Abstract

This study aims to improve student’s conceptual understanding of the diversity of landforms in Indonesia through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model supported by animated videos and formative assessment. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were 28 third-grade students of SD Negeri Tanjungrejo 5. Data were collected through observation, documentation, pre-test, and post-test to measure students’ conceptual understanding. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes across each cycle. In the pre-cycle stage, the classical completeness rate was only 17.86%. After implementing the learning model in Cycle I, the percentage increased to 57.17%. Further improvement occurred in Cycle II, where classical completeness reached 85.71%, exceeding the predetermined success indicator. The use of animated videos helped students visualize abstract concepts of landforms, while formative assessment provided feedback on students’ understanding during the learning process. Therefore, the integration of the Problem Based Learning model, animated video media, and formative assessment proved effective in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and creating a more active and meaningful learning environment in elementary school.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students on the topic of Biodiversity, which is caused by the dominance of the lecture method that makes students passive. The purpose of this research is to improve the quality of the learning process and cognitive learning outcomes thru the Make a Match learning model. This research is a type of Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the research subjects being 20 fourth-grade students. The data collection techniques included learning outcome tests and observations of student activities. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The research procedure was carried out in two cycles, which included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research results show a very significant improvement at each stage. At the pre-action stage, the average student score was only 53.5 with a classical completeness of 15% and increased to 73 with 65% completeness in Cycle I. In Cycle II, the average soared to 93 with 90% completeness, which falls into the "Very Good" category. Based on these results, it is concluded that the Make a Match learning model effectively improves learning outcomes in biodiversity material thru an interactive, enjoyable, and student-centered approach.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how Emotional Intelligence (EI) is integrated in the strategic service process through the O.M.A.H© - Observe, Manage, Articulate/Act, Harvest framework at Omah Tumbuh Potensi (OTP). This study is motivated by the limited research that examines EI as part of the service process systematically, as most previous studies have focused more on the relationship between variables at the individual level. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach using in-depth interviews with purposively selected informants, including the CEO/Founder, Business Partner, Business Assistant, and 2 Clients. The data were analyzed using a thematic approach to identify patterns and meanings of EI integration in service processes. The results of the study show that EI not only functions as an individual competency in the OTP team, but also as an emotional capability that is operationalized through a structured service process. The O.M.A.H© framework serves as an applied model that allows the integration of EI in strategic services to be consistent. The findings of the study also show that superior service in the context of OTP is interpreted as a relational outcome formed through the quality of interaction and client experience during the service process. This research makes a theoretical contribution by expanding the understanding of EI as part of the service process and introducing the O.M.A.H© framework in strategic service design. Practically, this research also provides implications for service organizations in developing an EI-based service approach that is integrated in strategic services on a sustainable basis.

Abstract

Teacher performance as State Civil Apparatus (ASN) plays an important role in improving the quality of education. However, the implementation of the E-SIKAP application in elementary schools still faces several problems, such as delays in reporting, inconsistency in task implementation, and suboptimal supervision. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of supervision on ASN performance through the E-SIKAP application in public elementary schools throughout Batang Anai District. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population consisted of ASN working in public elementary schools, with 168 respondents selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, linearity tests, simple linear regression, t-tests, and coefficient of determination tests using SPSS 31 for Windows. The findings showed that supervision was categorized as very good, with a Total Respondent Achievement Level (TCR) of 91.21%, while ASN performance through the E-SIKAP application was also categorized as very good. Hypothesis testing indicated that supervision had a significant effect on ASN performance, with a significance value of <0.001. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.922, indicating that supervision contributed 92.2% to ASN performance. The study concludes that effective and technology-based supervision can improve ASN discipline, responsibility, and work accountability. Therefore, school principals are expected to strengthen supervision and optimize the implementation of E-SIKAP to improve ASN performance in elementary schools.
