Abstract

EMPOWERING VILLAGE COMMUNITIES THROUGH OPENING LTE/4G-BASED INTERNET ACCESS AND DISSEMINATING WISE INTERNET UTILIZATION IN BALEKAMBANG VILLAGE, JONGGOL DISTRICT, BOGOR REGENCY, WEST JAVA. Balekambang Village is a village located in Jonggol District, Bogor Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. The name Balekambang comes from the words Bale and Kambang/Ngambang. Bale means a place or building that is in the water and Kambang or Ngambang. So Balekambang is a building in the middle of water or swamp. It is planned that this sub-district will join the East Bogor Regency. From the results of interviews that have been carried out with the Balekambang Village Head, that the problems faced in the area are internet access that is difficult to access and the lack of knowledge and benefits of internet facilities. We, from the lecturers, who were assisted by a number of students from the University of Nusa Mandiri through Community Service activities with good consideration, to provide solutions to overcome the problems faced by Balekambang Village by empowering the village through the opening of new Internet access with LTE/4G-based modem devices and socialization Utilization of the Internet for the community in Jonggo District, Bogor, West Java. We do this with the first objective being to provide internet access assistance so that it can be freely accessed for the people of Balekambang Village through the installation of cheap LTE/4G Modem-based access with easy installation and the second goal is to provide socialization of the use and use of the internet properly and efficiently. wise. With the Community Service activities in Balekambang Village, it is hoped that the community can understand and use them properly and directed towards the facilities that have been provided and are able to use them properly and wisely for the procurement of these internet facilities.

Abstract

Guntung Paikat village is one of the villages located in Banjarbaru city of South Kalimantan, Indonesia. According to data from the central statistics agency of Banjarbaru city 2018, the population in 2017 amounted to 9,922 people with a population density of 4,017 inhabitants per square kilometer. Population density can have an impact on the decrease in environmental quality. Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry year 2016 No. P.68 that any business or activity that produces domestic wastewater must conduct wastewater treatment resulting from such activities. The results of the analysis of existing conditions in the village Guntung paikat domestic wastewater treatment is still not doused, only using septic tanks to dispose of blackwater waste. While greywater waste is disposed of directly into drainage channels or directly flowed into the river. The purpose of this planning and design is to analyze the existing conditions of the planning area, plan and design wastewater treatment units with constructed wetland systems and estimate the necessary cost budget plans. The units planned at wastewater treatment plants with constructed wetland systems are grease trap units, fastening troughs, and constructed wetland. The Cost Budget Plan required in the construction of Constructed Wetland System in block 1 amounted to Rp.94,328,929.73 and in block 2 amounted to Rp.117,863,128.90.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on society, especially in the field of education. Various educational activities are carried out online, so the Service Team holds online AutoCAD 3D training activities to add insight into education and technical design for communities affected by Covid-19. The stages of the program that have been implemented are, the first stage of pre-training which consists of an online survey to communities affected by COVID-19, the design of the AutoCAD 3D training module, and preparation of making online media such as websites, Instagram, and YouTube. The second stage is training which consists of registration of affected communities, online media publications, and online training using online media meetings that are integrated with websites, Instagram, and YouTube. The third stage is post-training in the form of an evaluation to analyze the satisfaction of people who have attended AutoCAD 3D Online training. The results of the analysis of community satisfaction with the facilitators, facilities, presenters, and materials stated that they were 100% very satisfied and satisfied. In addition, the training was also 100% running as expected based on the results of the participant's evaluation.

Abstract

ASSISTANCE FOR ASSA’ADAH ISLAMIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN USING MEDIA CONFERENCES AS DISTANCE LEARNING MEDIA FACILITIES. The development of features in the media conference and various types of media conferences available further adds to the problems in the implementation of distance learning, especially in teachers who experience stuttering technology becomes its own problem in the implementation of distance learning in Assa’adah Islamic Elementary School of Jakarta. This we realize to be the basis of devotion to conduct training in optimizing various media conferences as a means of online learning to teachers with the target of participants able to master several media conferences (Zoom, google meet, Teams) that we teach as a solution to problems that exist in learning.

