Abstract

The management of Hang Nadim Batam International Airport must be able to provide facilities that are appropriate for the comfort of flight service users. This is because Batam's Hang Nadim International Airport will experience an increase in the number of passenger traffic movements by 15% from 2022. This research aims to determine the effect of the availability of seating facilities in the curb area on the comfort of aviation service users at Hang Nadim International Airport Batam. This research uses a quantitative approach, a data collection method by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The sample in this study was 100 respondents with criteria >17 years and over who had used the facilities in the corridor area (curb) with data analysis using the SPSS 25 system. The results of this research show that the availability of seating facilities in the lobby area has a significant positive effect on the comfort of flight service users at Batam's Hang Nadim International Airport. This is shown by the results of data acquisition with a value of tcount > ttable, namely 10.355 > 1.984.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain how travelers view Wings Air's use of paid luggage at the Hajji Hassan Aroeboesman Ende Airport. Airlines may learn a lot from passenger impressions about the use of paid luggage, including whether aspects of the current policy require further examination. At the Hajji Hassan Aroeboesman Ende Airport, the research was carried out. The study employed a quantitative survey methodology. The population of this study consisted of all Wing Air passengers at Hajji Hassan Aroeboesman Ende Airport; the sample consisted of 100 passengers who used paid luggage. Pearson Product Moment was used to assess the validity of the questionnaire technique in obtaining the data, as well as the validity of it using Cronbach's Alpha. In order to determine the category of passenger perception, the mean value of the test variable was calculated using descriptive analytic techniques on the gathered data. With a mean score of 3.23, the study's findings demonstrated that passengers' perceptions of the Hajji Hassan Aroeboesman Airport's implementation of paid luggage were deemed "Pretty Good" by the participants. A perception is considered “Quite Good” if it is sufficient and meets user expectations. On the other hand, perceptions that are Fairly Good, Very Good, and Not Good are highly valuable for airlines to maintain review by taking into consideration consumer concerns about the airline's rules so that going forward it even better.

Abstract

Supervision of minimum passenger service standards carried out by air transport inspectors aims to ensure safety and adequate service in the aviation industry in accordance with Ministerial Regulation (PM) Number 30 of 2021 which regulates minimum service standards for air transport passengers. Monitoring minimum service standards by air transport inspectors is part of efforts to ensure that airlines comply with the requirements set out in regulations. This research was conducted from January to April 2024. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data analysis technique method can be carried out in four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data collection is reviewed directly through interviews, observations, and documentation at the Surabaya Region III Airport Authority. This research provides results on the role of Air Transport Inspectors in implementing supervision of minimum service standards for air transport passengers at Juanda International Airport, Surabaya. Air transport inspectors carry out scheduled supervision planned in the work program to ensure the implementation of airline compliance in implementing aviation regulations. The obstacle faced is the inability to carry out continuous monitoring, especially when there is no physical presence at the airport. A mechanism is needed to monitor operations regularly and efficiently. The suitability of airline SOPs to field conditions at the airport also needs to be considered so that operations run efficiently. Good coordination between airlines and increased communication are needed to overcome the impact of these changes.

Abstract

The progress of Angkasa Pura II shows the rapid use and improvement of the airport service business through the addition of various infrastructure improvements and facilities at the airports managed by the company. In addition to providing the facilities needed by its passengers at the airport but also improving the performance of its officers. PT Angkasa Pura has a unit responsible for overseeing facilities at the airport, namely the Terminal Inspection Service (TIS) unit which is authorized to monitor and ensure the smooth operation of airport terminal facilities. The research method was carried out by distributing questionnaires to passengers as subjects. This research is quantitative in nature using purposive sampling technique in distributing questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out by simple linear regression as well as descriptive analysis. For data processing, researchers used SPSS version 27 software. Based on the research results, the regression coefficient value of the Performance variable is 0.631. This indicates that there is a positive influence between performance and passenger satisfaction. In other words, the higher the performance, the higher the level of passenger satisfaction that can be achieved. The t value is 7.921 with a significant value of 0.000 <0.05. For the coefficient of determination, it was found that the TIS Officer Performance variable had an influence of 39% on the Passenger Satisfaction variable. The results of the descriptive analysis of the performance of TIS officers have an average that shows a high score classification, which means that passenger satisfaction has reached a good standard suitability for supervision of terminal facilities at Banyuwangi International Airport.

Abstract

I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, Bali, is one of the busiest airports in Indonesia. The high volume of passengers has the potential to cause issues such as flight delays. Handling these delays requires serious attention, which falls under the responsibility of various airport units, one of which is the terminal service officer (TSO) unit. This research aims to analyze the standard operating procedures (SOP) implemented by the TSO unit in handling delays at the domestic terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport by understanding the existing SOPs. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The data used includes both primary and secondary data. Primary data is obtained from observations and interviews, while secondary data comes from SOPs, photos, and regulations related to the issues being studied. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. To test the validity of the data, triangulation techniques are used.

