Abstract

The increasing electrification of lifestyles in Indonesia has prompted a shift in consumer preferences, particularly regarding kitchen appliances. Indonesia is currently facing an electricity oversupply issue, hence migrating consumers from traditional Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) stoves to induction stoves offers the potential to enhance electricity utilization and effectively address this predicament. This study aims to investigate the influential factors behind consumers' intentions to switch from traditional LPG stoves to induction stoves. The data were collected from 802 traditional LPG stoves consumers, who are Indonesian citizens, residing across various regions of Indonesia, and have not previously purchased an induction stove to achieve the objective. The collected data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal the importance of Push, Pull, and Mooring factors in motivating consumers to switch from LPG stoves to induction stoves. This research contributes critical insights to academia, industry, and policymakers as well, offering a nuanced understanding of the dynamics influencing this transition in the Indonesian market and playing a pivotal role in addressing the electricity oversupply issue in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to design a development plan for technical competencies in land management, specifically within the Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN) DKI Jakarta Province. The complexity of land issues in urban areas like Jakarta necessitates the improvement of technical competencies among functional land administrators to ensure effective performance and service delivery. Using a qualitative research approach, data was gathered through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research highlights the absence of a structured competency development plan for land administrators and suggests the need for tailored training programs. Findings emphasize the importance of digital literacy, land administration skills, legal expertise, and communication skills to meet the demands of modern land management. The study concludes with recommendations for competency development that aligns with organizational goals, proposing a competency framework tailored to the challenges faced in Jakarta.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of compensation and work-related stress on employee retention, with job satisfaction acting as a mediating factor within Indonesia's guarantee company sector. A quantitative approach was used, involving 216 permanent employees from guarantee companies who had been employed for at least one year. Data was gathered through an online survey using a 5-point Likert scale, and analysis was conducted with SMART PLS. The findings reveal that compensation has a positive impact on job satisfaction, while work stress negatively affects it. Additionally, job satisfaction significantly boosts employee retention. Interestingly, the direct influence of compensation and work stress on employee retention was not statistically significant. However, job satisfaction strongly mediates the relationship between compensation and employee retention (suggesting a positive mediation) as well as the relationship between work stress and employee retention (indicating a negative mediation). These results provide valuable insights into the factors affecting employee retention in the guarantee industry and offer practical suggestions for organizations aiming to improve their retention strategies. This research uniquely integrates compensation, work stress, job satisfaction, and employee retention into one framework, particularly within the less-explored context of the guarantee sector

Abstract

Medical education is an important aspect in developing a country's health system. However, there are still issues that need to be addressed, especially those related to gender and leadership within medical education. The aim of this research is to analyze gender issues and leadership effectiveness in medical education. This study used qualitative research methods. The data collection technique in this research is literature study. The data that has been collected is then analyzed in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that gender issues in medical education reflect the imbalance that occurred when women first entered the medical field at the end of the 19th century. At that time, women focused more on the field of pediatrics because it was more accepted by societal norms at that time. As a result, history records that many early female physicians in the United States preferred to practice pediatric care and women's health. Meanwhile, in the context of leadership in medical education, the various leadership styles that are generally known are democratic, pacesetting, authoritative, affiliate, training and command styles.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a critical global health issue, characterized by high morbidity and mortality rates associated with various complications. In Indonesia, the incidence is projected to reach 28.6 million by 2045, positioning the country among the highest globally. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of barley as a food ingredient on blood sugar levels and pancreatic histopathology. The study involved dividing the mice into six groups, with six mice in each group. These groups were: normal control (K), negative control (KN) induced with alloxan 125 mg/kg BW intraperitoneally, positive control (KP) with oral metformin 9 mg/200 g BW, normal barley rats (P1), DM barley rats (P2), and DM rats with mixed food (P3). Phytochemical screening was also conducted on barley porridge to identify the presence of flavonoids, glycosides, alkaloids, and saponins. The KP and P2 groups were more effective in reducing blood sugar levels than the KN and P3 groups. In the Kruskal-Wallis test, there was no significant difference between groups P2 and KP on postprandial blood sugar levels, indicating that barley produced an effect similar to metformin (p-value = 0.0395). Pancreatic histopathology observations showed that groups P2, P3, and KP had the same damage score of 2. Barley demonstrated a comparable antidiabetic effect to metformin, as evidenced by similar results in blood sugar reduction and pancreatic histopathology scores in the P2 and KP groups

Abstract

The end of the Covid-19 pandemic does not immediately change the economic situation of the community. Various efforts have been made by the government, including enhancing economic conditions at the village level. Since 2015, village funds have been directed toward equitable development, and during the pandemic, their use was prioritized for Covid-19 prevention. To support economic recovery, the government established priority policies for utilizing village funds. This study aims to identify the village government’s strategies in using these funds for economic recovery, as well as the obstacles and supporting factors in implementation, and the impacts felt by the community and the village government. The research was conducted in Taro Village, Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency, using a qualitative descriptive approach through interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants were selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that Taro Village Government’s strategies include food security programs, infrastructure development for agriculture, tourism village development, BLT programs, and labor-intensive programs. Challenges faced include limitations in managing village funds according to community needs and inadequate human resources. Supporting factors include community participation, cooperation between village services and customary institutions, and local natural potential. Positive impacts for the community include job creation and business opportunities, while the village government benefits from CSR assistance from companies to support village programs.
