Abstract

The transformation of media from oral traditions and live performances to digital documentation has created a new space for cultural preservation in the modern era. This shift demonstrates how digital technology can bridge local traditions with the needs of an increasingly connected global society. This literature review analyzes the transformation of traditional dance preservation through digital media, with a focus on the use of YouTube in preserving the Rejang Sutri Dance in Batuan Village, Bali. This study aims to synthesize empirical findings and theoretical frameworks from national and international research conducted between 2018 and 2025. Using a qualitative literature review methodUsing Jenkins' (2006) Media Convergence theory, which encompasses indicators of media convergence, participatory culture, and collective intelligence, this study explores various approaches, including digital documentation, documentary film, social media engagement, and digital narratives, as tools for cultural preservation. Key findings indicate that YouTube plays a significant role in documenting, promoting, and educating the public about the Rejang Sutri Dance. Digital media enables this sacred dance to reach younger generations and global audiences, and opens up spaces for creative collaboration without diminishing traditional values. However, challenges identified include varying content quality, unequal access to technology, and the risk of reducing sacred meanings due to cultural commodification. The implications of this study emphasize the need for inclusive, adaptive, and collaborative information technology-based preservation strategies, as well as the importance of youth engagement as drivers of cultural participation. Future research should explore sustainable models for digital cultural preservation and evaluate the long-term socio-cultural impacts of these evolving practices. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the intersection of culture, technology, and education, providing insights for academics, cultural institutions, and community leaders involved in the preservation of intangible cultural heritage.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the way tourist destinations interact with their audiences, particularly millennials and Gen Z, who dominate internet users in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the role of digital marketing communications in increasing the interest of young people to visit Pekanbaru Agro Tourism. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a purposive sampling technique with five informants, consisting of owners, employees, and visitors. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of social media content, then analyzed using reduction, presentation, and conclusion techniques. The results show that the use of Instagram and TikTok plays a dominant role in attracting the attention of the younger generation through visual, educational, and interactive content. Millennials are more responsive to Instagram, while Gen Z shows a significant increase in TikTok. Digital marketing strategies have been proven to increase engagement, strengthen the destination's image, and encourage visitor loyalty through two-way interactions. The study's conclusions emphasize that digital marketing communications function not only as a promotional tool but also as a medium for interaction and the formation of a positive destination image. The practical implications of this study provide recommendations for tourism managers to optimize creative content-based digital marketing strategies according to the characteristics of young audiences.

Abstract

Siak Regency in Riau Province, as one of the regions with the largest potential for oil palm plantations in Indonesia, has the responsibility and authority to regulate the governance of this sector. The pattern of oil palm plantation business management in Riau Province is developed in the form of State Large Plantations (PBN), Private Large Plantations (PBS), and Smallholder Plantations. Fair and transparent pricing of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) of oil palm is essential to ensure the welfare of smallholders, especially in Siak Regency, which has a significant area of ??oil palm plantations. The study uses the theory by George Roberts Terry regarding supervision with indicators for determining standards, measuring implementation, comparing implementation with standards, and correcting deviations. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis. The data sources in this study are primary data through observation and interviews and supported by secondary data through literature studies. The selection of research informants through purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that there are still obstacles in company compliance with the set prices and that supervision is not optimal. This study recommends increased supervision, transparency in pricing, and strict sanctions for companies that violate the rules. With these improvements, it is hoped that regulations will be more in favor of farmers and create a fairer system.

Abstract

This study examines patterns in non-procedural Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) data in South Sulawesi and utilizes them to strengthen data-driven prevention. The method used is association rule mining using the FP-Growth algorithm within the CRISP-DM framework implemented through Altair AI Studio software. Modeling is run based on a minimum support value of 30% with a minimum confidence of 80%) for the Makassar, Pare-Pare, and Palopo Immigration Office datasets. Patterns are retained if the lift value is > 1 and selecting the top 10 patterns for each dataset. The results show consistent frequent itemsets and association rules indicating a general pattern of non-procedural PMI dominated by adult males with destinations in Malaysia with illegal/undocumented issues. The findings can be used as a preventive measure in strengthening interviews and document verification in the passport issuance process and the Immigration fostered village program. The study confirms that the application of FP-Growth with support, confidence, and lift evaluations provides evidence-based insights relevant to a more targeted and effective non-procedural PMI prevention policy by the Immigration Office

