Abstract

Digital transformation and acceleration during the pandemic and post-COVID-19 pandemic provide a high adaptation challenge for non-profit organizations in increasing their capacity to adopt and utilize digital technology optimally in order to achieve their mission. Amplification of digital literacy can answer the challenge of improving individual technical skills in using digital technology, by involving a collective process in organizations to build understanding in support of common goals. This study aims to find out how organizational communication in the process of amplifying digital literacy in non-profit organizations in understanding, responding to and overcoming digital literacy challenges to achieve their social goals, using the perspective of organizational communication through Karl Edward Weick's sensemaking theory. Karl E. Weick's sensemaking perspective highlights the process that occurs continuously and is influenced by communication with others in understanding the world around us when faced with a new or confusing situation, which encourages the active search for information, trying to understand it, and then deciding how to act based on a common understanding. This case study method analyzes data from interviews, document observations, and literature review, conceptualization and validation of data by triangulation of sources. The study of digital literacy amplification refers to strategic and sustainable efforts to expand reach, increase impact, and ensure the sustainability of programs that aim to improve the ability of individuals and organizations to use digital technology effectively, critically, and responsibly.

Abstract

Barge and tugboat shipping accidents in the Mahakam River and Palembang continue to occur from year to year, causing material losses, fatalities, and disruptions to transportation and economic activities. This problem indicates the existence of dominant factors that need to be thoroughly identified, whether from the aspects of ship technical conditions, human negligence, environmental conditions, or weaknesses in regulation and supervision. This study aims to identify the dominant factors causing accidents through secondary data analysis, which can serve as the basis for recommendations to improve maritime safety. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with documentation techniques to collect secondary data related to barge and tugboat accidents. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with verification. The results of the study indicate that accidents are influenced by three main groups of factors, namely human factors (operator negligence, lack of training, and low safety awareness), technical factors (unseaworthy vessels, engine damage, infrastructure limitations), and natural factors (extreme weather, strong currents, inadequate water depth). The implications of this research underscore the need for integrated measures, including enhancing crew competence, improving shipping infrastructure, implementing early warning systems, and strengthening regulations and oversight. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to reduce accident rates and support the sustainability of river transportation in both regions.

Abstract

This study examines the importance of enhancing the capacity of women before running as legislative candidates in Lumajang Regency by analyzing the Women's Empowerment Index, Gender Index, and educational status of female legislators. The identified problem is that although parties meet a 30% quota for female candidates, this is often viewed as a formal requirement without strong support to ensure their election. The study aims to highlight the need for capacity-building prior to candidacy and propose concrete steps to improve it. Using a descriptive approach with secondary data analysis, the research reviews journals, statistical data, and media reports on women's legislative capacity in Lumajang. The Likert scoring method (1–5) assesses capacity in political knowledge, education, diplomatic skills, and concern for development. Results indicate gender-responsive planning is fairly well implemented but reveal significant gaps in education and institutional support. Female legislators' capacity is adequate but needs improvement, especially in education, diplomacy, and development knowledge. Only two of five female legislators hold bachelor’s degrees; the rest have only high school education, showing an educational gap that hinders effectiveness. Recommendations include increasing access to higher education, continuous training, optimizing empowerment programs, and ensuring that female candidate quotas come with concrete support. This study’s implications strengthen women’s representation and promote gender balance in local politics, contributing to more inclusive and effective governance in Lumajang Regency.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the dental industry, driven by increasing awareness of dental health through government and community health programs, has led to heightened competition among dental clinics across Indonesia. Clinics are adopting various strategies, such as improving service quality, modernizing equipment, and leveraging social media, to attract and retain patients. This study investigates the mediating role of patient satisfaction in the relationship between service quality, cost-effectiveness, staff-related factors, electronic Word of Mouth (eWoM), and revisit intention. Understanding these factors is critical for dental clinics to improve patient experiences, enhance satisfaction, and increase both patient revisit rates and positive eWoM, which serve as essential drivers of clinic success. The study highlights that empathy, dependability, and assurance in service quality significantly impact patient satisfaction, leading to stronger loyalty and advocacy. By focusing on these dynamics, dental clinics can improve service quality and competitiveness in Indonesia's evolving healthcare landscape, particularly in both urban and rural areas where market conditions and patient demands differ.

