Abstract

This research is a development research that is difficult to develop textbook writing poetry based on love homeland. This development research refers to the Borg Gall stage model. The stage consists of ten stages of development, namely the stage of research and collection of preliminary information, the planning stage, the development stage of the initial production stage initial test phase, product revision phase, field trial phase, product revision stage, field test phase, , and dissemination and implementation. In this study only until the final product revision stage without including the phase of dissemination and implementation due to limited time research. In general, this study aims to explain the process of developing textbooks writing poetry based on love of the homeland. The results of the textbook development process are shown in the following stages. Validas textbooks were assessed by two validators, validation results indicated that the textbooks were included in either category because of the 75% percentage, the initial trial results were limited to seven class X students generated by student questionnaires, teacher interviews, and observer observations. From the results of field trials, students' grades in writing poetry resulted in an average score of 80 students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze in depth and critically about Lexicology in the Toponymy of Bekasi City. The method used in this study is ethnolinguistics which uses a descriptive qualitative approach.  The object of this study includes the results of the observation in the form of recordings of interviews and literature in the form of a manuscript of the Bekasi History Book (Since the Buni Ampe Wayah Gini Civilization), by Endra Kusnawan at the Bekasi Toponymy Subbab. Based on data analysis, the author can conclude that the name changes from the name Candrabhaga to finally change to the   name Bekasi through a lexicological process which includes: the composition process, the process of metathesis, the process of adaptation, the process of ellipsis, the process of assimilation, and the process of apocope.Keywords: Lexicology; toponymy; name; Bekasi.

Abstract

This research is conducted using model of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) that stated by Norman Fairclough. This discourse analysis is selected because it is considered to be able to answer the question of the purpose of this research that is formulated which focused on digging up the ideology value on teenager body image that is displayed on the discourse analysis in Hilo Teen advertisement. Fairclough sees a discourse as a social practice and authority which involves particular ideology value whether in explicitly or implicitly. The analysis of Fairclough is centered on text, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice. In this research, discourse analysis text Hilo Teen advertisement is focused on text dimension that involves representation, relation, and identity that is aired on the advertisement and sociocultural context in community scope. The result of this research based on the analysis defines Hilo Teen advertisement describes the body image of teenage girls are thin, slim, tall, and energetic; on the other hand, the body image of teenage boys are thin and tall. This advertisement also displays the problematic and realistic of teenagers who accentuate physical aspect only. Furthermore, Hilo Teen advertisement not only promotes milk product for teenagers but also tries forming a perception and conception on the society (teenagers and parents) about an ideal body shape of teenagers.

Abstract

This essay discusses three fundamental issues about the Arabic language, which is (1) a brief history of the entry of Arabic to the Archipelago, (2) the field of use of the Arabic language, and (3) Arabic vocabulary that goes into Indonesian. At the end of the 15th Century AD, estimated Arabic brought by Arab traders, both derived from Hadramaut and of Persia. The use of Arabic in the field of Indonesian mostly related to religious life (Islam). As for the Arabic vocabulary that goes into Indonesian, among others, akhlak, amal, azab, akhirat, ayat, ilmu, ibadah, infak, insyaf, iman, imam, khilaf, khotbah, kitab, kalam, zaman, dan zina.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of lexical cohesion reiteration in Padang Kurusetra short story by Emha Ainun Najib. This research used a qualitative approach. The data taken is a lingual unit of sentences that has an lexical cohesion reiteration marker. The method used to collect data in this research is referred to reading. Data analysis in this study uses the cloze method. The results showed that there was a lexical cohesion reiteration in the Padang Kurusetra short story by Emha Ainun Najib. There was 17 repetition, 7 synonymy, 10 oppositions, and 1 hyponymy. The function of the four lexical cohesion reiteration is to provide coherence of words or phrases in each paragragp so that the understanding of the author will be same as the reader’s. Then, the results of this research can be implicated in Indonesia language instruction in junior high school.Keywords: Lexical cohesion reiteration, short story, Indonesian language intruction.

