Abstract

Background: Compiled this research with the aim of describing and explaining the difficulties of students, especially UMS PGSD students in preparing learning media Method: This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Research using the case study method tries to discuss as deeply as possible the subject you want to research, then describe it in more detail, by understanding as deeply as possible an individual, a group, or a phenomenon. This research is intended to provide a complete and in-depth view of the subject to be researched. Result: The results show that the learning media prepared by students have problems encountered. In fact, in the preparation of instructional media students are sometimes asked to compile in groups so that problems or obstacles faced by these students arise. This causes learning media to know the obstacles and how to overcome them. Implication: The implications of this study are learning by media in Indonesia should enrich the teachers' knowledge and insight related to learning medias. Novelty: The present study revealed the implementation of learning media and constraints in education.

Abstract

Background: The transition from online to face-to-face learning after the COVID-19 pandemic has presented new challenges, particularly in implementing authentic assessment. This research aims to explore how authentic assessment is conducted post-pandemic, the obstacles teachers encounter, and strategies employed to overcome these challenges. Method: This study utilized a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews and documentation analysis from sixth-grade teachers and the principal of SD Negeri 2 Jatisawit, Jatiyoso District. Data validity was ensured using source and methodological triangulation, while analysis was performed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Result: Authentic assessment implementation post-pandemic involved clearly defined standards aligned with lesson plans (RPP), diversified assessment tasks (portfolio, projects, performance, written assessments), and systematically developed criteria and rubrics. Obstacles identified included disparities in student abilities, limited assessment time, inadequate infrastructure, and limited technological skills among teachers and students. Teachers addressed these by implementing differentiated instruction, utilizing median standards, providing enrichment and remediation, enhancing assignment creativity, and improving their technological competence. Implication: The findings suggest practical approaches for teachers and school administrators to effectively implement authentic assessment, addressing the diverse needs of students and limitations of available resources in post-pandemic situations. Novelty: This study provides specific strategies for differentiated authentic assessment, uniquely adapted to address challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic in an elementary education setting

The research objective was to improve the learning outcomes of PGSD students by optimizing the use of fast tricks. Thus, it is hoped that students can gain more meaningful knowledge and achieve better learning outcomes. Method: This study used the classroom action research (PTK) method which was carried out directly by the researcher with cycles of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Result: The research was conducted at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta with research subjects in the form of 10 fourth semester PGSD students. It is hoped that this research can contribute to increasing understanding and learning achievement of PGSD students. The fast trick method is still used, and there is an increase in the percentage of completeness resulting from understanding the basic science concepts. Implication: The implications of this study are: First, the elementary schools' headmasters in Indonesia should enrich the teachers' knowledge and insight related to PTK and fast trick. Second, the government, supported by researchers, has to design an excellent assessment system to solve time limitations. Novelty: The present study revealed the implementation of fast trick in elementary school comprehensively.