Abstract

The most common pest control carried out in the city of Tasikmalaya is by using synthetic pesticides. The concept of integrated pest control (IPM) in the community aims to suppress the use of synthetic pesticides. Application of IPM can be implemented by integrating various types of compatible controls based on economic, ecological, and social considerations. The use of light traps is one of IPM components that easy to implement to monitor the presence of insects in an agroecosystem. The use of this light-trapping technology received a positive response from partner communities, agricultural extension workers, and local governments. Based on the data collected during the implementation of this program, it is known that there is an increase in knowledge and skills and the use of light trapping technology in the partner community. There is an increase in knowledge related to terms and the use of light traps by 100%, an increase in knowledge about the time of applying light traps by 37.5%, an increase in respondents skills in assembling simple light traps by 100%, and the application of light trapping technology by partner communities by 88.9 %.

Abstract

TRAİNİNG FOR SPECİAL EDUCATORS ON TEACHİNG CUTTİNG SKİLLS İN LAMPUNG. Scissor skills in children with special needs have challenges and problems for teachers in special schools. Children with sensomotory problems often experience difficulty in scissor skills. In fact, cutting plays a role in training fine motor skills, especially writing. This activity aims to educate and provide understanding to special school teachers about teaching scissor skills for children with special needs. The subjects in the activity were special school teachers in Lampung. The activity was carried out online for two meetings. The training is in the form of material presentation, demonstration videos, question and answer, and assignments. The first material consists of the concept of cutting, the development of scissors skills in children, assessment of cutting skills, stages of teaching scissors and cutting worksheets. The results of the activity evaluation showed an increase in the participants' abilities related to scissors knowledge, the results of good participant assignments, and positive and constructive feedback.

Abstract

Managing family finances is unquestionably critical, even more so for low-income families. The issue is that many low-income families are characterized by family heads who are either uneducated or lack basic skills of family finance management. The goal of the activities is to ascertain the beneficiary community's need for financial management, to provide training in managing family finances to low-income families, and to evaluate the training. The targeted communities are people with a low to moderate income who live in the Padalarang-West Java region. Three techniques are utilized depending on the number of activity objectives. The first objective is accomplished by in-depth interviews with community leaders, the second objective is accomplished through training, and the third objective is accomplished through questionnaire analysis. The study's findings indicated that the community required an understanding of and capacity for managing family finances, particularly during a pandemic. This comprehension and capability were acquired through the training provided, which, according to participants, was highly effective.

Abstract

Conducted in a 2-hour online workshop session format in November 2021, this community service program aims to share my practical experiences as an Indonesian researcher on finding current research topics, specifically in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching and learning. The participants of this online workshop were seventeen (17) lecturers in the English Language Education program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Conducted synchronously in a Zoom platform, the workshop started with my presentation on three main points: (1) “my ways” in finding research topics, (2) my published articles that might provide writing ideas for the participants, and (3) reasons why the participants need to write and publish their work in an academic journal. This presentation session was ended by a question and answer session from the participants. Some reflective questions for Indonesian researchers and ideas for future community service programs were also presented.

Abstract

Diversification of fisheries product processing is a way of processing raw materials into final products that have various types. Fish raw materials can be processed into various products such as fish crackers, fish nuggets and fish balls. The product manufacturing training activity at the Rhaudaul Ulum Sakatiga Islamic boarding school went well, the students and the surrounding community were enthusiastic about the training in making fishery diversification products. Diversified fishery products made include mackerel fish balls, catfish nuggets and cork fish crackers. Participants' interest was shown by the participants actively asking questions and participating in demonstrations and actively participating during the training process.

Abstract

Fish Under Crew, a group of fish farmers located at Pulau Semambu, Indralaya Utara, Ogan Ilir. It rears several fish commodities including catfish. The knowledge of fish farmers about best aquaculture practices are still low and cost production become main problem for them. Therefore, community service held on Aquaculture Department, Sriwijaya University conducted an alternative solution to solved its problem by providing information and pilot culture about fasting and refeeding with probiotic in catfish. The community service was carried out in July-August 2021. The fasting interval was one day then refeeding with commercial pellet enriched by probiotic. Day of culture was 30 days and it compared with batch control which was daily fed without probiotic. Prior and after community service, the fish farmers were interviewed about their knowledge. During fish rearing, the fish farmers also learnt about fish rearing parameters such as growth, survival rate, feed conversion ratio (FCR) and water quality. In the end of culture, fish farmers stated that they were willing to apply the technology.
