Abstract

One of patient-centered-cared domaind can be done by listen to the patients voices about the servicesprovided and motivate patients to actively involved in the treatment process. Patient involvement methods:patient feedback and Speak-up education are methods that can be applied in hospitals. This study aims toimplement the development of patient imvolvement methods:patient feedback and Speak-up education. Themethod used was a pilot study of 57 nurses using observation sheets of the patient feedback process andSpeak-up consisting of 17 items. The study begin with problem identification, fishbone analysis,implementation and evaluation. Implementation consisted of making guides, SPO, forms, and role-playvideos. The results of the study showed that the patient feedback method and Speak-up were performed withan achievement of 69.42%. Conclusion: the success of the patient involvement process was influenced bythe willingness of the organization and staff to listen to the patients voice, readiness to change, supportiveresources, and support of nurses, nurse managers and management. Recommendation: this study is thebasis for the application of new methods of involving patients in the hospital

Abstract

Stroke cause mortality and impact due to stroke. Self management with family support is needed to adapt topost stroke conditions and prevent recurrent stroke. family support has a role for self management success.Objective: the literature review aims to identify and analyze the important role of family support for selfmanagement stroke patients. Design : narrative literature review. Methods : study analysis published on theon line data base : ProQuest, EBSCO, Google Scholar and Scopus. The study was selected using the criteriaand keywords for the 2015-2019 period. Nine studies were analyzed using literature review process. Results:Family support that can be given to stroke patients in carrying out self management includes : support fordisease management, management roles and emotional management. Conclusion: Family support is neededto improve stroke self management. The family is the main companion of the of the adapting to changes afterstroke.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease death, derived from genetic, environmental,and social factors. Intervention strategies are urgently needed to increase awareness and self-care. Thepurpose of this study was to analyze the effect of a caring-based supportive educative intervention on selfcare management of hypertensive sufferers. This research design is quasi-experimental. The population was71 elderly people with hypertension with simple random sampling, 66 samples were divided into 2 groups,namely the treatment group as many as 33 people who were given caring-based supportive educativeintervention, and as many as 33 control groups were given leaflets about hypertension. The results of thestudy were based on the independent t-test score of self care management in the treatment and controlgroups after the intervention, namely p = 0.000. The difference in the delta score of self care managementscores in the treatment and control groups after the intervention is p = 0.000. The results of this studyindicate that caring-based supportive educative interventions are effective in improving self-caremanagement of hypertensive patients, this intervention can be a promotional effort to increase self-careindependence in hypertensive sufferers.

Abstract

Falls is an incident that must be prevented when patients treated in the hospital. Nurses must comply withStandard Operating Procedures (SOP) to prevent the incidents of patient safety. Nursing supervision is oneway to improve nurse compliance. The method used is a pilot project by innovating. Implementation consistedof making drafting supervision work instructions, supervision instrument drafts, patient safety pocket books,innovation’s sosialization to 40 nurses consist of nursing services, nursing comitee, head nurses, head ofinstallations, leaders and associate nurses. The results of the study through the input project evaluation inthe form of interviews with 2 team leaders and 3 implementing nurses showed that headnurse’s instrumentsand work instructions supervision of falling risk reduction will help increase nurses' knowledge of StandardOperating Procedures (SOPs) for Falling Risk Reduction in Hospitals. Conclusion: the increase in nurses'knowledge about the reduction in fall risk is influenced by the supervisory function of the headnurse as thefirst-line nurse manager. Recommendation: this study is the basis for the implementation of supervision ofpatient safety targets, especially the reduction in the risk of falls.

Abstract

Background: Pediculosis capitis is an ectoparasite infestation of the species pediculus humanus capitisthat lives on the human scalp and can cause various problems for sufferers. Transmission is divided intotwo, namely through direct and indirect contact. Personal hygiene and level of knowledge are risk factorsfor pediculosis capitis. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level ofknowledge and personal hygiene with the incidence of pediculosis capitis among female students at theBinaul Ummah Islamic Boarding School, Bantul, DIY.Methods: The design used in this study was an observational analytic capproach cross sectional. Thesampling technique used in this study was a technique total sampling of55 female student. The results wereanalyzed by univariate and bivariate with the chi square test.Results: The most characteristic of respondents was 13 years old (36.4%) and the highest class was classVIII (41.8%). Santriwati who have a low level of knowledge (56.4%) and personal hygiene is not good(63.6%). The incidence ofpediculosis capitis positivewas 74.5%. The results of thestatistical test for the chisquare level of knowledge p value = 0.034 and personal hygiene p value = 0.028, which means p value<0.05.Conclusion: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge and personal hygiene with theincidence of pediculosis capitis in students of the Binaul Ummah Islamic boarding school, Bantul, DIY.

