, so rice growing is hindered during the dry season due to a water shortage. This study's objective is to assess the farm profits obtained by households and the contribution of rice farming to household income. The population comprises 445 rice-farming families in Waru Village, from which 82 rice farmers were randomly selected. Interviews with respondents were conducted in March 2022. The variables include revenue, costs, profit, and household income. The analytical instruments consist of profit analysis and income contribution. Profit analysis was calculated using the R/C ratio, and the income contribution was calculated by comparing the profit of rainfed rice farming with farm household income. The results indicate that rainfed rice cultivation in Waru Village is profitable. The R/C is more than one, in the range of 1.22 to 2.10. Nonetheless, the contribution of rainfed rice farming to household income is small, ranging from 0.7% to 22.85%. The findings suggest that rainfed rice farmers in Waru Village should be able to sustain their farms because this type of cultivation is profitable despite its reliance on rainwater for irrigation. In addition, it is envisaged that the government, through the appropriate agencies, will enhance the road infrastructure to enable the transfer of agricultural inputs and outputs, offer the necessary socialization, and help boost production.

Abstract

This research holds significant importance in sustainable agricultural development in West Kalimantan, where the integration of cattle farming within oil palm plantations is an innovation that can impact farmers' economy, development, and social needs. The study was conducted in 2022, involving 130 respondents and employing both descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) methods. The analysis results reveal that farmers' motivation is influenced by internal and external factors such as experience, cosmopolitanism, external support, the availability of facilities, market guarantees, ease of integration, and perceived benefits from integration. This research provides a profound understanding of these dynamics, which can assist in designing more effective policies and strategies to promote and support the integration of cattle farming within oil palm plantations. Consequently, this research has the potential to significantly contribute to sustainable agricultural development and rural growth in Meliau District.

Abstract

The application of the green marketing concept is needed for green product manufacturers to compete and emphasize their competitive advantages effectively. Green marketing offers many benefits to producers, including improved profitability, productivity, and company image. As producers of green products, rattan craft Small and Medium Enterprises should implement green marketing to get more benefits. Nevertheless, rattan craft small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) still need to adopt this practice. The lack of ability to effectively convey an environmentally friendly image has led to a decline in consumer satisfaction and loyalty. Therefore, this study aims to formulate a green marketing strategy to enhance consumer satisfaction and loyalty towards rattan handicrafts. The research is located in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan Province. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and questionnaires. A green marketing strategy was formulated using the 7P green marketing mix consisting of product, price, place, promotion, people, process and physical evidence and analyzed using Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT). The prioritization of green marketing strategy is determined using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The result indicated that among strengths and opportunities, it is made from materials that are safe for the environment and can be developed into various products are the two most important factors. In contrast, among weaknesses and threats, products are less varied, and the existence of substitute goods such as plastic and bamboo are the weaknesses and threats that are most concern. The alternative green marketing mix strategy formulated consists of maximizing the use of e-commerce, expanding cooperation and networking with stakeholders, increasing innovation and product variants, green advertising in digital media, guaranteeing green products through green label certification, and increasing discounts and bonuses for purchasing a certain amount. The research results also showed that the primary priority strategy is increasing innovation and product variants, while less priority is adding discounts and bonuses for purchasing specific quantities.

Abstract

Coffee shops in West Aceh Regency have grown rapidly from the city centre and spread to the coast. But in reality, many coffee shops in West Aceh Regency also have low operational performance, so they experience business failure (bankruptcy). Because West Aceh Regency does not cultivate coffee plants, the coffee supply chain in the coffee shop industry depends on the supply of raw materials from other areas. This study aims to identify and evaluate the adaptability and competence of coffee shop business players. This research is crucial because it relates to supply chain strategies that may seize opportunities and adapt to changing market situations. This research topic is relatively new because research that discusses the effect of Supply chain strategies in mediating innovation and business performance in MSMEs is still lacking. Previous research was mainly researched from the perspective of consumers, so this study was reviewed from the perspective of entrepreneurs. This quantitative research with SEM PLS analysis was conducted in West Aceh Regency. The sample size was 60 respondents, namely coffee shop business actors spread across six sub-districts in West Aceh Regency. The findings demonstrated a strong direct correlation between innovation factors and the success of coffee shops in the West Aceh Regency. However, innovation has no indirect impact on business performance when lean supply chain factors are used as a mediator. However, when supply chain mediation is used, there is a sizable indirect impact of innovation on corporate success. Given how competitive the coffee industry is becoming in West Aceh Regency, this research is anticipated to advance knowledge significantly and offer insight into creating supply chain strategies and innovation. Moreover, this study might be used as a guide for future supply chain-related investigations.