Abstract

Indonesia's economic progress is experiencing rapid expansion, marked by growth across multiple sectors, particularly in the franchise industry. Amid increasingly fierce competition among similar businesses, companies are required to formulate and implement diverse strategies to anticipate and overcome competitive threats. This [A1] *[A2] study aims to analyze the influence of environmental factors, wage systems, coordination, and worker productivity on the performance of completion time for government building construction projects in Pangkalpinang City. Using the multiple linear regression method, this study found that these factors simultaneously contributed 85.4% to project completion. The analysis results show that the wage factor is the dominant factor with an influence contribution of 72.59%. Therefore, wage system management strategy is the main step in improving the efficiency of project completion time. The proposed solution to optimize the wage system includes the provision of skills-based wages, work duration-based compensation, achievement-based pay, work type differentiation, and the provision of incentives that encourage worker productivity. The results of this study are expected to provide insights for project managers in improving the effectiveness of completion time for government building construction projects.

Abstract

Advances in financial technology, particularly peer-to-peer (P2P) lending, have facilitated easier access to credit for Generation Z. However, this convenience also increases the potential for excessive indebtedness. This study aims to analyze the influence of materialism, financial literacy, and risk perception on the propensity to indebtedness of P2P lending users in Tangerang City. A quantitative approach was employed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with Smart PLS 4. Data were collected from 152 Generation Z respondents who actively used P2P lending services. The analysis results indicate that materialism has a positive and significant effect on the propensity to indebtedness, whereas financial literacy has a negative and significant effect, suggesting that higher financial literacy can reduce the tendency to accumulate debt. Additionally, risk perception significantly influences the propensity to indebtedness, and individuals with lower risk perceptions are more vulnerable to debt. These findings provide insights for regulators and P2P lending service providers when designing financial education strategies and risk mitigation policies to prevent unhealthy borrowing behavior among Generation Z.

Abstract

Customer satisfaction is a condition where customers feel satisfied or happy with the products or services they receive from a company. Improving customer satisfaction services, especially in pharmaceutical businesses such as pharmacies, does not escape the role of product involvement. Apart from the factors related to the products being sold, brand familiarity factors can also provide customer satisfaction when shopping. Apart from these two factors, there is a factor that is no less important, namely consumer attitudes. The phenomenon of consumer attitudes plays an important role in influencing customer satisfaction. This research aims to analyze and test the influence of product involvement, brand familiarity, and consumer attitudes on customer satisfaction. In achieving this goal, this research applies descriptive statistical analysis methods using SEM techniques with the help of SmartPLS software. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the three independent variables, namely Product Involvement, Brand Familiarity, and Consumer Attitudes, have a significant and positive influence on Customer Satisfaction[A1]. This research contributes to developing effective customer satisfaction strategies in pharmaceutical retail, providing insights for pharmacy management to optimize service quality through enhanced product involvement, strengthened brand recognition, and positive consumer attitude formation, ultimately supporting sustainable business growth and competitive advantage in the healthcare sector.

Abstract

Submarine mountains (seamounts) are important geological features formed by volcanic activity on the seafloor. Their identification and mapping play a crucial role in understanding geological dynamics, conserving marine ecosystems, and supporting sustainable resource management. This research focuses on the identification of seamounts in the southern waters of Java, Indonesia, using Multibeam Echosounder (MBES) data. The MBES data were processed and analyzed with Teledyne Marine PDS hydrographic software to produce bathymetric maps and Digital Elevation Models (DEM). The DEM enabled a detailed visualization of the seafloor morphology, including height, slope gradient, and peak shape of the identified seamounts. The analysis also assessed data accuracy in accordance with International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) standards, confirming that the mapping results met IHO accuracy requirements. This methodological approach demonstrates the capability of MBES and PDS processing to generate reliable topographic information for underwater geological studies. The findings highlight the existence of distinct seamounts in the southern Java waters, providing valuable insights into the region’s marine geology. Furthermore, the results contribute to more accurate hydrographic mapping, ecosystem conservation strategies, and sustainable resource exploration in Indonesia. Overall, this study emphasizes the significance of advanced hydrographic technologies in exploring poorly understood seafloor environments and provides a solid reference for future research on submarine topography.
