Abstract

Disasters are recurring phenomena in human life and have multidimensional impacts, including physical, social, and spiritual effects. This article aims to examine the concept of disaster from an Islamic perspective based on the Qur'an and authentic Hadiths, as well as to explore the theological and educational meanings contained therein. This research uses a qualitative approach with a library research method, through analysis of verses from the Qur'an, specifically QS. Ar-Rūm: 41, QS. Asy-Syūrā: 30, QS. Al-Anfāl: 25, and QS. At-Taubah: 126, as well as authentic Hadiths related to calamities, repentance, and patience. The results of the study show that Islam views disasters as the result of human actions, a test of faith, a collective warning, and a means of divine education to encourage repentance and self-improvement. Disasters are not merely understood as punishment, but also as a form of mercy and an opportunity for moral and social transformation. The implications of this study emphasise the importance of integrating Islamic values into disaster education and strengthening Islamic character in order to build awareness of human responsibility as caliphs on earth.

Abstract

Early marriage refers to a marital union involving individuals under the age of 16 for females and under 19 for males. In Pendua Village, North Lombok Regency, early marriage frequently occurs, prompting the village government to take measures to minimize the number of child marriages. This program aims to prevent child marriage in Pendua Village, North Lombok Regency. Several factors contribute to the occurrence of child marriage in Pendua Village, including both internal and external factors. Internal factors include personal desire, while external factors involve parents’ economic conditions, educational background, and environmental influences. The community’s perception of child marriage in Pendua Village tends to be positive, as the practice is considered customary and socially accepted.  The role of the government significantly influences community welfare. The Pendua Village government expresses concern that children below the legal age choose early marriage, as they should instead receive proper education and pursue higher levels of schooling. Consequently, the village government collaborates with traditional leaders and the local women’s school to address and minimize child marriage by conducting awareness campaigns in each hamlet, providing guidance through traditional leaders and hamlet heads, encouraging parents to motivate their children to continue their education, and strengthening the enforcement of marriage laws along with their sanctions.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the comprehension skills of calistung (reading, writing, and counting) for children in the Pendua Daya Hamlet Hall. The background of this research is based on the low basic ability of children in understanding reading, writing letters correctly, and counting simply, which is caused by a lack of learning motivation and limited interesting learning methods. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the subject of elementary school-age children who participate in learning activities in the hamlet hall. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation during the learning process. The research results show that the use of interactive learning methods, such as educational games, visual media, and direct practice-based learning activities, can increase children's interest and understanding of calistung. Children become more active, enthusiastic, and show an increase in reading simple words, writing short sentences, and basic numeracy. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of creative and fun learning methods can be an effective strategy in improving children's calistung comprehension skills in non-formal environments such as hamlets.

Abstract

This study aims to examine various factors influencing the implementation of the Narcotics Rehabilitation Program for Correctional Inmates at the Class IIA Muaro Padang Correctional Institution, including both supporting and inhibiting factors. Rehabilitation programs for narcotics abusers constitute an essential component of the correctional system, as they focus on recovery processes, guidance, and the enhancement of inmates’ social capacities to enable them to function productively after completing their sentences. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with correctional officers and program administrators, direct observation of rehabilitation activities, and document analysis related to program implementation and policy. The findings indicate that program effectiveness is supported by the commitment and active involvement of correctional officers, the existence of internal regulations that promote rehabilitation activities, and coordination with relevant institutions in the implementation of inmate guidance. However, the study also identifies several obstacles, including the limited number of human resources with specialized competencies in narcotics rehabilitation, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, insufficient budgetary support, and limited quotas for inmate participation in the program. In addition, variations in inmates’ levels of motivation and awareness further complicate the implementation of rehabilitation activities. Based on these findings, this study emphasizes that the success of narcotics rehabilitation programs is strongly influenced by resource readiness, inter-institutional collaboration, and institutional capacity building to ensure that rehabilitation objectives can be achieved optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the begawe tradition in strengthening social solidarity within the Pendua Village community. The research employs a qualitative method using a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that the begawe tradition plays a significant role in reinforcing social solidarity through various aspects, including mutual cooperation (gotong royong), social interaction, preservation of cultural values, and the enhancement of a sense of belonging within the community. The begawe tradition represents a form of local wisdom of the Sasak community in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, and is practiced as part of wedding ceremonies, circumcision rituals, and religious events. This tradition not only reflects the spiritual and social dimensions of the community but also strengthens communal solidarity. This study further aims to describe the forms of begawe tradition implementation, the cultural values embedded within it, and its relevance in modern community life. A descriptive qualitative method was applied through literature review and field observation. The results show that the begawe tradition continues to be preserved by the community as a symbol of cultural identity and as a means of strengthening social relationships.

