Abstract

This research aims to analyze the efficiency of banks in Indonesia based on financial ratios in the Group of Banks Based on Core Capital (KBMI) 3 and 4 for the 2021-2024 period. The Network Data Envelopment Analysis (Network DEA) approach is used to measure operational efficiency and profitability comprehensively, with an asset approach to understand the bank's resource optimization. The results of the analysis show that PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk has the highest operational efficiency, while PT Bank Permata Tbk has the lowest. In terms of profitability efficiency, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk recorded the highest value, while PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk recorded the lowest. Overall, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk was the most efficient, while PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk was the lowest.  The panel regression model shows that the ratio of Operating Costs to Operating Income (BOPO), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) has a significant effect on Return on Assets (ROA). This research is expected to be a reference for banks in improving efficiency and competitiveness.

Abstract

This study examines how investors in ASEAN respond to announcements of perpetual bond issuance and whether firm-level characteristics influence the strength of market reactions. Based on 99 announcement events from 2019 and 2021-2024, the analysis employs an event study methodology combined with cross-sectional multiple linear regression. Cumulative abnormal return (CAR) over the (-1, +1) event window is used to capture short-term market responses, and is adjusted through one-sided winsorization to mitigate the influence of extreme positive values. The results show a significantly positive average CAR, suggesting that investors generally react favorably to such announcements. In the main regression model, the debt to equity ratio (DER) has a significant negative effect on CAR, while market return prior to the announcement (MR) has a significant positive effect. Other variables, including book to market ratio (BM), return on assets (ROA), and bond rating, are not statistically significant. Additional analysis with sector dummies reveals stronger responses for financial firms and a significant effect for BM, while country dummies show no notable variation across ASEAN markets. These findings suggest that capital structure and sectoral context play important roles in shaping investor perceptions of hybrid financing instruments such as perpetual bonds.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of stock valuation approaches, specifically the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Multiples Valuation methods (P/E, EV/EBITDA), to determine the intrinsic value of PT XYZ shares in the context of its planned Initial Public Offering (IPO). Although stock valuation is a crucial element in the IPO process, most previous literature focuses on public companies and specific industry sectors, with limited discussion on state-owned construction enterprises (BUMN Karya) within the construction sector. This study contributes theoretically to the stock valuation literature in the construction services sector through a qualitative approach using an exploratory case study on PT XYZ. The DCF analysis is conducted by projecting cash flows using the Free Cash Flow to the Firm (FCFF) approach, discounted by the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC), and estimating the share value based on market multiples (P/E and EV/EBITDA). The study also conducts scenario analyses (pessimistic, moderate, optimistic) and sensitivity analyses on key variables such as revenue and cost of goods sold (COGS) to assess the robustness of the valuation under varying assumptions. The results show that the intrinsic value of the shares based on the DCF method ranges from Rp6,627 to Rp28,239 per share, while the multiples valuation yields a range between Rp15,786 and Rp16,868, closely aligning with the moderate DCF scenario result of Rp15,880. These findings highlight the importance of valuation approaches in generating more ideal and realistic share price estimates prior to an IPO.

Abstract

Invasive procedures remain the gold standard for lung cancer diagnosis, while new cases in 2018 reached 30,023 patients and tend to occur at a younger age, necessitating non-invasive markers for early detection of lung cancer. Currently, numerous studies have been conducted on microRNA (miRNA) as a lung cancer biomarker, including miRNA-19; however, research findings on miRNA-19 in the diagnosis of this disease remain controversial, prompting this study to assess the ability of miRNA-19 to detect lung cancer through a meta-analysis. Literature searches were conducted in three databases (PubMed, Science Direct, and Cochrane) up to March 22, 2023, using the Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome (PICO) principle, with inclusion criteria for prospective, retrospective, case-control, or cross-sectional studies providing data for analyzing the diagnostic capability of miRNA-19. The methods used adhere to the 2020 PRISMA guidelines. Analysis was performed using STATA, MetaDisc, and Review Manager software. Four articles met the inclusion criteria for this meta-analysis. The combined analysis results regarding the sensitivity of miRNA-19 in lung cancer diagnosis reached 0.81 (95% CI [confidence interval]: 0.76–0.85), specificity 0.69 (95% CI: 0.61–0.76), diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) 12.62 (95% CI: 4.73–33.65), and area under the curve (AUC) 0.85. Analysis of the positive likelihood ratio (PLR) and negative likelihood ratio (NLR) yielded results... Analysis of the positive likelihood ratio (PLR) and negative likelihood ratio (NLR) yielded results 2.51 (95% CI: 1.59–3.95) and 0.29 (95% CI: 0.18–0.48). Based on the above data, miRNA-19 has potential in the non-invasive diagnosis of lung cancer.

