Abstract

The golden period in human development is important because environmental stimulation and effective educational management are key factors in achieving optimal growth. The main issues discussed in this study are the effectiveness of administration in managing educational programs, the effectiveness of Human Resources (HR), and difficulties in policy implementation. This study aims to analyse school administration strategies that can improve the physical and motor development of children enrolled in TPA Idrisiyyah Daycare. This research methodology uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through interviews with school representatives and teachers, as well as curriculum analysis. Based on the research findings, the school administration has an important role in ensuring that the curriculum is play-based, optimising student learning, and improving the standards of educator human resources. The primary focus of this study is on the relationship between the curriculum and children's needs, as well as the limited number of qualified caregivers. The research findings indicate that innovative and well-structured administration can create a learning environment that supports children's holistic development through teacher training recommendations and collaboration with other learners.

Abstract

Conventional learning models that are often used in elementary schools tend to be teacher-centric and provide less opportunities for students to collaborate and learn actively. This results in low collaboration skills and student learning outcomes, especially in science subjects. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model in improving students' collaboration skills and science learning outcomes. The subject of this study is grade V students of SD Group VI, Abiansemal District, which consists of an experimental group taught using the TGT model and a control group taught using a conventional learning model. The research method used is a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design, involving quantitative data analysis through normality, homogeneity, ANOVA, and MANOVA tests to test hypotheses. The results showed that there was a significant difference in collaboration skills and science learning outcomes between the group of students taught with the TGT model and the group of students taught with the conventional model. The average score of collaboration ability and science learning outcomes of students in the TGT group is in the very high category, while the conventional group is in the high category. The TGT model has been proven to be able to create a learning environment that supports social interaction, increases student motivation, and provides a fun and meaningful learning experience. The implications of this study show that the TGT model can be used as an effective learning alternative to improve the quality of education, especially in developing 21st century skills such as collaboration and critical thinking, so it is recommended to be widely implemented in elementary schools and further developed at different levels of education.

Abstract

The main problem in learning in elementary school is the low ability of creative thinking and science learning outcomes of students who still depend on conventional learning methods. Conventional teacher-centered approaches often lack space for students to develop creativity and understand concepts in depth. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the project-based learning model by utilizing used goods in improving students' creative thinking skills and science learning outcomes. The subjects of this study are 56 grade V students of SDN Cluster VIII Sukawati for the 2024/2025 Academic Year, which are divided into two groups: an experimental group that uses a project-based learning model and a control group that uses conventional learning. This study uses a pseudo-experimental method with a post-test only control group design, as well as data analysis through ANOVA and MANOVA statistical tests. The results showed that there was a significant difference in students' creative thinking ability and science learning outcomes between the experimental group and the control group. Students in the experimental group had an average score of 128 creative thinking ability, classified in the "Very High" category, and an average science learning outcome of 87.6, classified in the "High" category. In contrast, the control group showed lower results on both variables. The implications of this study show that the project-based learning model is effective in increasing student engagement, creativity, and in-depth understanding of science materials. Additionally, the use of second-hand items as part of a learning project provides opportunities for students to develop collaboration, innovation, and social responsibility skills. The results of this study can be a reference for teachers, schools, and education policymakers to adopt project-based learning methods as a more effective strategy in learning in primary schools.

Abstract

Children in Indonesia, especially those in educational settings, are still vulnerable to various infectious diseases, including diarrhea and respiratory tract infections caused by bacteria and viruses. This study aims to examine the effect of using e-comic media on improving good and correct handwashing skills in early childhood as part of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) education. The study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The research subjects were 20 children in group B, aged 5–6 years. The intervention was carried out through learning with e-comic media, with a PHBS theme designed to teach handwashing procedures in accordance with health standards. Data were collected through children's worksheets (LKA), observation sheets, and teacher questionnaires. The t-test results showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (t = -12.114; p < 0.05), with the average score increasing from 11.50 to 28.00. Although the correlation between the two scores was weak and insignificant (r = 0.206; p = 0.383), the overall improvement in scores indicated the intervention's effectiveness. Observational data showed an increase in children's enthusiasm and handwashing skills, while teachers' responses to the media reached 98%, indicating very effective implementation. These results indicate that e-comic media not only improve cognitive understanding but also support behavioral changes in children. Therefore, e-comic media is recommended as an engaging and educational learning tool in PHBS education at an early age.

