Abstract

Volleyball athletes need an ideal BMI because they must be able to master the basic techniques of the game of volleyball. In addition, some positions also require ideal BMI such as spikers and blockers to support the success of basic techniques. Volleyball is a sport that requires continuous movement over a long period of time, so in this case the maximum oxygen volume (VO₂Max) is very necessary. Based on the description presented, it is very important to know cardiovascular endurance and body mass index profile to be evaluation material and to support achievements. This study aims to examine the body mass index and cardiovascular endurance profile of volleyball extracurricular participants of SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Loban. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive type survey. The population in this study is 21 participants taken as a sample. Based on the measurement results, the body mass index of volleyball extracurricular participants was obtained from 14 participants (66.67%) in the ideal weight category. Meanwhile, the cardiovascular endurance of 11 male participants (69%) was included in the very poor category, 5 male participants (31%) in the poor category, and 2 female participants (40%) in the very poor category, 3 female participants (60%) in the poor category. From the data that has been obtained, it can be concluded that the body mass index is classified as the ideal weight category while cardiovascular endurance is classified as very lacking.

Abstract

This study aims to see to what extent the use of the Ruangguru platform affects students' learning motivation in offline Indonesian language learning at the Indonesian Education University. Amid the rapid development of educational technology, it is important to understand the role of digital tools such as Ruangguru in the context of face-to-face learning. This study uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 102 students who have used Ruangguru and are at least 15 years old. The results show that most aspects of platform use are classified as low, but elements such as attractiveness of appearance, presentation of materials, and quality of learning videos are quite appreciated by users. Students' learning motivation is in the fairly high category, especially in terms of enthusiasm for learning and self-confidence in understanding the material. The habit of using the platform routinely is still relatively low. These findings indicate that Ruangguru has the potential to support offline learning motivation, but its effectiveness will be more pronounced if accompanied by direct direction from lecturers and more structured learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of students' dominant use of regional languages on their Indonesian speaking skills. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations and open-ended questionnaires. The research subjects were fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students attending TPQ Al-Muhajirin, located in a community where regional languages are predominantly used in daily communication. The findings indicate that students who primarily communicate in regional languages encounter several difficulties when speaking in Indonesian, including challenges in selecting appropriate vocabulary (72.2%), constructing grammatically accurate sentences (36.1%), code-switching between regional languages and Indonesian (86.1%), and a lack of self-confidence when speaking Indonesian (47.2%). In contrast, students who are accustomed to using Indonesian did not experience such challenges. To overcome these difficulties, students adopted various strategies, such as practicing speaking in Indonesian regularly (36.1%), seeking assistance from teachers or peers (55.6%), and engaging with Indonesian-language materials through reading and video content (5.6%). These results suggest that the dominant use of regional languages significantly affects the speaking skills of elementary school-aged children. Consequently, there is a need for more intensive interventions aimed at enhancing students' Indonesian speaking abilities, such as fostering an environment that actively supports the use of Indonesian in daily communication.

