Abstract

This research aims to determine the marketing channel patterns, analyse the marketing margins, and assess the marketing efficiency of Siompu oranges. The Simple Random Sampling technique will be used to ascertain the sample for the investigation. The participants and marketing firms in this research were selected via Snowball Sampling. The sample consisted of 34 farmers, 5 collectors, and 7 shopkeepers. The findings indicated the existence of two marketing channels for Siompu oranges in Siompu District: marketing channel I, which involves producers, collectors, and merchants and ultimately reaches the end customers. Marketing channel II begins with farmers and merchants and then promotes directly to end customers. The cost per kilogram in Marketing Channel I is IDR 1,398.69, while in Marketing Channel II it is IDR 323.69. The total margin per kilogram in Marketing Channel I is IDR 10,000, while in Marketing Channel II, it is IDR 5,000. The proportion of the farmers' share in Marketing Channel I is 80%, while in Marketing Channel II, it is 90%

Abstract

Coffee is the dominant tropical commodity in global commerce, accounting for 50% of all low-commodity exports. The worldwide allure of coffee primarily stems from its distinctive flavor and is supported by economic, social, traditional, and historical factors. This research aims to ascertain the marketing margins of robusta coffee and identify the elements that impact these margins. The investigation used the descriptive analysis approach. The study included a total of 68 farmers who were selected by random selection, as well as four merchants who were recruited using the snowball sampling method. The data analysis will then focus on an analysis of the marketing margin and a multiple linear regression analysis to identify the following factors that impact the marketing margins of robusta coffee. The study's results indicate that the first channel exhibits a highly efficient marketing channel, demonstrating a minimal marketing margin of IDR.1.520/Kg. Furthermore, the variables influencing marketing margins include the various marketing channels. The sales volume and marketing distance of coffee do not substantially impact marketing margins.

Abstract

The research focuses on the cattle breeding business in Palon Village, Jepon District, and Blora Regency, which is still considered a secondary source of income by the farmers despite the region's reputation as one of the leading beef cattle producers in Central Java. This perception significantly influences the way farmers manage their cattle breeding businesses. The study analyzes beef cattle breeding operations' cost and income structure. A purposive sample of 30 farmers was selected for the research. Descriptive analysis was used to process the data, cost and revenue structure analysis, and return per cost analysis. The research results show that all breeders use green feed. The cost of providing feed is the largest in beef cattle breeding, reaching 51.13%. Beef cattle breeders also still use family resources, so the contribution of non-cash costs to total costs is significant, reaching 81.16%. Income from cash costs is positive, so farmers still consider this business profitable (farmers do not consider the resources owned by farmers). Considering the total costs, the beef cattle breeding business is inefficient. The capital allocation invested in this nursery business has not provided commensurate returns compared to other sectors. Apart from that, this business can also not provide wages to family workers equivalent to wages for a person-day (HOK).

Abstract

One of the production centers for red chili papers is North Sumatra Province. On the other hand, North Sumatra is one of the provinces that underwent agricultural land conversion. This study aims to examine how the size of the farm's land affects the farm performance of the red chili pepper crop in North Sumatra, measured by revenue, cost, income, and efficiency. The study was conducted in 2022–2023 using data from 1.876 farmers and secondary data from SHR2014 and BPS. The study employs two main research methods: (1) an analysis of revenue, cost, income, and revenue of cost ratio and (2) the use of the Kruskal-Wallis test to determine the impact of land size on farm performance. According to this study, the small-sized land farmers generate the highest total cost, and the large-sized land farmers use the lowest cost of production. On the other hand, the total revenue produced by small-sized land farmers has the highest cost, and the large-sized land farmers generate the lowest total revenue. Income calculation stated that small land farmers get the smallest income on cash cost, and large land farmers generate the most significant income. Thus, large land farmers achieve the highest revenue-of-cost ratio. According to the Kruskall-Wallis test, the land size affects the following: revenue, cost, income, and revenue of cost ratio. Consequently, it may be said that land area impacts the performance of red chili pepper farms.

Abstract

The role of the agricultural sector, in reality, significantly contributes to the provision of food, income, and other goods. This contribution significantly impacts Indonesia's economy from year to year, especially the income of farmers who cultivate agricultural products in pursuit of a farmer's well-being. One of the agricultural efforts that play a crucial role in meeting the dietary needs of the Indonesian population, where rice serves as a staple food, is paddy farming. The execution of this research aims to achieve two objectives to determine the production costs, revenues, and income of paddy farming in Bongoime Village, Tilongkabila District, Bone Bolango Regency, and to conduct an analysis on the optimal usage of production inputs in paddy farming grown and cultivated in Tilongkabila District, Bongoime Village, Bone Bolango Regency. Based on the research objectives, the researcher employed a method to facilitate the research, which is through the use of a survey method and direct quantitative analysis techniques. All the data collected during the research, including costs, revenues, income, and the optimization of the usage of production factors, were analyzed. The findings indicate that the average cost per farmer and harvest is Rp. 4,124,030.87. Meanwhile, the average net income per farmer per harvest is Rp. 17,696,268, and the average income per farmer per harvest is Rp. 21,820,298.51. Land use and pesticide usage for production have not reached an optimal level, thus efforts to reduce usage are necessary to increase production, as indicated by the analysis of input production optimization. Regarding the use of certain production inputs, such as seeds, urea fertilizer, phonska fertilizer, and labour, they remain at a suboptimal level. This indicates the need for increased usage to enhance production.
