Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Flipped Classroom learning model on student learning outcomes on Environmental Pollution material in Al-Hijrah Integrated Islamic Junior High School Medan. This research is a quantitative research (quasi-experimental). The population in this study were all class VII IT Al-Hijrah Junior High School Medan, totaling 94 students. The sample taken in this study was random sampling consisting of two classes, namely class VII-AB Ikhwan as an experimental class and class VII-B Ikhwan as a control class with 16 students in each class. Based on the results of data analysis, the average pretest value of the experimental class was 40.42 including the low category, the posttest average value of 81.0 including the high category. While the average pretest for the control class is 40.00, including the low category and the average score for the posttest for the control class is 61.67, including the low category. The results of hypothesis testing tarithmetic = 5.35 > ttable = 2.04 with probability = 0.05 and dk = 30. With the conclusion that the hypothesis H0 rejected and the hypothesis Ha is accepted, because tcount > ttable = 5.35 > 2.04. This shows that there is an effect of using the flipped classroom learning model on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Study aims to describe the mastery of the questioning skills of prospective elementary school teacher students at the Purworejo Muhammadiyah UniversitySources of data in this study were student teacher candidates for elementar school in Muhammadiyah University. The data collection technique used is observation. The analysis used in this research is qualitative data analysis. The indicators of mastery of questioning skills include basic questioning skills and advanced questioning skills. The results showed that Prospective elementary school teacher students at Purworejo Muhammadiyah University had more mastery of basic questioning skills compared to advanced questioning skills. The data were obtained by using the observation method on micro learning activities by Prospective elementary school teacher students at Purworejo Muhammadiyah University. The basic teaching skills, especially the questioning skills, were analyzed and observed directly in the implementation of microteaching activities. Based on the research that has been done, it is found that the mastery of basic skills in teaching is very necessary, especially the skills in asking questions. Asking is a verbal utterance that asks for a response from someone you know. Responses can be in the form of knowledge or things that are the result of consideration.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the influence of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model  on students activities and learning outcomes of class XI at Nurul Hakim Modern Islamic Boarding School. The type of this research is a Quasy Experiment. The population in this study was all students of class XI IPA of Nurul Hakim Modern Boarding School which amounted to 60  students. The sample used was class XI IPA 1 as an experimental class of 30 students and class XI IPA 2 as a control class of 30 students. Research instruments used to find out student learning activities are using a student learning activity questionnaire and for student learning outcomes was use multiple choices test of 25 questions. Data analysis was done using hypothesis tests. The percentage of students' learning activities in the experimental class was 83.70% which was higher than the learning activities of the control class students, which was 51.50%. The average learning outcome in the experimental class model was 82.00  and in the control class was 78.00. Based on the results of the analysis of thitung > ttabel which is 3.06 > 2.00, which means that Ha is accepted, and Ho is rejected. So, it could be concluded that there is an influence of student learning activities and outcomes using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning  model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the concept map method on the biology learning outcomes of Al-Hidayah Senior High School students in Medan, Indonesia. This research is a quantitative research with a Quasi Experiment approach (quasi-experiment). The population and sample in this study were students of class X which consisted of 2 classes totaling 50 students. The research instrument used to determine student learning outcomes is using multiple choice tests in the form of pre-test and post-test as many as 20 questions that have been validated by expert lecturers and students. The research findings showed that the average pretest score for the Experimental class was 35.00, while the control pretest had an average score of 30.00 and the posttest result for the Experimental class was 83.00, while the average for Control was 70.00. And in this study, data analysis using the Independent Sample t-test showed that sig < 0.05 with a sig value of 0.00 < 0.05 with a t-count value of 6.189 and a t-table of 2.02 concept maps so that Ho was rejected and Ha received. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of Concept Map on student learning outcomes on ecosystem material in class X SMA Al-Hidayah Medan

Abstract

This study aims to determine utilization of Microsoft Power point and Microsoft Word programs in learning physics in class X SMA Negeri 1 Ma’rang, Indonesia. This type of research is quasi-experimental with the research design used is Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were 6 classes with a total of 182 students. Sampling was done by simple random sampling as many as 65 students, consisting of 33 students for the experimental class and 32 students for the control class. The instrument used is a test of physics learning outcomes as many as 30 test items. Based on the results of descriptive and inferential analysis shows that the physics learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Ma'rang who take lessons using computer media through the Microsoft Power Point program obtained an average total score of 9.58. Meanwhile, for students who take part in learning using computer media through the Microsoft word program, an average total score of 8.21. The results of the inferential statistical analysis revealed that there was a significant difference between the attitudes of the students of SMA Negeri 1 Ma'rang who were taught using the Microsoft power point program and those taught with the Microsoft Word program. Thus, physics learning outcomes of students who are taught using the Microsoft power point program better than using with the Microsoft Word program.