Abstract

This study focuses on how the use of Student Worksheets (LKPD) can support the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning process at MIS Al-Hidayah. Using a qualitative approach, researchers explored the experiences of teachers and students through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that LKPD equipped with visual media can create a more engaging learning environment, motivate students, and facilitate their understanding of the material. Teachers design LKPD with pictures and sequential steps, enabling students to be more active and able to learn independently or in groups. Despite obstacles, such as limited time for development and incomplete school facilities, teacher creativity and collaboration with colleagues proved key to success. These findings confirm that LKPD can be an effective learning tool, not only for improving cognitive understanding but also for instilling Islamic values in students. This study also has implications for the development of PAI learning strategies in madrasah-based elementary schools. Thus, the innovative use of LKPD can become a sustainable learning model to improve the quality of Islamic education in the future.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in fostering good morals in students, enabling them to develop Islamic character and face the challenges of the times with strong spiritual values. However, the implementation of PAI teaching in the field often still prioritizes traditional lecture methods, which lead to less student participation, boredom, and less than satisfactory learning outcomes. This small study aims to explore the PAI learning models and strategies implemented by teachers at the Al-Hidayah Foundation, the challenges they face, and their impact on students. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method through in-depth interviews with PAI teachers. The results revealed that teachers have begun to integrate lecture methods with more innovative learning strategies such as contextual, cooperative, and technology-based, although their implementation has not always been consistent. The main challenges faced include limited infrastructure, a lack of professional training for teachers, and low learning motivation among some students. The visible impact is increased student engagement in the learning process when innovative strategies are implemented, although their effectiveness still needs to be strengthened with support from the institution and parents. Therefore, the Islamic Religious Education teachers at the Al-Hidayah Foundation not only function as teachers, but also as motivators and facilitators in the learning process to ensure that the goals of Islamic education can be achieved properly.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low motivation and boredom of students in learning Indonesian, which is still dominated by conventional methods and results in less optimal conceptual understanding. The purpose of this research is to implement Wordwall as an interactive learning medium to improve students’ conceptual comprehension, interest, and motivation. This research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects were X students of MA Darul Lughah Wal Karomah Kraksaan. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that Wordwall successfully created a more engaging and enjoyable learning atmosphere compared to traditional teaching methods. Its interactive features, such as quizzes, word-matching activities, and word-search exercises, stimulated students’ enthusiasm and encouraged them to actively engage with the material. The scoring system and timer also fostered a healthy sense of competition, which further motivated students to participate. However, some limitations were identified, including the possibility of cheating, the relatively small font size, and the time-consuming process of preparing questions. Despite these challenges, the implication of this study suggests that Wordwall can serve as an innovative alternative medium for teaching Indonesian, providing both meaningful learning experiences and enhanced learning quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning difficulties experienced by fifth-grade students at Yayasan Al-Hidayah and identify innovative solutions in the learning process. The research uses a descriptive quantitative method with data collected through questionnaires. The results indicate that students still face challenges in understanding the material, primarily due to the fast pace of the teacher's explanations, a lack of supporting media and teaching aids, and limited learning facilities. The most difficult subjects for students to understand are Mathematics, followed by English and Science. Despite these challenges, parental involvement in supporting the learning process is relatively good, and students tend to prefer interactive learning, such as educational games, group discussions, experiments, and the use of digital media. Based on these findings, there is a need for innovation in learning, focusing on technology-based learning, the use of more varied teaching aids, and the application of creative strategies to enhance motivation, understanding, and student learning outcomes. Such innovations are expected to provide more engaging and effective learning experiences for students, addressing the difficulties they encounter in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the understanding of fifth-grade students at SDN 060786 in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS), specifically the topic "Economic Conditions in My Region," through the use of diorama media. The research uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with the spiral model by Kemmis and McTaggart, which includes the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. This study was conducted in two cycles, with data collected through learning outcome tests, observations of the learning process, and interviews with the teacher to gather feedback on the use of diorama media. The results of the study show a significant improvement in both conceptual understanding and learning outcomes of the students after the implementation of diorama media. The students also demonstrated increased engagement in the learning process, becoming more active and motivated to participate in the activities. Moreover, the use of diorama media helped students understand abstract concepts more easily than through text or verbal explanations alone. These findings emphasize that the teacher’s creativity in selecting and utilizing appropriate learning media plays a crucial role in creating an interactive, meaningful, and enjoyable learning environment, ultimately improving the quality of student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores how strategic leadership can drive institutional transformation toward excellence in Islamic higher education. A qualitative research approach with an ethnographic orientation was adopted, conducted at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, Indonesia, for one year, specifically during the university's preparation for national accreditation. Data were collected through three primary methods: participant observation in leadership meetings and quality assurance activities, in-depth interviews with 14 key informants (including university leaders, lecturers, and accreditation staff), and document analysis of the institution's strategic plan and accreditation report. Data analysis employed an inductive thematic procedure, in which interview transcripts, field notes, and institutional documents were analyzed to identify emerging themes. The research findings revealed that strategic leadership is realized through three main pillars: clear visionary direction, participatory management, and the integration of Islamic humanistic values into institutional governance. Despite facing challenges such as structural fragmentation, limited financial resources, and cultural resistance to change, the leadership successfully mobilized collective commitment and aligned organizational efforts with accreditation goals. As a result, the university achieved the highest national accreditation rating (A). This study contributes theoretically by contextualizing strategic leadership within faith-based educational settings in developing countries and highlighting the importance of moral authority, inclusive communication, and organizational synergy. Practically, these findings offer valuable insights for Islamic university leaders seeking to foster excellence under constraints.