Abstract

Abstract: The song is a work favored by all humans in the world. Songs can be enjoyed by allpeople, including teenagers who are still active in school. Because it is related to imagination,songs can certainly be a good medium when applied in the learning process in the classroom,especially in writing short stories. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of songmedia in stimulating the ability to write short stories in students. This research is a quantitativeresearch with Cluster Sampling method (group sample). This study used a posttest-only controlgroup design, with the two groups: experimental class and control class which only final testresults were taken (post test). The population in this study were students at one of the junior highschools in Jakarta, Indonesia (51 students). 25 students were positioned as the control class and 26students as the experimental class. The results showed that the ability to write short stories throughsong media was effective in stimulating the ability to write short stories. This is based on theresults of the t-test, found t-count=2.73 and t-table = 2.01. Because t-count is greater than t-table,then Ho is rejected, it can be concluded that the average learning outcomes of writing short storiesthat use song media are higher than the average learning outcomes of writing short stories that donot use song media.Key Words: Song Lyrics, Short Stories, Writing, Junior High School.

Abstract

Talking is one and the four skills in language that is productive and active Because of them that, a lot of foreign speakers have difficulty when first learning to speak in Indonesian one problem often encountered is the limited vocabulary that is owned by a foreign speaker Many instructional media offered to increase the amount of vocabulary for speakers Asung, one of which is the media images media images can increase 400% ability of foreign speakers in remembering vocabulary in the classroom, therefore, the authors developed a media joyful learning in the form of a comic comics is a combination of pictures and words capable of arouse and excite the foreign speakers to continue to learn to speak in a way that is fun this paper will describe a form of learning berbucara who could inspire and stimulate foreign speakers as well as fun in the classroom through the comic making it easier for foreign speakers achieve the goal of learning to speak.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the didactic value and cultural value of the expression of prohibition used by the Minangkabau community in Nagari Biaro Gadang, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. This research method used descriptive qualitative method and was carried out in three stages, such as data collection, data classification, and data analysis stages. The data was collected by observing, interviewing, recording, and taking notes on the utterances conveyed by the informants. Classification of data was done by collecting forbidden expressions. Prohibition expressions are analyzed by using a hermeneutic approach to find out the meaning of the existing prohibition expressions. Analyzing data by transcribing the results of interviews, translating into Indonesian, grouping prohibition expressions based on didactic values consisting of religious education values, moral education values, and social education values and cultural values in forbidden expressions. The result of the research shows didactic values, which consist of religious education, moral education, and social education. In addition, in the expression of the prohibition of the Minangkabau people of Nagari Biaro Gadang, cultural values are also found. The conclusion of this research is that each prohibition expression had its own didactic and cultural values.Keywords: Prohibition Phrases, Didactic and Cultural Values, Minangkabau Cultures.

Abstract

Abstract: Guru Aini is a prequel to Andrea Hirata's Orang Biasa novel. This study aims to describe the forms of thought of the Guru Desi's main character and the reversal of the binary opposition hierarchy using Derrida's deconstruction theory. The data in this study were the texts taken from the novel Guru Aini which outlines the forms of thought and the reversal of the binary opposition hierarchy. Employing qualitative approach, the data source in this research is the novel of Guru Aini. Data collection methods used were reading, recording and interpretation techniques. Guru Desi as the main character in the novel Guru Aini is a bad-tempered, intolerant and apathetic person. After a reversal of the binary opposition hierarchy, Desi actually has a patient character, and she basically also has positive characters such as tolerance, and optimism within herself. Keywords: Deconstruction, binary opposition, novel, Guru Aini.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe spelling errors in the official letter in ciracas area, East Jakarta written since February ---- November 2017 while the method used in this research, that is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques by collecting six letters of service. After research on six official letters from the "Suci" Islamic Foundation, Al-Hidayah educational institutions, Adhiluhur Mahadika Foundation, Madrasah High School Mahadika, Fathurahman Mosque prosperity Council, and PT PLN in Ciracas region, resulted in erroneous spelling of Indonesian ( EBI) in total amounted to 32 findings relating to the writing of abbreviations amounted to 8 findings or 25%, the composite word writing amounted to 5 findings or 15.62%, the use of punctuation marks 9 findings or 28.12%, writing absorption element 2 findings or 6 , 25%, letter writing amounted to 4 finding or 4.12%, and word writing gamounted to 4 finding or 12.5%. From this finding, it was concluded that the bigges spelling use error in the official letter on the use punctuation is 28, 12%.
