Abstract

This research is motivated by the rise of online gambling site promotions through social media, particularly by influencers, which has significantly impacted the increase in gambling practices among the public. The development of information technology not only brings positive impacts but also poses threats in the form of cybercrime, including online gambling promotions. One of the actual cases that is the focus of this study is the case of the promotion of an online gambling site by a woman who was then prosecuted at the Tanjung Karang District Court. The problem formulation in this research covers two main things: the form of accountability of the perpetrator of the crime of online gambling promotion, and the judge's considerations in determining criminal sanctions for the perpetrator. This study aims to analyze the legal basis and juridical considerations used by judges in issuing decisions against defendants who participated in the promotion of online gambling sites. The method used in this research is a normative and empirical juridical approach, with data collection through literature studies and direct interviews with relevant parties, such as investigators, prosecutors, and judges. The data obtained is analyzed qualitatively to describe aspects of criminal responsibility and judges' considerations in depth based on the decision of case Number: 967/Pid.Sus/2024/PN Tjk. The results of the study indicate that the defendant in this case was subject to sanctions based on Article 27 paragraph (2) Jo. Article 45 paragraph (3) of the ITE Law, Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) point 1 of the Criminal Code for participating in promoting online gambling sites through an Instagram account. The judge considered various aspects, including evidence, the defendant's confession, and the social impact of the action. The defendant was sentenced to 1 year and 4 months in prison and a fine of Rp. 10,000,000.00. The judge's considerations in handing down the verdict included aggravating factors, such as not supporting government efforts to eradicate gambling, and mitigating factors, such as the defendant's cooperative attitude during the trial. This demonstrates the importance of the judge's role in balancing aspects of justice and legal certainty, especially in cases involving the misuse of digital media for unlawful purposes. The author recommends that efforts to prevent the promotion of online gambling be strengthened through monitoring digital platforms and educating the public, especially the younger generation, regarding the legal and social impacts of involvement in online gambling activities. In addition, law enforcement officers are expected to improve coordination and responsiveness to new modes that utilize social media for cybercrime.

Abstract

Literacy skills are a crucial foundation for the academic development of elementary school students. However, the limited literacy facilities in rural schools, such as at Bayung Gede Public Elementary School, have led to a low interest in reading among students. This community service activity aims to assist the school in establishing a reading corner as a means to enhance the literacy culture. The implementation method used a participatory approach over three months (August–October 2025), involving teachers and fifth-grade students in the planning, creation, utilization, and evaluation of the reading corner. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' reading interest, evidenced by the growing habit of reading outside class hours, active participation in class discussions, and enthusiasm for bringing extra books from home. Teachers also became more creative in integrating the reading corner into daily literacy activities. Therefore, the assistance in creating the reading corner proved effective in fostering a literacy culture in elementary schools. This program can be replicated in other schools, especially in rural areas with limited facilities, as an effort to expand the school literacy movement.

Abstract

The student exchange program is one of the valuable academic experiences as it not only broadens perspectives but also opens opportunities to interact directly with the culture, language, and daily life of people in other countries. In this activity, I, as a student from the Markandeya Bali Institute of Technology and Education, had the opportunity to teach Indonesian language in Thailand as part of an effort to introduce the Indonesian language and culture to foreign students. The main objective of this activity was to help Thai students understand and use Indonesian in a fun, communicative way, and in accordance with their needs at the initial stage of learning. The learning process was carried out using a communicative approach through visual media, language games, and conversation exercises, enabling students to understand the meaning and contextual use of the language. The results of the activity showed very positive development. Students became more confident in speaking Indonesian and were able to grasp basic vocabulary well. The interactive learning atmosphere also sparked their enthusiasm in learning about Indonesian culture. In addition to benefiting the students, this activity also provided a valuable experience for me as a future educator in understanding cultural differences in learning and the challenges of cross-language communication. This experience emphasizes that language education is not only about mastering linguistics but also plays a role as a bridge to strengthen international relations and foster mutual respect through educational diplomacy.

Abstract

This study explored the influence of teacher self-efficacy and instructional practices on individual work performance among public elementary teachers in Region XI. Using a mixed-methods approach with a convergent design, the study collected quantitative data through adapted survey questionnaires and qualitative data through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. The study involved elementary teachers from public schools in Region XI and used statistical tools like mean, standard deviation, and multiple linear regression for quantitative analysis, while thematic analysis was employed for qualitative data. The results showed that teachers' self-efficacy and instructional practices were very high, and both significantly influenced individual work performance. The qualitative phase of the study revealed three essential themes: manifestation of highly efficient teaching, spirit of positivity, and fostering a supportive environment. Additionally, two themes emerged on the role of experiences in shaping teachers' beliefs and attitudes: teaching is a multifaceted profession and strong support systems promote sympathetic working relationships. The integration of quantitative and qualitative findings confirmed the significant influence of teacher self-efficacy and instructional practices on individual work performance. The study also found that experiences shape teachers' beliefs, attitudes, and commitment towards their work, highlighting the importance of supportive environments and teacher efficacy. The convergent design allowed for a comprehensive understanding of the complex relationships between these variables, providing insights into the ways teachers' experiences shape their beliefs and attitudes towards individual work performance. Overall, the study's findings have implications for teacher professional development and school administration.

