Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of social media in public relations management in Islamic higher education institutions with a focus on ethical governance and use, strategic platform utilization, and its impact on institutional reputation. As digital communication becomes increasingly important in higher education, universities must adapt to this trend by implementing strategies that align with institutional values and effectively meet the needs of their stakeholders. This study explores social media management practices using a qualitative approach and a case study method. Data was collected through interviews with students, lecturers, and staff, as well as analysis of documentation of social media platforms used by the university. The results show that ethical governance and the use of social media have strengthened institutional communication by aligning published content with Islamic values and ethics. Strategically, the institution has utilized various platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, to target specific audiences and increase engagement. The impact on reputation is evident in the increase in public interaction and positive perceptions despite the potential risks arising from irrelevant or untimely content. This study is expected to contribute to understanding effective social media governance in higher education institutions, emphasizing the importance of ethical practices, strategic content delivery, and reputation management.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the transformation of women's leadership in improving service quality in the Islamic boarding school environment. Women's leadership in Islamic boarding schools still faces various challenges, both from cultural, structural and policy aspects. Therefore, this research seeks to reveal how women's leadership experiences transformation and contributes to improving the quality of educational services in Islamic boarding schools. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews with women leaders, teaching staff, and students, as well as analysis of relevant documents. Data analysis was carried out using content analysis, discourse analysis and interpretative analysis to understand women's leadership patterns and their impact on improving the quality of services in Islamic boarding schools. The research results show that women's leadership at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School has experienced a significant transformation, marked by increased women's participation in strategic decision making as well as the application of empathy-based, collaborative and innovative leadership approaches. The main factors that support this transformation are increasingly inclusive Islamic boarding school policies, increasing the competence of female leaders, as well as support from various parties, including students and teaching staff. However, cultural barriers and gender stereotypes remain challenges that need to be overcome. The implication of this research is the need to strengthen policies that better support women's leadership in Islamic boarding schools, as well as developing training and mentoring programs for prospective women leaders. In this way, women's leadership can further contribute to improving the quality of educational services and creating a more professional, inclusive and sustainable Islamic boarding school management system.

Abstract

Islamic education currently faces major challenges in forming a Qur'anic generation amidst globalization and the growing moral crisis. Integrated Islamic Schools (SIT) offer an educational model that integrates Islamic values with quality formal education. In this context, the role of teachers is very strategic, so their professional development becomes very important. Academic supervision serves as an important instrument in guiding teachers through a collaborative, reflective, and systematic approach. This study aims to analyze the strategic planning of academic supervision in forming a Qur'anic generation at SIT. With a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of the study indicate that supervision planning includes goal setting, target identification, scheduling, preparation of procedures, and active involvement of teachers through pre-supervision activities. This pre-supervision step helps school leaders understand teacher readiness and design more focused supervision. The supervision process not only includes pedagogical aspects but also emphasizes the integration of Islamic values in teaching. Therefore, the academic supervision planning strategy at SIT has proven effective in improving teacher quality while strengthening students' Qur'anic character, in line with the vision of holistic education that balances spiritual, intellectual, and moral development.

Abstract

This study explores the role of the MA ZAHA Robot Assistant (AROMAZA) in increasing parental involvement in the educational process. The research investigates how digital tools can improve communication between schools and parents, fostering a stronger partnership supporting student academic development. The significance of this study lies in addressing the gap in the literature regarding integrating educational technology in Islamic schools, particularly focusing on how tools like AROMAZA can enhance parent-school relationships. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews with parents, teachers, and administrative staff, as well as direct observation and review of school policies and academic records. The study finds that AROMAZA significantly improves the speed of information delivery, enhances parent participation in school activities, and provides real-time access to students' academic progress. Despite challenges related to technology adoption, the findings suggest that AROMAZA plays a crucial role in promoting transparency, supporting parental engagement, and reducing administrative burdens. The implications of this research highlight the potential of digital platforms in strengthening school-parent partnerships, offering valuable insights for educational institutions seeking to implement similar technologies to enhance parental involvement and improve academic outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of principal supervision and teachers' professional competence on Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning quality in State Junior High Schools throughout Lumajang Regency. The background of this research is motivated by the low quality of learning in Indonesia, which is reflected in the results of international competency tests such as PISA. This study aims to examine whether the principal's supervision and teachers' professional competence significantly affect the quality of PAI learning. The approach was quantitative research with a correlational design, involving 65 PAI teachers in State Junior High Schools in Lumajang Regency as respondents. The sampling technique used total sampling, and data analysis was carried out by multiple linear regression to test the relationship between the variables studied. The results of the analysis showed that the supervision of the principal had a positive and significant influence on the quality of learning (β = 0.589, p < 0.05), while the professional competence of teachers had a negative influence on the quality of learning (β = -0.358, p < 0.05). These findings have implications for the development of educational leadership theories and evidence-based education policies by suggesting that strengthening the supervision of school principals should be a priority in improving the quality of learning in schools.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of Kyai in shaping religious culture within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Specifically, it examines how Kyai's leadership influences the spiritual development of students, both through personal example and direct instructions. The research addresses the gap in existing literature regarding the broader impact of Kyai's leadership on fostering a religious environment, extending beyond administrative functions to encompass cultural and social aspects. The research employed a qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews, participant observations, and documentation to gather data from Kyai, teachers, and students at a pesantren in Indonesia. The study identifies key leadership practices, such as leading communal prayers and providing spiritual guidance, that contribute to developing a religious culture. Findings suggest that Kyai's example, combined with direct instructions on religious practices and social behavior, is crucial in instilling a deep sense of religious discipline among students. This research contributes to a more nuanced understanding of spiritual leadership in Islamic education and has implications for developing effective leadership models in religious institutions. The findings also open avenues for future studies exploring the long-term impact of spiritual leadership on student development in pesantren contexts.

Abstract

This study discusses the integration of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Islamic values in modern Islamic educational institutions, focusing on how the quality management approach can improve academic quality while building the character of students. The main problem is the lack of a TQM implementation model that holistically integrates Islamic values, so Islamic education often only emphasizes administrative aspects without strengthening the spiritual and moral dimensions. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews, documentation, and field findings on various stakeholders such as school leaders, teachers, students, and education supervisors. The study results show that implementing TQM based on Islamic values can create an education system that excels academically and in character, as long as it is supported by Islamic leadership, stakeholder involvement, and a structured and sustainable implementation strategy. These findings confirm that the quality of Islamic education is measured not only by the results of exams but also by the formation of the character and spirituality of students. The implications of this study reinforce the importance of cross-element collaboration and sustainable adaptation in the quality management of Islamic education and provide a practical model for the development of value-based education policies and practices in the future.
