Abstract

Introduction :Spondylolisthesis is a displacement of one vertebra relative to the vertebra below it with an estimated prevalence of spondylolisthesis of 6 to 7% at age 19 years, and up to 18% of adult patients undergoing MRI of the lumbar spine. Grade I spondylolisthesis accounts for 75% of all cases. Various factors can influence the occurrence of spondylolisthesis such as BMI, age and gender. Objective. This study aims to determine the characteristics and analysis of the relationship between spondylolisthesis patients and lumbosacral x-rays based on body mass index, age and gender as well as the local anatomical distribution and frequency of spondylolisthesis degrees. Results :A total of 120 patients were predominantly aged>60 years old, female and obese. Based on the location of spondylolisthesis, most of them are at L4-5. There are almost the same numbers of scoliosis patients and those without scoliosis. The majority of spondylolisthesis patients are dominated by spondylosis on lumbosacral xray examination. There was a relationship between spondylolisthesis and age, BMI and gender (p<0.05). Spondylolisthesis patients with female risk factors are at risk of experiencing spondylolisthesis (OR=6.490) and obese patients are at risk of experiencing spondylolisthesis (OR=4.024). Discussion:The prevalence of spondylolisthesis and patient gender may be related to the influence of the female sex hormone estrogen on tissues associated with the human musculoskeletal system. An increase in body mass index (BMI), an axial load on the intervertebral discs and facet joints, causes an increase in compressive forces on the spine. Age has the potential to be a determining factor in degenerative conditions with the occurrence of disc narrowing, osteoarthritis (OA) of facet joints, and degenerative spondylolisthesis showing a significant linear trend. Conclusion :There is a significant relationship between spondylolisthesis and BMI, age and gender in spondylolisthesis patients who underwent lumbosacral xray examination at H Adam Malik Hospital Meda. The variables gender and BMI are the most significant risk factors. Spondylolisthesis patients with female risk factors are at risk of experiencing spondylolisthesis 6.5 times greater and patients who have an obese BMI are at risk of experiencing spondylolisthesis 4 times greater than patients without this condition at RSUP H Adam Malik Medan.

Abstract

Body weight is one of the parameters that provides an idea of body mass. Normal or ideal body weight is if height and weight are balanced. The normal weight limit for adults is determined based on the body mass index (BMI) value. According to WHO 2024, there are around 2 billion adults who are overweight and 650 million people who are obese, with an estimated increase to 2.7 billion in 2025. Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by high levels of glucose in the blood caused by a insulin production, insulin resistance, and suboptimal insulin action. Indonesia is the 7th highest with the number of diabetes sufferers reaching 10 million people and is predicted to increase to 16.2 million people in 2040. This research aims to prevent diabetes mellitus which is influenced by obesity in students of the Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Abulyatama University, by focuses on temporary increases in blood glucose levels and the risk of metabolic disease due to abnormal blood glucose control and BMI. This research is an analytical observational study with a cross sectional approach, where researchers collected primary data obtained from the results of examinations of body mass index (BMI) and blood glucose levels at Abulyatama University, Faculty of Medicine, Medical Education Study Program, class of 2020, class of 2021, class of 2022, and class of 2023. The results of this study show a significant relationship between BMI and an increase in blood glucose levels at any time (p-value = 0.000). As many as 52% of students had blood glucose levels <140 mg/dL, 37.3% had blood glucose levels of 140-199 mg/dL, and 10.7% >200 mg/dL. Based on BMI, 38.7% of students are normal, 25.3% are obese 1, 14.7% are obese 2, 13.3% are overweight, and 8% are underweight.

Abstract

For the prevention and handling of stunting, in 2019 the Aceh government designated 3 districts as stunting Focus Locations (Lokus), one of which is Pidie. To accelerate the reduction of stunting, the government set program indicator targets that must be achieved by 2024, especially in the stunting focus areas. The achievement of these indicators is a reflection of the performance of each district/city. To find out the description of the performance achievement of each indicator, it is measured by an index value approach. The study was conducted quantitatively; analyzing secondary data from 29 program coverage indicators divided into 6 dimension groups. Each dimension of the index has equal weighting. Index assessment by comparing the annual program coverage indicator value with the target value set nationally. The stunting index in Pidie stands at 51.6. Out of the six evaluated dimensions, family assistance and food security scored the lowest, with values of 39.0 and 18.0. In contrast, the nutrition dimension recorded a higher score of 71.7. The health dimension, along with social protection (63.7) and decent housing (53.1), also needs more attention from the local authorities, as the efforts in these areas to tackle stunting are still lacking. Nutrition has become a primary focus in Pidie's stunting prevention strategies, as evidenced by high iron tablet intake among adolescent girls (79.9) and pregnant women (94.11), good rates of complementary feeding (MP-ASI) for children aged 6-23 months (89.3), growth monitoring (83.7), and supplementary feeding programs (PMT) for pregnant women (72.3) and undernourished toddlers (77.1). However, exclusive breastfeeding (64.7) and iron tablet consumption among prospective brides (34.6) are areas with lower achievement. The nutrition dimension, with the highest index score, is expected to play a significant role in reducing stunting rates