Abstract

Agricultural tools and machinery are currently widely used in agriculture to increase productivity. However, therate of trauma due to their use is still high; farmers are limited in handling trauma events in agricultural areas,leading to an increased risk of morbidity and mortality. This research aims to improve farmers' ability toperform trauma wound treatment of farming areas using the Population Centered Health Nursing Care (CHNC)approach. The study used an experimental, quasi design pre and post. The group treated 125 farmers fromCandipuro and a control group of 125 farmers from Pasirian, Tekung, Senduro, and Sumbersuko. The bivariateanalysis results using the Mann-Whitney U test on the treatment group obtained a significant value of 0.000(p<0,05). The test results differed from the control group, which did not have a substantial amount of 0.334 (p>0.05). It was concluded that increasing the ability of farmers after being given training was through thePopulation Centered Health Nursing Care approach. Developing a model for improving farmer safety is carriedout by developing health cadres in farmer groups.

Abstract

Nurse behavior has a strong influence on the need and trust of patient education which identifiesdeterminants of nurse behavior in presenting patient education with a cross sectional design. The studyused total sampling with 210 samples according to the inclusion criteria. The instrument used was amodification of various literature reviews which tested its validity and reliability. The majority of nurseshave the following characteristics: female, <35 years old, not attending D3 Nursing, having totalexperience <10 years, civil servant status, having attended training (in the last three years), but lackingknowledge related to providing patient education . There is a relationship between age, policies, policies,working conditions, supervision, social support, and the planning function of the head of the room with thebehavior of nurses in providing patient education (p = 0.001-0.037), the most dominant variable affectingthe behavior of nurses in providing patient education is support. social (OR = 5,186). Nursing managersand the ranks of the hospital need to create a support program to offer patient education, complete allexisting facilities and infrastructure, as well as prepare competent resources.

Abstract

Background: Sufficient knowledge of nursing care is the main requirement in caring for patients, it takesinteresting and interactive learning materials so that nursing students can learn well and understand thenursing care that will be provided.Purpose: This study aims to provide a selection of interesting learning materials in the form of interactivecomics about nursing care in patients with cancer.Research method: this study used true experimental design with post test-only control design. There were80 respondents to the fifth semester nursing students, the treatment group as many as 40 respondents andthe control group as many as 40 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling byselecting samples according to the inclusion criteria. The treatment group received learning materials inthe form of nursing comics and the control group was given handouts. After getting teaching about nursingcare to cancer patients for 2 meetings, a written evaluation was carried out with a cognitive level questioncategory 1 - 3. Student scores were processed using the SPSS 24 program with independent t-test analysis.Results: the results of the analysis showed that after using nursing comic learning materials in thetreatment group and handouts in the control group, there was a significant difference in value 000 <0.05,where the learning outcomes in the treatment group showed an average result of 72.6 and an average valueof 60.4 in control group.Conclusion: nursing interactive comic learning media is effective in improving nursing student learningoutcomes.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) but it can be reduced by HPV infection.The aimed of this study was to explore perception and knowledge about HPV, cervical cancer andHPV vaccine in Ciranjang West Java, Indonesia. This was a cross sectional study of 90 adult femalein Ciranjang, West Java, Indonesia. A 31 item self-report questionnaire was completed in this study.The reliability of this tool was assessed using Cronbach’s alpa (0.86) and the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkinvalue was 0.704. A total of 90 questionnaire were distributed, completed and analyzed. Only 42(46.7%), 69 (76.7%) and 69 (76.7%) of adult female had ever heard of HPV infection, cervical cancerand HPV vaccine respectively. Only 13 (14.4%) knew that HPV can cause herpes and 28 (31.3%)knew that HPV can cause genital warts. Of the 44 adult female knew that there is a vaccine beingdeveloped to prevent HPV infection. Generally, the perception, knowledge and attitude about HPVamong adult female were low. There is a need for health promotion to improve knowledge,perception and HPV vaccine.

Abstract

There are 24.03% of Indonesia's population having open defecation behavior. This behavior has thepotential to cause a disease such as water-borne diseases. The research aims to determine the relationshipbetween knowledge about healthy latrines and physical environment with open defecation behavior. Thisresearch used quantitative descriptive method with cross sectional study approach. The number ofrespondents was 78 people using the quota sampling technique. Data analysis used the Spearman rankcorrelation test. The results showed that most respondents were 51 - 60 (37%), men (76%), farm laborers(73%), graduated from elementary school (64%), and had monthly income of less than Rp. 1,000,000.Significant relationship between knowledge about healthy latrines with BABS behavior with a value ofP=0,000, has a strong relationship with the value of r=-0,543, a significant relationship between physicalenvironment with BABS behavior with a value of P=0,000 has a strong level with a value of r=-0,712.Knowledge about healthy latrines and a good environment should be improved to reduce the behavior ofopen defecation in society.
