Abstract

In developing the economy of the people in the era of globalization with high competitive power requires the right approach. The partnership model is one way to improve community competitiveness, especially in the small business sector. However, in realizing and developing a partnership model, it will be very difficult to apply if it is only carried out by the community independently, especially the lower classes of society. The presence of the Government and third parties is needed in helping to establish partnerships. It is essential to initiate the realization of business partnerships among the community. The role of Religious and Social Organizations as third parties has proven to have a significant contribution in advancing the nation, especially in the fields of education, health, and social assistance. So it is necessary to maximize the role of religious and social organizations in encouraging economic development of the community through coaching and partnerships. Persyarikatan Muhammadiyah, which is engaged in the socio-religious field, has shown its contribution to enlightenment, empowerment, and advancement that provides benefits for the people as a manifestation of the da'wah of Amar Ma'ruf Nahi Mungkar. Syirkah Amanah gas station is one manifestation of Muhammadiyah's involvement in the empowerment and economic development of the community. The purpose of this study was to reveal the partnership model applied by the Muhammadiyah Regional Leader of Lumajang at the Syirkah Amanah Gas Station to be able to find the right and appropriate business partnership model to be implemented in the community. The research approach used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research approach that seeks to explore and find the main objectives of the research. Abstract

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) conducted the 2019 National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK), and the results showed that while conventional financial literacy is at 67.1%, Sharia financial literacy among Indonesian students is still significantly lower at 31.5%. This study looked at how undergraduate students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Syiah Kuala, in the even semester of the 2022–2023 academic year, perceived their level of Sharia financial literacy about their gender, grade point average (GPA), financial education in postsecondary institutions, and parental financial education. With 97 respondents in total, probability sampling using a straightforward random sample technique was used for primary data. Multiple linear regression analysis results showed that although other variables showed no discernible influence, financial education in higher education had a significant and favorable impact, appearing as the major factor determining Sharia financial literacy. As such, it is advised that teachers incorporate Sharia financial education into their curricula to improve students' comprehension, which may then be reflected in their grade point average. Furthermore, in addition to pupils' learning efforts, parents are encouraged to offer further support in educating their children about Sharia money. Keywords: Sharia Financial Literacy, Gender, Grade Point Average, Financial Learning, Financial Education.

Abstract

The spectrum of the halal ecosystem can be developed through collaboration between Islamic microfinance and the halal industry. This idea needs to be substantiated through published scientific research to trace its role and development. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic microfinance in the development of the halal industry in D-8 Islamic countries through published international research. The research employs bibliometric analysis using the VOSviewer application. The data for this study consists of 100 articles from 2018 to 2023, collected from international journal platforms most frequently used by scholars. The findings of this study reveal that research trends on the role of Islamic microfinance primarily focus on poverty alleviation, economic empowerment, and economic sustainability in D-8 countries. However, there is no specific discussion on the role of Islamic microfinance in the halal industry. Additionally, the study identifies obstacles faced by Islamic microfinance institutions in supporting the development of the halal industry, including (1) production, authentication, and certification; (2) ownership and control; (3) training and capacity building; and (4) anti-halal groups and economic Islamophobia. The implications of this research can serve as a reference for identifying future research gaps. Keywords: Islamic microfinance, Halal industry, Poverty alleviation.

Abstract

This study explains the concept of tadlis (fraudulent misrepresentation) occurring in e-marketplaces, specifically among sellers of plain t-shirts. This is done to ensure that the public is not easily deceived by products sold in online markets. Fraud is more likely to occur in online markets compared to offline markets due to the absence of face-to-face transactions. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a literature review, drawing on various references related to the issue. In addition, observations were made in the Shopee e-marketplace, particularly among plain t-shirt sellers. The author found that the materials sold did not match the descriptions, allowing sellers to sell products at prices below the average market rate. Based on the results of this study, when linked to the theory of market distortion (tadlis), it can be interpreted that distortions in the Shopee e-marketplace, especially in the sale of plain t-shirt products, still occur frequently. This not only harms buyers but also disadvantages other sellers who offer products at average prices and with clear quality. Therefore, as a buyer or consumer, it is important to understand the products being purchased and not be attracted to the low prices offered by sellers in e-marketplaces. This study delivers an important message to increase consumer awareness and educate them about the potential for fraud in online trading, while also encouraging the importance of transparency and honesty in selling on e-marketplaces. Keywords: Market Distortion, e-marketplace, Tadlis, Islamic Economics.

Abstract

This research was aimed at examining the response made by the ulama (Islamic religious scholars) of the Madura Branch of the NU and to find out their reactions to the MUI fatwa concerning cash wakaf. This research was classified as qualitative. The sample for this research consisted of 101 religious scholars of the Madura branch of the NU. The research was conducted in the form of surveys and interviews with these Madura NU members, to ascertain their arguments. The results of the research obtained showed convincingly that the majority of NU religious scholars accept and agree with the MUI Fatwa concerning cash wakaf, in that the response “agree” (Setuju – S) received the highest percentage return for all items, recording positive results between 40% and 60%, whilst the percentages for the response “strongly agree” (sangat setuju - SS) was the second strongest, receiving between 19% and 48% support. Based upon the results of the interviews conducted by the researchers with the NU Madura theologians, it was their opinion that the MUI Fatwa concerning cash wakaf fulfils the requirements of Islamic religious law. Not only that, but these scholars were also of the opinion that a cash wakaf can be a beneficial social instrument and may assist in overcoming social problems in their regions. The implication of this study is that the validity of the MUI fatwa can be widely accepted among local scholars, providing a strong legal foundation for the development of cash waqf in Indonesia, particularly in Madura. This fatwa is not only recognized as valid according to Islamic law, but also serves as a basis for the acceptance of cash waqf by the public as a legitimate and effective charitable instrument Keywords: Nahdhatul Ulama’, Fatwa Commission, Cash Wakaf, Madura.