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the healthy behavior of the elderly in Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang, based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). A quantitative approach was used involving 316 respondents who were selected by stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression and path analysis. The results showed that attitudes towards healthy behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control significantly influenced the intention to behave healthily. This intention is the main predictor of healthy behavior of the elderly. Attitude has the greatest influence on intention, followed by subjective norms and perceived behavioral control. These findings support the theory of the SDGs and suggest that health interventions for the elderly should be focused on improving positive attitudes, social support, and self-control. This research provides important recommendations for the development of more effective elderly health programs, as well as policies that support access and age-friendly health facilities. These results are also relevant to be applied in similar contexts in other regions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the promotive behavior of elderly health in Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used to explore the role of attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control in influencing the promotive behavior of the health of the elderly. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation with elderly participants and health workers. The results showed that positive attitudes towards healthy behaviors, such as physical activity, were quite high, but were not balanced with consistent behaviors, especially in terms of healthy eating and regular health checkups. Subjective norms from families and health workers are a significant driver, although negative influences from the environment remain. Perceived behavioral control is the main factor that determines the behavior of the elderly, where physical limitations, access to health services, and economic constraints are the main obstacles. These findings underscore the importance of comprehensive, community-based interventions to improve behavioral control and social support of older people. This research contributes to the understanding of factors that influence the promotive behavior of the elderly health and becomes the basis for the development of more effective intervention strategies.

Abstract

on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). This study uses a cross-sectional design involving 333 randomly selected elderly respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires that included the components of the SDGs: attitudes towards behavior, subjective norms, and perception of behavior control. The results showed that all components of the SDGs had a significant effect on health behavior intentions, with attitudes towards behavior having the greatest influence (regression coefficient 0.45, p < 0.01), followed by subjective norms (0.30, p < 0.05) and perception of behavior control (0.25, p < 0.05). Although the intention to behave healthily is high (60%), only a subset of older people report consistent actual health behaviors, suggesting a gap between intention and action. Inhibiting factors such as physical limitations, poor access to health services, and inadequate social support were identified as major barriers. To address this gap, a comprehensive intervention approach is recommended through health education, strengthening social support, and improving service accessibility. In conclusion, the health promotion model based on the SDGs is effective in predicting the intention of the health behavior of the elderly and can be applied in health promotion programs in other regions.

The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed that (1) There is a significant relationship between self-esteem and nomophobia. This can be seen in the model summary table where the correlation r is 0.422 and p = 0.000. The correlation is negative, meaning that if self-esteem is low, nomophobia also increases. The determinant coefficient R² is 0.178, meaning that 17.8% of nomophobia is influenced by self-esteem. Based on the results of this study, it can be stated that the proposed hypothesis 1 is accepted. (2) There is a significant relationship between internet addiction and nomophobia. This can be seen in the model summary table where the correlation r is 0.522 and p = 0.000. The correlation is negative, meaning that if internet addiction increases, nomophobia also increases. The determinant coefficient R² is 0.273, meaning that 27.3% of nomophobia is influenced by internet addiction. Based on the results of this study, it can be stated that the proposed hypothesis 2 is accepted. (3) Together, the variables of self-esteem and internet addiction have a significant relationship with nomophobia. This can be seen from the model summary table where the correlation r is 0.577 and p = 0.000. This means that together, variables X1 and X2 influence variable Y. Based on the results of this study, the three hypotheses proposed in this study are declared accepted. The determinant coefficient R² is 0.333, meaning that 33.3% of nomophobia is influenced by self-esteem and internet addiction. While 66.7% is influenced by other factors that cannot be explained in the regression equation (residual).

Abstract

The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) method can shed light on the factors that influence healthy intentions and behaviors in the aged. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the success of the aged healthy behavior model in Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang, using the TPB approach, as well as to investigate the relationship between attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intents, and healthy behaviors. This study was designed as a descriptive survey using a quantitative technique. The sample consisted of 104 elderly people aged 60 years and over, who were part of a population of 1,085 people in Pantai Labu District. Data were collected using a questionnaire that measured attitudes towards healthy behavior, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intentions, and actual healthy behaviors. Data analysis was carried out using validity and reliability tests, multiple regression analysis, and Pearson correlation tests. The study showed that attitudes towards healthy behaviors had the greatest influence on the elderly's intention to live a healthy lifestyle (β = 0.45). Subjective norms and perceived behavioral control also had significant effects, with coefficients β = 0.30 and β = 0.25, respectively. The TPB model explained 68% of the variation in healthy behavioral intentions. The relationship between intention and actual healthy behavior showed a significant positive correlation (r = 0.72), indicating that strong intentions were related to the implementation of healthy behaviors. The TPB model was effective in explaining the factors that influenced healthy behaviors in the elderly in Pantai Labu District. Positive attitudes, social support, and perceived behavioral control contributed significantly to the intention of the elderly to adopt a healthy lifestyle. This study recommends the development of interventions that focus on improving attitudes, social support, and overcoming the barriers faced by the elderly in implementing healthy behaviors.
