Abstract

Local village facilitators have a role in increasing the capacity and effectiveness of government and village communities. The competence and performance of local village assistants can measure the success of village assistance. Quantitative research using this survey method aims to describe individual characteristics, determine the level of competence and performance and analyze the effect of competence on the performance of local village assistants. The research was conducted in July and August 2022 in Banggai Kepulauan and Banggai Laut Regencies with 40 local village facilitators as respondents. The variables of this study are competencies supported by technical, managerial, and socio-cultural competency indicators. In contrast, performance variables include managing village development, local economic development, increasing village community participation, and mentoring evaluation. Data collection techniques are through questionnaires, interviews, and observation. Data analysis was performed using the SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square) method using the SmartPLS 3.29 application. The results showed that respondents were dominated by male aged 38-48 years, high school education level, high years of service, low non-formal education, and many assisted villages. Assistants have high competence and performance. There is no real difference between the competence and performance of assistants in the Banggai Laut and Banggai Kepulauan Regencies. There is a strong influence between competence on the performance of local village assistants. Therefore, the advice is that the assistants' competence needs to be improved through training and mentoring to achieve good work results.

Abstract

After the green revolution, the awareness of the importance of using organic fertilizers has increased. However, farmers' interest in adopting organic fertilizers is still shallow. The aims of this study were (1) to determine the extent to which farmers adopted organic farming and (2) to determine what variables influenced farmers' decisions to adopt organic fertilizers. This study was conducted in 2022 in Tilongkabila District, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province, one of the leading agricultural areas in Bone Bolango Regency, with a total respondent of 213 farmers. The results of this study indicated that farmers' adoption rate in organic fertilizers based on the innovation-decision stages of adopters was still relatively low, where as many as 35% of farmers have adopted organic fertilizer innovations. Meanwhile, the compatibility attribute is the only variable that could predict farmers' adoption of organic fertilizer innovations in the Tilongkabila District.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the value of processing coconut sap into coconut sugar. In Manyampa Village, Ujung Loe Subdistrict, and the factors that affect the supply of coconut sugar in Manyampa Village, Ujung Loe Subdistrict, carried out from August to December 2021. Location determination was determined intentionally. Determination of the number of samples using the saturated sampling method because the number of pieces is relatively small, amounting to 15 respondents. Variables in this research consist of respondent identity and value-added analysis of coconut sugar derived from coconut sap. This data was analyzed using value-added analysis and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The results showed that the added value generated from one month of making coconut sugar in the village of Manyampa, Ujung Loe sub-district, was high, with an added value ratio of >50, with a percentage of 85%. And simultaneously, the supply of coconut sugar in Manyampa Village, Ujung Loe District, is influenced by the price of raw materials and other goods. The number of producers, Partially only raw material variables, affects the supply of coconut sugar. In contrast, the price of coconut sugar, the number of producers, and the costs of other goods do not affect the supply of coconut sugar.

Abstract

The development of a region has a high relationship with the concentration of economic activity that occurs in an area, so the region's development can be seen based on the centre of its activities. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of regional development in the regencies on the island of Timor, NTT and the typology and spatial pattern of the linkages of the horticulture sub-sector, which are commodities of interaction between regions on the island of Timor, NTT. The analytical method used in this research is scalogram analysis for regional development level and Moran index analysis for typology and spatial pattern of horticultural commodities. Based on the results of the analysis to find out the level of regional development in the regencies on Timor Island, NTT, it can be seen that Kupang Regency has the most complete availability of facilities and infrastructure so that it becomes hierarchy I, namely serving regencies on Timor Island, NTT, Hierarchy II is Belu Regency and then TTU Regency. The last one is TTS Regency and Malacca Regency occupying hierarchy III. Furthermore, Moran index analysis was used to determine the typology and spatial pattern of the horticulture sub-sector. The analysis results showed that the distribution pattern was clustered for the shallots. The distribution pattern was spread for the squash and carrot commodities, while for the tomatoes and bananas, the distribution pattern was clustered, with each LIS cluster category having low-high and high-low categories.

Abstract

Irrigation is one of the important components of farming producers in cultivation. Lack of irrigation water causes crop failure risk, while excess water also causes agricultural crop failure. It is necessary to regulate irrigation water to achieve technical and economic farming efficiency. This study aims to determine the efficiency of solar power generation in agricultural automatic drip irrigation. This study uses experimental research with the design of materials and research tools. Efficiency estimation uses a simple ratio by looking at the cost components of each treatment so that the value that appears becomes the final efficiency value. This study showed that automatic drip irrigation for solar power generation was more economically efficient than ordinary electricity. The use of automatic drip irrigation can save costs of Rp. 4,346,200. In addition, unlimited renewable energy support is a major advantage besides being environmentally friendly and an agricultural climate change adaptation strategy. The system’s performance on the automatic pump is running well, as seen from P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5; the pump turns on at a percentage of water ranging from 10-90% and turns off after reaching 100% water or water-saturated soil conditions. The main obstacle faced during the research was the climate problem because this research model used the solar system. This means that as long as sunlight shows its existence, the energy obtained is also perfect, but vice versa. In addition, it is still difficult for traditional farmers to carry out the operational control system, so further research is needed.

Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals or sustainable development is a development concept carried out by the government to improve the community's welfare and preserve the environment. The national development program is now starting to experience a paradigm shift. Previously, the focus of development was more emphasized on the economic sector in local government areas only, but now the director of development is starting to target rural areas as the most significant contributor to achieving the success of national development. The purpose of this research is to map tourist villages in Banyumas Regency into several categories according to their potential and level of development. This research was conducted from October to November 2022 with the selection of research locations carried out purposively based on considerations of being a village that has a tourist location, both developed and newly developed, having various village potentials such as nature, culture, and UMKM, managed by the village government and residents supported by the local government, universities, and investors spread across 13 tourist villages in the Banyumas Regency area Kalisalak, Wlahar Wetan, Linggasari, Melung, Papringan, Pandak, Banjaranyar, Limpakuwus, Kalisari, Susukan, Karangsalam Lor, Cikakak, and Karang Tengah. The population in this study amounted to 160 people, with a research sample of 90 people consisting of 14 village governments, 48 tourism managers, and 28 local villagers. This research uses qualitative data analysis methods with primary data sources obtained directly from the field and supported by secondary data obtained by researchers from various media such as the Internet and other research results as support. The data collection techniques used in this research were structured interviews, observation, and literature study. The results showed that several village areas in Banyumas Regency have become tourist villages or pioneered to become tourist villages with a management system carried out by the local community in collaboration with the village government and in partnership with external parties such as universities, investors, and local governments. These villages have various characteristics of potential that can be developed, such as natural potential, artistic potential, and UMKM. Seen from the level of development, tourist villages in Banyumas Regency are divided into several categories, namely the tourist village category, the developing tourist village category, and the embryonic village category.