Abstract

The population of children with disabilities in Indonesia reaches 1.6 million children, so appropriate learning activities are needed for children with disabilities in Indonesia. This study aims to identify the differentiated strategies teachers use in the learning process, the roles they play in creating an inclusive learning atmosphere, and the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence their effectiveness. This study uses a descriptive, qualitative approach. The research method used to examine natural object conditions involves triangulation (combined), inductive data analysis, and qualitative research results that emphasise meaning rather than generalisation. Data collection methods use observation, interviews and documentation. Data validity-checking techniques include source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation. The study's results indicate that teachers play a central role in creating a learning environment that is fair, adaptable, and responsive to each student's needs. This study found that teachers act as learning designers, adjusting learning materials, processes, and products to students' abilities, interests, and learning profiles, including both regular and special needs students. The implications of this research also highlight the need for closer collaboration among class teachers, special assistant teachers, and parents to identify students' learning needs, thereby making the learning process more meaningful and effective

Abstract

The low gross motor skills of early childhood children are evident in the lack of coordination, balance, and agility in performing daily physical activities. This condition indicates the need to implement effective, engaging learning methods, such as rhythmic gymnastics, to stimulate children's gross motor development optimally. The purpose of this study was to analyse rhythmic gymnastics on the gross motor skills of young children. This study used a qualitative, descriptive approach. The subjects were teachers and children in group B at an early childhood education institution. Data collection methods were through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that rhythmic gymnastics planning was carried out systematically, with attention to the characteristics of early childhood development, including the selection of songs and movements, and an enjoyable and educational activity flow. Rhythmic gymnastics was implemented regularly and actively involved children through movements in time with the music, helping develop their balance, coordination, flexibility, and muscle strength. Teachers evaluated the activity closely, paying attention to the process and outcomes of children's participation, and this evaluation served as a basis for improving subsequent activities.

Abstract

Low motivation and learning outcomes caused by monotonous learning methods cause today's education to be very crucial. This research aims to overcome the low motivation and learning outcomes of students in science learning in grade VI of elementary school by developing Edugame-based interactive learning media. The problem raised in this study is the lack of innovation in learning media that is able to increase student motivation and learning outcomes. This research uses the ADDIE development model which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research instruments include expert validation questionnaires, teacher practicality questionnaires, and pretest and posttest tests to measure the effectiveness of learning media. The results of media validation with the Gregory formula show a validity rate of 90%, which is categorized as very high. This validity is obtained based on the assessment of material experts and media experts who assess that Edugame has met pedagogic standards, has content that is in accordance with the curriculum, and is supported by  attractive visual and animated elements. The practicality of the media was stated to be very high with a score of 96%, which shows that this media is easy for teachers to use and attractive to students. This practicality is supported by an intuitive interface, interactive features such as multiple-choice questions, drag-and-drop activities, and simulations that make learning more dynamic. In terms of effectiveness, the test results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes. The average pretest score, which was initially 65.45, increased to 88.73 in the posttest. The N-Gain analysis showed an increase in students' understanding in the high category, which proves that this medium is effective in improving the understanding of science concepts. Thus, the development of Edugame-based interactive learning media has proven to be valid, practical, and effective in increasing student motivation and learning outcomes in science learning

Abstract

The problem in this study departs from the low motivation and learning achievement of students in Natural Sciences (IPA) subjects at the elementary school level, which is caused by the use of conventional learning models that are still teacher-centered. This study aims to analyze the influence of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the learning motivation and learning achievement of science students in grade IV of elementary school. The research subjects consisted of two groups, namely the experimental class that used the PBL model and the control class that used conventional learning methods. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experiment design in the form of a posttest-only control group design. The data collection technique is carried out through a learning motivation questionnaire and a science learning achievement test that has been validated by experts. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques, including analysis prerequisite tests (normality, homogeneity, and collinearity tests) and hypothesis testing with Variance Analysis (ANOVA) and Multivariate Analysis (MANOVA) using the help of SPSS 26.0 for Windows software. The results showed that there was a significant difference in learning motivation and science learning achievement between students who were taught with the Problem Based Learning model and students who were taught with the conventional learning model. The application of PBL has been proven to be able to increase student learning motivation through student-centered contextual learning, as well as improve science learning achievement through critical thinking processes, problem-solving, and group collaboration. Thus, the Problem Based Learning model can be recommended as an alternative to an effective learning strategy in improving the quality of science learning in elementary schools