Abstract

The concept of education in the Merdeka Curriculum, based on the philosophy of K.H. Dewantara, emphasizes that all inherent potentials in children should be nurtured to achieve the highest safety and happiness as human beings. Education must accommodate all the diverse needs of children through a learning process known as differentiated instruction. The research problem addressed in this article is the attitude of educators towards differentiated instruction. Therefore, the aim of this article is to explore educators' attitudes regarding differentiated instruction. The research method employed includes in-depth interviews with educators from various backgrounds and direct observations in the classroom, involving 26 teacher respondents. Data analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman's techniques, which include: Data Reduction, Data Display, and Conclusion/Verification. Data validity was ensured through Source Triangulation. The research findings indicate that a transformation in attitude occurs through educators' deep understanding of the diverse learning needs of children, acceptance of differences, and the ability to adapt to teaching strategies. Survey results reveal that 46% of respondents do not yet understand students' learning styles, 57.1% do not comprehend the interests of students they teach, and 78.6% of educators do not understand students' readiness to learn. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that many teachers have not yet implemented differentiated instruction and believe that uniform teaching methods are more effective than differentiated instruction. The implications of this study suggest the need for ongoing support for educators' professional development and systematic training related to changes in curriculum paradigms. In conclusion, transforming educators' attitudes is a crucial foundation for creating a learning environment that significantly supports the advancement of all students.

Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to conduct a deeper study of the history of Islamic education during the era of the Khulafaur Rasyidin. Related to the history of education during the time of Prophet Muhammad SAW, education during his time became the foundation for the Islamic education system in the era of the Khulafaur Rasyidin. The Prophet emphasized education based on the Qur'an and Sunnah, with the mosque as the center of learning activities and exemplary behavior as the main method. During the Khulafaur Rasyidin period, this system was continued and developed as the Islamic territories expanded. The companions played the role of teachers in various regions, institutions such as kuttab and halaqah were established, and the codification of the Qur'an was carried out. Thus, the education during the Khulafaur Rasyidin period is a continuation and development of the education system that had been laid down by Prophet Muhammad SAW, which was initially carried out secretly or from house to house during the time when the Muslim community was a minority in Mecca. After Islam spread rapidly and gained many followers, education was conducted openly, starting particularly after Umar bin Khattab converted to Islam. Education continued to be carried out openly, leading to the history of Islamic education during the era of the Khulafaur Rasyidin. This research uses a critical historical approach through literature review. The research process follows four steps. First, the collection stage, which involves gathering, finding, and analyzing various historical sources. Second, the source verification stage, which tests the validity of the data by checking both internal and external sources. Third, the interpretation stage, which involves interpreting the information that has passed the verification process. Fourth, the presentation stage, which involves compiling the findings into a historical work. After the death of Prophet Muhammad SAW, the implementation of Islamic education continued with Islamic values by the Khulafaur Rasyidin. The Khulafaur Rasyidin led during four periods: the era of Abu Bakar ash-Shiddiq, the era of Umar bin Khattab, the era of Uthman bin Affan, and the era of Ali bin Abi Talib.

Abstract

Palm oil mill liquid waste contains high organic matter and nutrients, such as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), and low acidity (pH). If this liquid waste is discharged directly into water bodies without treatment, it will pollute the environment and disrupt aquatic ecosystems (National Standardization Agency.2016). One of the efforts to treat liquid waste in palm oil mills can be done by aeration process. The aeration process aims to increase the level of dissolved oxygen (DO) in liquid waste so that aerobic microorganisms can effectively degrade organic matter. The aeration process can be carried out by several methods, such as using an aerator (Fitri, A., Susanto, H., & Budiaman, I. G. S. 2017).)Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Increased from 0 hours to 3.9 Mg/l, 24 hours to 5.7 Mg/l and 72 hours to 6.3 Mg/l. PH Increased from 0 hours to 4.32, 24 hours to 4.78 and 72 hours to 5.32 So the increase in DO and PH during the Aeration process is very helpful in reducing the level of pollutants in palm oil mill waste The effectiveness of the aerobic aeration process in the treatment of palm oil mill waste is able to reduce the level of TSS, COD, BOD, for TSS at 0 hours 461 m/L, 24 hours 403 m/L ,72 hours 275 m./L for COD at 0 hours 4240 m/L 24 hours 3816 m/L ,72 hours 1018 m/L for BOD at 0 hours 506 m/L, 24 hours 358 m/L ,72 hours 298 m/L.
