French is one of the foreign languages studied by students from the College of Tourism (STP) to support the professionalism of prospective workers in tourism and hospitality. This study aims to describe the French Tourism and Hospitality courses at the College of Tourism, covering four aspects of perception, lecture motivation, and evaluation. The data collection technique in this study was a questionnaire. The discussion concluded that implementing FSP lectures at the College of Tourism had not fulfilled the provisions in the performance of foreign language learning with professional goals. This statement is known from the learning objectives that have not led to FSP learning, learning materials in which general French still dominates, learning activities that have not shown professional competence developers in the field of Tourism and Hospitality, and the assessments carried out have not touched on the competencies that students should have achieved. The benefits of research can be used as a reference in improving the curriculum and process of French language lectures at the College of Tourism.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of "healthy leader", "organizational climate" on "teacher well-being" which is mediated by "self-efficacy" and moderated by "meaningful work." The data were obtained from a sample of 92 teachers using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis techniques and SmartPLS as software to perform model analysis as well as test hypotheses. The interpretation of the results of the smartPLS analysis uses 2 stages, namely the outer model testing stage and the inner model testing stage. The results of this study indicate that organization climate has a positive and significant influence on teacher well-being. Meaningful work strengthens the influence between healthy leaders and teacher well-being, and the influence of organizational climate on teacher well-being. Meaningful work weakens the effect of self-efficacy on teacher well-being.

Abstract

The integration of technology in classroom learning has become a common trend among educators. The use of technology in LMS, video conferencing, and others that are integrated with the learning process is very important. This review aims to analyze the integration of models and learning media in a flipped classroom for learning physics. The method used is a systematic review. The data was collected on an academic database, namely Scopus with the help of the Harzing's Publish or Perish application using the keyword “Flipped”. The analysis sample used is articles about learning Flipped Classroom as many as 1614 articles published in 2011-2021. Based on the six inclusion criteria, the articles analyzed were 20 articles. The instrument used is a coding sheet that summarizes the data and information of the article. The results show that the flipped classroom can use various media, in the form of videos, quizzes, LMS, online textbooks, blogs, discussion groups, Facebook groups, quizzes, LMS, PDF materials, PPT materials, Phet simulation, or in web form. The most commonly used media are videos, quizzes and LMS. In general, the use of media in flipped classrooms has been effective, but there are things that need to be considered in making media, including: 1) Making videos with shorter durations, 2) showing more video examples, 3) videos linked to the YouTube platform are good in LMS or independently, 4) Requires class guidance and agreement so that the use of media is effective.

Abstract

The idea of teacher professional development is the most phenomenal topic because it demands innovative practices to improve didactical-pedagogical skills. In line with the Implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum (IKM) and Teacher Mobilization Education Program, although this author's idea is a modification, it emphasizes proposals that focus on strengthening teachers, that encourage reflection and collaboration among teachers, and that promote an academic approach to learning. Coaching Lesson Study (CLS) is a solution to answer these demands and what is known as the Collaboration of Teaching and Learning. CLS is a cyclical process in which a group of teachers collaborated in designing, teaching, observing, and discussing lessons that are, in parallel, being investigated to improve them. In doing so, CLS links teacher professional development to student learning, integrates coaching and teaching practice, and facilitates self-inspection through observation and reflection among peers. This article presents seven principles for practicing CLS as an innovative idea for teacher professional development that is based on what the literature suggests and on best practice in education and learning. In many studies CLS contributes to the development of teacher's didactic knowledge but if it is collaborated with Coaching techniques, the results should be more optimal.

Abstract

The benefits of extensive listening have been documented in several studies, particularly in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) listening. These studies constructed the theoretical and pedagogical frameworks for its implementation, including the typical materials students can utilize to organize extensive listening practices. In light of this, this paper presents a brief overview of the listening materials used by the students in this setting and the challenges they faced in utilizing them for extensive listening practices. This qualitative study was designed as a survey involving 79 students from a private university in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. In collecting the data, the researchers administered an unstructured questionnaire combining close-ended and open-ended questions providing chances for the respondents to answer the questions in their own words. The result of this study confirmed that extensive listening is challenging to practice. In this case, students need knowledge about the pedagogy of extensive listening practices results in inappropriate material selections. This study recommends teachers' involvement in assisting the material selection that meets the student's pace to help students achieve more definite outcomes of the extensive listening practices.

Abstract

It is undeniable that the challenges of the development of science and technology in agriculture also have a negative effect on humans. Agricultural problems in farming systems instead of increasing agricultural production, people tend to use chemical pesticides, which affect environmental damage and decrease soil quality and even disrupt human health. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to answer the research objectives; The problem of environmental damage due to the community's farming system, and the value of baladang local wisdom in maintaining soil fertility in agricultural patterns. Description of research results; 1). Problems in the pattern and system of rice farming in the Kuantan Singingi community, the majority of people use pesticides, so that the level of soil fertility is maintained, it is necessary to have rules approved by members of the national adat community. The effects of the use of pesticides disrupt soil fertility, the environment is polluted when pesticides are used in large quantities even for a long period of time, and the level of human health, especially farmers, when spraying rice plants is even harmful to the health of all living things. 2). Baladang's local artistic value is a pattern of community agriculture that seeks to balance the natural environment with humans by stopping for a moment in cultivating rice with interludes of buffalo grazing in the fields when the rice harvest is finished. This tradition has long been agreed upon in the agricultural system of the national society. The process of raising buffalo is also in groups so that when the buffalo are released together there are indeed a lot of buffalo so that the buffalo dung and urine are also one of the media to enrich the soil again after the harvest season is over. The traditions of this community are also maintained and preserved in the midst of today's developments. This is in line with the fact that the environmental problems faced by humans are actually human life itself, namely a life that is full of simplicity and actions that do not prioritize greed, so that nature will be protected by humans. The real behavior carried out by the community is local wisdom as a view of life in protecting the environment. The view of life that has been carried out by the community if carried out widely will become environmental education for the entire wider community.