Abstract

Public order constitutes one of the compulsory functions of local governments and requires policies to be implemented in an effective and sustainable manner. The Padang Utara District in Padang City continues to experience persistent public order issues, including the presence of unauthorized street vendors, improper parking practices, and the inappropriate use of public spaces. In response to these challenges, the district government introduced a non-digital policy initiative through the establishment of the Kesatria Team. This study aims to analyze the factors that support and hinder the implementation of the Kesatria Team in maintaining public order in Padang Utara District. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews and document review. The findings reveal that inter-agency coordination, strong leadership commitment, and clearly defined task allocation serve as key supporting factors in policy implementation. Conversely, low levels of public awareness, economic pressures, and limited supporting facilities remain the primary obstacles to effective policy execution.

Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing the implementation of the Child-Friendly City (Kota Layak Anak/KLA) policy in Padang City, focusing on the special protection cluster and drawing on George C. Edward III’s policy implementation framework. The KLA policy is a strategic public initiative aimed at fulfilling children’s rights and strengthening protection from violence, exploitation, neglect, and other forms of abuse. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and document analysis involving officials from the Office of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection, representatives of P2TP2A, and members of the Women and Children Protection Unit. The findings indicate that implementation is supported by a clear regulatory framework, institutional coordination, and the availability of child protection services. However, limited human and financial resources, weak cross-sectoral communication, low community participation, and uneven implementer commitment continue to hinder policy effectiveness. These factors significantly shape the performance of the special protection cluster in Padang City, underscoring the need to strengthen resources, enhance coordination, and improve institutional commitment.

Abstract

School principal leadership plays a strategic role in improving teacher performance as one of the key determinants of educational quality in schools. Principals function not only as administrative managers but also as instructional leaders who guide, supervise, and motivate teachers. This study aims to analyze principal leadership strategies in improving teacher performance based on findings from previous studies. The research employed a literature review design by analyzing relevant Indonesian national journal articles published within the last ten years. Data were collected through a systematic search using Google Scholar with keywords related to principal leadership and teacher performance. The data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach through data reduction, thematic categorization, and synthesis of research findings. The results indicate that effective principal leadership strategies in improving teacher performance include academic supervision, enhancement of teacher motivation and discipline, exemplary leadership, participative leadership, effective interpersonal communication, and the strengthening of school culture. These strategies are interconnected and should be implemented in an integrated manner to enhance teacher professionalism and sustainable performance improvement. This study is expected to serve as a reference for school principals and educational stakeholders in developing effective leadership practices in schools.

Abstract

This study examines and summarizes the relationship between dividend policy and stock price movements in the consumer non-cyclicals sector. The research aims to determine whether dividend policy contributes to investor confidence and influences stock price behavior. The study employs a panel data approach with a two-year observation period (2023–2024) and uses purposive sampling to select 26 companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Descriptive statistical analysis is applied to capture variations in stock prices and dividend payout ratios. This research adopts a quantitative descriptive approach, which systematically and structurally describes relevant phenomena and characteristics based on numerical data. The findings indicate that a high Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR) is not necessarily accompanied by an increase in stock prices. This result suggests that investors’ decisions in valuing company shares are not solely influenced by the magnitude of dividends distributed, but also by other fundamental and market-related factors.

Abstract

Village head elections (pilkades) represent a form of local democracy that involves active community participation. This study aims to examine the impact of village head elections on social interaction within the Baebunta Village community, from both positive and negative perspectives. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Research informants included village head candidates, village officials, community leaders, religious leaders, women leaders, youth leaders, and residents involved in the election process. The findings indicate that the village head election in Baebunta Village produces dual impacts. On the positive side, it increases community political awareness, encourages active participation in the village democratic process, and fosters cooperation between the village government and residents in development activities. However, negative impacts also emerge, including horizontal conflicts, polarization among supporters, a decline in social solidarity, and post-election group exclusivity. Data analysis reveals that community social interaction undergoes dynamic changes, shifting from political tension toward social reconciliation through collective village activities. This study concludes that village head elections function not only as political arenas but also as significant factors shaping patterns of social relationships within the community. Therefore, active involvement of the village government is required to maintain social harmony, along with reconciliation mechanisms to prevent prolonged negative impacts.