Abstract

Data leaks are not only the responsibility of the government but also a shared responsibility individually. In July 2024, Kominfo experienced a ransomware attack that had an impact on the leak of people's personal data. Various responses from netizens on social media X pressured the government to immediately handle this case firmly. This study aims to look at the interactions formed in social media users X through a review of digital discourse on Kominfo's response in overcoming data leaks through the SCCT Coombs model. This study uses the digital discourse analysis method by analyzing the response of netizens in X in responding to the handling of the Kominfo crisis in the period of July 2024 – May 2025. The results of this study found a tendency of negative public sentiment towards the handling of the Kominfo crisis. Public response is influenced by perceived experience, cognition, and expectations to the government for handling data leaks. This research provides development insights for communication crisis practitioners and organizations, especially Kominfo, to optimize their communication crisis strategies based on digital media.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the relationship between civil servant transfer policies, including job rotation and mutation, and employee performance in public sector. While such policies aim to enhance workforce flexibility, skill diversification, and career development, they may also cause job dissatisfaction, decreased motivation, and knowledge loss if poorly implemented. To assess the impact of structured and unstructured transfer systems on civil servant performance, a comprehensive analysis of 30 peer-reviewed studies from 2015 to 2025 was conducted using the PRISMA framework. The findings indicate that merit-based and well-planned job rotations generally improve employee adaptability, engagement, and productivity. Conversely, politically influenced or arbitrary transfers often lead to inefficiencies, demotivation, and organizational instability. The review underscores the pivotal function of knowledge management and transparent policies in mitigating the adverse impacts of transfers and ensuring institutional continuity. The review also identifies key research gaps, including the need for longitudinal studies on performance outcomes, the psychological effects of job rotation, and comparative analyses across different public sector institutions. These insights underscore the necessity of formulating evidence-based, equitable, and strategically devised transfer policies that achieve a balance between institutional requirements and employee well-being. Future research endeavors should prioritize the optimizations of transfer frameworks to enhance performance, ensure the retention of knowledge, and cultivate sustainable public sector governance.

Abstract

The BRILiaN Village Empowerment Program is a corporate social and environmental responsibility initiative implemented by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk from 2021 to 2024. This program aims to strengthen rural development through training, infrastructure assistance, and business cluster development. Over its four-year implementation, the program has generated tangible impacts on local communities. To evaluate its effectiveness, an impact assessment was conducted using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology combined with the Indeks Kepuasan Masyarakat (IKM). This dual approach provides multidimensional analysis, not only quantifying the social value created but also capturing beneficiaries’ satisfaction. The SROI analysis produced a ratio of 2.31, meaning that every IDR 1 invested generated IDR 2.31 in social value. Meanwhile, the IKM result reached 85.53%, categorized as “good,” reflecting high community satisfaction. The findings highlight that integrating SROI with IKM offers a comprehensive framework to measure the impact of CSR-based empowerment programs, ensuring that social, economic, and community perspectives are equally represented.

Abstract

PT Mandiri Utama Finance (MUF), as the youngest automotive financing company in Indonesia, has successfully recorded assets exceeding IDR 10 trillion and competes with major players in the industry. However, the company experienced a significant decline in financing volume, not only among new consumers but also within the Additional Order (AO) and Repeat Order (RO) segments, which are vital components of MUF’s customer ecosystem. This downturn is also reflected in the declining scores of the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Net Promoter Score (NPS). This study aims to explore the implementation of the Electronic Customer Relationship Management (E-CRM) program in shaping Positive Word of Mouth (PWOM) among MUF customers. Using a descriptive case study method with a qualitative approach, this research employs data analysis and in-depth interviews with key personnel involved in the E-CRM system. The theoretical framework is based on Lasswell’s communication model (Who Says What In Which Channel To Whom With What Effect) to map MUF's communication strategies, and the Stimulus-Response Theory to explain how digital messages influence customer behavior through prior interactions and experiences. The findings reveal that the suboptimal integration of the E-CRM system and the limited consumer engagement initiatives, such as loyalty programs and testimonial-driven campaigns, hinder the spread of PWOM. This research offers practical insights into enhancing customer-centered digital communication strategies.