Abstract

The use of virtual laboratories is a solution for schools that have not been able to carry out practical activities directly. This study aims to develop virtual laboratory electronic student using PjBL which can improve students' critical thinking ability. The research method used is the research and development (R & D) method with the ADDIE development model (analysis, design, development, implementation, & evaluate). The research subjects used were 30 students of class XII IPA who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection instruments consist of expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and critical thinking ability tests (pretest and posttest). The data analysis techniques used are Likert scale and n-gain analysis. The evaluation of the feasibility of electronic student worksheet by the expert got an average percentage of 85.41% with a very valid category, student test results got a n-gain value of 0.38 with a moderate improvement category, and the results of student responses got an average percentage value of 91.35% in the very good category. Thus, the developed virtual laboratory electronic student worksheet using PjBL can Improve students' critical thinking ability

Abstract

This study aims to describe the quality of E-student worksheet on the concept of vertebrate based on critical thinking in senior hight school. The development research used the Tessmer formative evaluation design, namely: 1) self evaluation; 2) expert reviews; 3) one-to-one evaluation; 4) small group evaluation; and 5) field test evaluation, but in this study only up to small group evaluation. The validity test subjects were three experts, the individual test subjects were three students of class X Senior High School and the small group test subjects were four students in the same class. Expectancy practicality data is obtained from student responses using the expectation practicality assessment sheet instrument. Expected effectiveness data is obtained from the results of the assessment of students' critical thinking skills through the E-student worksheet. The effectiveness of expectations based on the assessment of critical thinking skills in the interpretation aspect obtained a good category, while other aspects including analysis, inference, explanation and self-regulation obtained a very good category. Thus, the quality E-student worksheet on the concept of vertebrate based on critical thinking in senior hight school has a very good category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the concept, feasibility and effectiveness of student worksheet based on contextual teaching and learning (CTL) in biology learning related ecosystem concept. This research uses research and development with the ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Development-Implement-Evaluate) model. The subjects of this study were validators (one expert lecturers and two biology teachers) and seventh grade students of Nusa Penida Private Junior High School Medan. The object of this research is student worksheet based on CTL in biology teaching materials on ecosystem learning materials at Nusa Penida Private Junior High School Medan. The research instrument used in this study was a questionnaire to obtain student worksheet product validation assessment data. Technical analysis of the data in this study using expert feasibility test and effectiveness analysis. The results showed that the student worksheet based on CTL was feasible to use with a feasibility level of the learning outcomes test sheet of 93.1% and a student worksheet eligibility rate of 83%.The results of the analysis of student learning mastery show that the student worksheet based on CTL in ecosystem concept categorized as complete in the completeness of thinking ability indicators with a percentage gain of 84.3%. Thus, the student worksheet based on CTL in biology learning related ecosystem concept that has been developed is feasible for use in biology learning and is effective in developing students' thinking skills.

Abstract

The use of electronic student workhsheet as a support for learning the concept of protists has not been utilized optimally and has not trained students to think critically which is a skill that is much needed in facing challenges in the 21st century. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the electronic student worksheet on the protista concept in improving students' critical thinking skills. The research subjects through the small group test in development research were four students of class X State Aliyah Madrasah Kapuas. The critical thinking skills instrument from Facione was used to explore this data. The data analysis technique of the effectiveness of expectations is percentage. The results showed that evaluation and inference skills had increased. Other critical thinking skills did not show improvement, but the categories were at least good, namely interpretation, analysis, explanation, and self-regulation. Thus, electronic student workhseet on the protist concept can improve critical thinking skills at the high school level and can be used as an alternative learning to train students' critical thinking skills

Abstract

This research is to produce a teaching material product or science learning module about human circulatory system that is suitable to support junior high school students’ independent learning by fulfilling eligibility and effectiveness. This research uses the Borg and Gall research model which is modified into 7 stages. This type of research is Research and Development (R & D). Techniques for collecting data used observation, questionnaires for expert and student validation sheets, interviews. Module validity, curriculum validity, material validity were validated by several teachers in science subjects at Junior High School 1 Papar. The research results show that the assessment of material experts with an average score of 3.76 with very good criteria and the assessment of module experts get approximately a score of 3.76 with very good criteria. The results of the assessment in the initial field trials obtained a percentage of 90.23% with the criteria of feasible and the results of the field trials obtained a percentage of 97.79% with the criteria of eligible. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the science module on the subject of the human circulatory system is suitable for use as teaching material or a module that students can use in independent learning and has met its feasibility and effectiveness.
