Abstract

This research was conducted because of the low learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SDN11 Tulang Bawang Tengah in science subjects, the methods and learning media used by the teacher were less varied, and students were less active in learning. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of fifth graders at SD 11 Tulang Bawang Tengah in science subjects with the subject of the process of soil formation using visual media. This research is a classroom action research. The subjects in this study were the fifth grade students of SD 11 Tulang Bawang Tengah with a total of 28 students. This research took place in two cycles. Cycle I and cycle II consist of 2 meetings. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and objective tests. The instruments used are observation sheets and objective test questions. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative. The success indicator is determined if the class average increases from pre-action, cycle I and cycle II. The results showed that students' science learning outcomes had increased. This is indicated by the increase in the average value of the class at the time of pre-action 65.71 increased to 69.64 in the first cycle and then increased again in the second cycle to 79.19.

Abstract

This research is based on the results of the researchers' initial research in the Logic and Algorithm course in Informatics and Computer Engineering Education Study Program where the researchers found the following problems using conventional learning models such as Jigsaw Learning, Small Discussion and Student ActiveLearning which caused not all students to be able to understand Learning Logic and Algorithm. In addition, there were also problems from the lecturers who support Logic and Algorithm courses which stated that there was a lack of facilities in teaching and learning activities, especially in online learning situations, while inthis course they were required to form students' mindsets related to learning Logic and Algorithms. The type of research used by the author is quantitative research with the Quasi Experiment method. The research design used was the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample of this research is PTIK students insemester 1 of class A class of 2021. The data collection technique is by using tests in the form of Pretest and Posttest. The data analysis technique used is the analysis prerequisite test which consists of normality test and homogeneity test as well as hypothesis testing. Based on the results of the research that has been carriedout, it is found that there is an effect of project-based learning models on student learning outcomes in the Logic and Algorithm course at the Informatics and Computer Engineering Education Study Program (PTIK) IAIN Bukittinggi, it can be seen from the results of the posttest of both classes. From the test results, it can be seen that the average difference in student learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class is illustrated. By applying the project-based learning model, the students in the experimental class got a higher average score than the students who did not use the project-based learning model in the control class.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the effect of using manipulative media on increasing the ability to recognize the concept of numbers in children aged 4-5 years at PAUD Zayyan Palembang. The research method used in this research is qualitative research, the type of research used is true experimental design. The research population was all children of PAUD Zayyan Palembang in class A2. The sampling technique used a random sampling of the selected samples, namely class A2 which was used as the experimental class and A1 as the control class. Methods of data collection using observation and documentation. Based on the calculations obtained for the pretest data, the normality test of the data obtained is 40.61 and the posttest data is 83.53, so it can be said from the two data that the distribution is normal. Then the results of the calculation of the data normality test for t_(count )<t_table or 1.09 < 2.160. The next stage is testing the hypothesis from the results of the t-test calculation obtained t_count = 4.55 and t_table = 1.78. Thus it can be concluded that t_(count )> t_table or 4.55 > 1.78, meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, then the comparison of pretest data and posttest data can be stated that manipulative media has a significant influence on the ability to recognize the concept of numbers in children aged 4-5 years at PAUD Zayyan Palembang.

Abstract

A common mistake that adults make when teaching children to read is to place more emphasis on memorizing the consonants of the alphabet from A to Z, so that even though the child has memorized the letters, the child will still have difficulty reading and become confused when faced with text or example sentences. One method that can be used to introduce reading to children is to use the drill and practice method. Of the 15 Kindergarten A children, only 3 people can correctly pronounce the letters A, B, C to Z, but cannot pronounce the sound when 2-3 letters are combined into words, 5 people can point to some letters at random but not all the letters can correctly mentioned only a few letters at random, and as many as 7 children only memorized thepronunciation without knowing the shape of the letters called. The reflection of the application ofthe drill and practice method is that repeated exercises are indeed needed, because of the limited time to study in school, plus the focus of children who are easily divided, making it difficult for children to concentrate on books, with repeated exercises, children's memory becomes more embedded. The results of this study are an increase in children's reading skills through theapplication of the Drill and Practice method, from children who can only say letters without knowing how the symbols or letter shapes are to become children who can not only mention letters one by one but also mention the sound of the letters that are connected to form a word, from a child who only knows a few random letter symbols to a child who is able to name every consonant of a letter with the right sound.