Abstract

Tourism villages can develop and overcome challenges by adopting a collaborative governance approach, involving all stakeholders in the decision-making and planning process. While collaborative governance may seem beneficial, there are arguments against this approach regarding developing tourist villages. Some critics argue that involving all stakeholders in decision-making can lead to conflicts of interest and slow decision-making. Having a clear hierarchical structure for decision-making, with local authorities and experts at the helm, may be more effective in meeting the immediate needs of rural tourism. This literature review examines the current body of research on the impact of collaborative governance on the development and success of rural tourism. This paper will analyze the benefits and drawbacks of cooperative governance, as well as present case studies that showcase its efficacy in various tourism village settings. The approach involves doing an extensive literature search utilizing databases and pertinent keywords pertaining to collaborative governance and tourist villages. The aforementioned sources offer valuable understanding of the determinants of fair and efficient collaborative governance in the development of rural tourism. The outcomes of this literature review will enhance comprehension of the role of collaborative governance in advancing flourishing rural tourism and offer suggestions for future study and implementation in this domain. The findings indicate that the key factors for achieving suitable and efficient collaborative governance in tourist villages are wide and equitable collaboration, legitimate and competent organizers, and sufficient resources. These decisive characteristics facilitate efficient decision-making, settlement of conflicts, and mobilization of resources for the sustainable growth of village tourism. Ultimately, collaborative governance is crucial in fostering the growth of tourist settlements.

Abstract

The education system in Indonesia faces complex structural challenges, particularly in the context of disparities in access, quality, and treatment, which ultimately hinder the achievement of the ideal goals of inclusive and equitable education. This study aims to examine in depth how educational philosophy can serve as a fundamental foundation and conceptual framework to transform the education system toward a more inclusive and just model. The approach used is a philosophical-analytical literature review, comparing and analyzing key philosophical schools—such as Progressivism, Social Reconstructionism, and Humanism—in relation to policy and curriculum practices in Indonesia. The findings of the study show that educational philosophy, especially through the lens of Social Reconstructionism, offers a strong ethical and practical framework. This perspective demands that education not only functions to transfer knowledge but also acts as an agent of social change, actively identifying and dismantling systemic injustices (discrimination based on ethnicity, economy, or disability). Inclusive and equitable education is not only understood as providing physical access but also as the restructuring of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment that values diversity and ensures equal opportunities for every learner. Implementing this idea requires a paradigm shift from a uniform, homogeneous model to a heterogeneous model that accommodates specific needs, as well as strengthening the role of teachers as reflective agents and social activists. The conclusion of this study is that, without a solid philosophical foundation, efforts to reform education in Indonesia will be superficial and patchwork. The approach of educational philosophy is an absolute prerequisite to produce consistent, sustainable policies that are truly oriented towards universal human values, so that the ideals of inclusive and equitable education can be realized in overcoming the existing system's challenges.

Abstract

This qualitative research utilised a phenomenological approach. The results of the study indicate that Poverty is influenced by various economic, social and environmental factors. Rapid urban development has not been accompanied by equitable access to employment, income and basic services, resulting in pockets of poverty remaining scattered, particularly in densely populated settlements and informal areas. Many people work in the informal sector with unstable incomes, while limited education, skills, and poor housing conditions exacerbate their situation. Overall, poverty in Makassar is multidimensional and requires a comprehensive approach. Government policies focus on empowerment, such as training for MSMEs, increasing access to capital, forming business groups, digitising MSMEs, and strengthening education and basic infrastructure. These policies aim to ensure that marginalised communities do not only receive temporary assistance, but are able to develop businesses and increase their income independently. Poverty reduction strategies should focus on empowering MSMEs, expanding access to inclusive capital, strengthening the community economy, digitising micro-businesses, and improving education and economic literacy. The restructuring of slum areas and improvement of basic infrastructure also support the productivity of marginalised communities.