Abstract

The implementation and effectiveness of the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) airworthiness test procedure were studied in this study. The selected research location was Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport, Balikpapan. The independent variables reviewed were the Ground Support Equipment airworthiness test and the performance of the Ground Support Operator, while the dependent variable was operational safety on the airside. The study included the presence or absence of the influence of these variables, either partially or simultaneously. If there is, how big is the influence. A quantitative approach was used in analyzing 60 questionnaire data samples, which were distributed among employees of the AMC and AVSEC units. The quantitative technique used descriptive analysis, validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, multiple linear analysis test, F test, T test, and determination coefficient analysis. Data processing was carried out in SPSS software version 23. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the average of the airworthiness test variable was 4.38, the performance variable was 4.12 and the safety variable was 3.70. The results of the hypothesis testing show that H0 is rejected while H1 is accepted. The coefficient of determination is 0.217.

Abstract

This paper investigates the handling of dangerous goods on flights that often occur. Security problems at the airport can be seen from the many incidents that disrupt flight activities to and from the airport. Each airline has its own standard operating procedure (SOP). In this study, the differences in SOPs between two airlines - namely Citilink Indonesia and Lion Air - at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport will be studied, especially in terms of handling dangerous goods. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, because the description of the data is expressed in the form of words. The data collected will be reduced and presented, then conclusions will be drawn from the presentation of the data. The results show that handling dangerous goods certainly has a very high risk, therefore airport officers need to carry out their duties according to SOP. Each officer must be supervised in working, where training in the involvement of handling dangerous goods on aircraft is the main requirement beforehand.

Abstract

Halu Oleo Airport in Kendari plays a crucial role in enhancing community mobility and fostering local economic growth in the city. With an increasing number of passengers, there is a clear need for facilities that can improve service quality and enhance passenger travel comfort. One such facility is the aviobridge, which provides easier access for passengers during the boarding and deboarding processes compared to using manual stairs or Passenger Boarding Stairs (PBS). This research aims to examine whether there is an influence of the aviobridge facility on the comfort of users at Kendari Airport. This study employs a quantitative method, focusing solely on the use of the aviobridge facility and the comfort of passengers during boarding and deboarding. The population of the research encompasses all passengers utilizing the jet bridge at Halu Oleo Airport. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents, as well as documentation, literature studies, and data from the AMC unit, utilizing both primary and secondary data types. After data collection, the data were analyzed descriptively and processed using SPSS with testing techniques such as instrument testing, hypothesis testing, and determination coefficient analysis. The research findings indicate a positive influence between the use of the jet bridge facility and passenger comfort. This is based on the T-test results, which showed that the calculated T (17.840) is greater than the table T (1.984) with a significance value of 0.000 (< 5% or 0.05). Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Furthermore, the effect size of the aviobridge facility variable (X) is 73.2% on the passenger comfort variable (Y), based on the determination coefficient test results. Descriptive analysis reveals that the statement with the lowest average score is "The interior design of the aviobridge feels modern and is visually appealing" (4.08), followed by "The air conditioning system functions well" (4.15). Based on these findings, it is recommended that Halu Oleo Airport pay more attention to the interior design of the aviobridge and conduct regular maintenance of the air conditioning system to enhance passenger comfort. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of using the ICAP information system technology on employee performance at the Office of Airport Authority Region X Merauke. In this era of technological advancement, the use of information systems is an essential element in improving organizational performance. The research uses a quantitative descriptive approach, involving the distribution of questionnaires to 50 employees who use the ICAP system. Data analysis was carried out through instrument testing, classical assumption tests, and simple linear regression analysis using SPSS software. The results showed that the use of the ICAP information system technology had a significant positive effect on employee performance, with a contribution value of 60.9%, while the remaining 39.9% was influenced by other factors outside the research. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) theory supports this finding, stating that the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of technology positively affect user acceptance and performance. This study recommends that continuous training and evaluation of the ICAP system be conducted to optimize employee competence and system effectiveness. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of information technology implementation strategies in government institutions, especially in the aviation sector.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the concern of the Bondowoso Regency Government which is less concerned about Banyumas Regency in promoting one of its leading tourist attractions, namely the Ijen Crater. The Ijen Crater has been designated as part of the World Geopark. Currently, many local and foreign tourists make the Ijen Crater a tourist destination in Banyumas because it is located in two regions. The purpose of this study was first to determine the management of social media by the @disparbudpora_bondowoso account, and second to determine the impact and results of social media management in promoting tourism in Bondowoso Regency. This study uses a qualitative method. Data were collected using observation techniques, direct interviews, and documentation. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the tourism promotion strategy implemented by the Disparbudpora is quite good in providing informative and interesting content, but there are obstacles in conducting evaluations, namely that it is not optimal. The impact of the management of the Bondowoso Disparbudpora social media in promoting tourism in Bondowoso Regency can be seen from the response of followers in the comments column, likes, and the reach achieved by the @disparbudpora_bondowoso Instagram account. The result of social media management by Disparbudpora is that its followers obtain relevant and quality information.
