Abstract

The purpose of the research was to study the effect of biourine on soybean plant growth, and to obtain the concentration of biourine that can increase soybean growth. To achieve the objectives, the research was designed using a completely randomized design. The treatments consisted of, A = No Biourine, B = 100 ml biourine/1 liter of water, C = 200 ml biourine/1 liter of water. Each treatment was repeated four times resulting in 12 experimental pots. The parameters observed were the number of leaves and the number of soybean branches. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and 5% BNT test. The results showed that the application of biourine increased the growth of soybean plants as indicated by plant height and the number of leaves with three branches. The concentration of 100 ml biourine/1 liter of water increased the growth of soybean plants.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the pathogenicity of the entomopathogenic fungus M. anisopliae in infecting S. litura. The research was conducted over a period of 3 months, from February to May 2024. It took place at the Kalasey Biological Agents Laboratory, Balai Perlindungan dan Pengujian Mutu Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura (BPPMTPH) in North Sulawesi Province. The study employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments, each replicated 4 times. The number of samples per replication was 20 larvae, resulting in a total of 80 larvae per treatment. Data were analyzed using probit analysis and ANOVA followed by Least Significance Different (LSD) test at a 5% significance level. The results indicated that the pathogenicity of the entomopathogenic fungus M. anisopliae could infect S. litura larvae as early as one day after application. The concentration of 108 conidia/ml was highly effective, achieving 100% mortality within 6 days of application. The fastest LT50 value was observed at the concentration of 108 conidia/ml, which required only 2.8 days, while the LC50 value was found at a concentration of 107.6 conidia/ml.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of auxin type and concentration on the growth and development of orchid plants. The research was conducted at the Tissue Culture Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University Manado, and was carried out over 2 months from July to August 2023. This study used a factorial experiment in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 replications consisting of two factors. The first factor is the type of auxin: IAA (A1), NAA (A2), and IBA (A3), and the second factor is the concentration of each auxin: 1 ml/l (K1), 2 ml/l (K2), and 3 ml/l (K3). The data were analyzed using analysis of variance, and if the results were significant, a 5% Least Significant Difference (LSD) test was conducted. The results showed that there was an interaction between the type and concentration of auxin on variables such as the number of roots, root length, root emergence time, number of leaves, number of shoots, and shoot height. Similarly, there was an effect of auxin concentration on each type of auxin, but there was a significant effect of individual auxin types (IAA, NAA, and IBA) on the root formation of Dendrobium mirbelianum orchids, affecting variables such as the number of roots, root length, root emergence time, number of leaves, number of shoots, and shoot height.

The research period was from April to May 2024, encompassing preparation through to the completion of the research report. Data collection methods involved primary data obtained through surveys, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to respondents. Secondary data was collected from journals, theses, and relevant research. The sampling method used was purposive sampling, with a total of 43 respondents selected based on specific criteria using Slovin's formula. The analysis was performed using multiple linear regression with the help of IBM SPSS 26 software. The results indicate that the use of audiovisual media has an impact on farmers' knowledge and skills. The F-test significance value is 0.035, which means the independent variables have a simultaneous effect on the dependent variable. Farmers use audiovisual media to learn agricultural information with the help of applications such as YouTube, Facebook, Google, TikTok, and Instagram, with content including educational materials, tutorials, and promotions.
