Abstract

Critical thinking remains a major challenge in elementary science education, as many students experience difficulty identifying problems, selecting relevant information, justifying their reasoning, and drawing logical conclusions. This study aimed to examine differences in critical thinking skills between students taught through the Problem-Solving learning model assisted by Questions Box Challenge media and those receiving conventional instruction, as well as to determine the model’s effect on critical thinking skills. A quantitative quasi-experimental approach with a nonequivalent control group design was employed. The participants comprised 50 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Harjosari 01, with 25 students in Class V-A assigned to the experimental group and 25 students in Class V-B assigned to the control group. The study was conducted from May to July 2026 over three learning sessions on the human respiratory system. Data were collected through essay-based pretests and posttests, questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The test instrument consisted of 15 items developed according to Ennis’ critical thinking indicators. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, an independent-samples t test, and simple linear regression. The experimental group achieved a higher mean posttest score than the control group (75.60 vs. 63.00), and the independent-samples t test indicated a statistically significant difference between the groups (p < .001). Regression analysis further demonstrated a significant effect (tcount = 8.059 > ttable = 2.011, p < .001), with the learning model explaining 57.5% of the variance in students’ critical thinking skills. These findings demonstrate that integrating problem-solving stages with question-based media can effectively strengthen students’ abilities to interpret problems, analyze relevant information, justify responses, and formulate logical conclusions. The study contributes empirical evidence supporting interactive problem-solving instruction as a practical strategy for improving critical thinking in elementary science classrooms.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital communication technologies has expanded the use of Telegram channels as knowledge-sharing media in higher education; however, their contribution to students’ information literacy remains insufficiently examined. This study aimed to analyze the influence of Telegram channel utilization as a knowledge-sharing medium on the information literacy of students in the Library and Information Science Study Program at Universitas Negeri Padang. A quantitative explanatory approach with a causal-associative design was employed. The study involved 72 students from a population of 258, with the sample size determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, simple linear regression, and the coefficient of determination with IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The findings indicated that both Telegram channel utilization and students’ information literacy were categorized as good. Telegram channel utilization had a positive and statistically significant effect on information literacy, with a correlation coefficient of 0.696 and a coefficient of determination of 48.4%, indicating that it explained 48.4% of the variation in students’ information literacy. The study concludes that Telegram channels can function effectively as knowledge-sharing media that support students’ ability to access, evaluate, and use information. These findings contribute empirical evidence to the literature on digital knowledge sharing and provide practical implications for higher education institutions seeking to optimize digital communication platforms to strengthen information literacy and collaborative learning.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed how university students access, manage, and utilize information for academic purposes. Despite the efficiency and convenience offered by AI-based information retrieval, its effective use requires adequate information literacy to ensure that generated content is critically evaluated and responsibly applied. This study examined the influence of AI-based information use on the information literacy of students in the Library and Information Science Program at Universitas Negeri Padang. A quantitative approach with a causal-associative design was employed, involving 79 students selected through proportionate stratified sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, simple linear regression, a t-test, and the coefficient of determination using SPSS. The findings indicated that both AI-based information use and students’ information literacy were at high levels. The inferential analysis further demonstrated that AI-based information use had a positive and statistically significant effect on students’ information literacy. These results suggest that the effective and responsible use of AI can strengthen students’ capacity to identify, evaluate, manage, and apply academic information. This study contributes empirical evidence regarding the relationship between AI use and information literacy and provides practical implications for higher education institutions seeking to integrate AI literacy and information literacy into learning practices that promote critical, ethical, and responsible technology use.

Abstract

The implementation of digital learning requires effective learning resources that can support students’ autonomy and engagement in the learning process. However, empirical evidence regarding the relationship between e-book utilization and self-directed learning among secondary school students remains limited. This study examined the relationship between e-book utilization and students’ self-directed learning at MAN 2 Kota Pekanbaru. A quantitative approach with a correlational survey design was employed, involving 88 students selected through proportional random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and the coefficient of determination. The findings showed that both e-book utilization and students’ self-directed learning were categorized as good. A strong positive relationship was identified between e-book utilization and self-directed learning (r = 0.769), with e-book utilization accounting for 59.1% of the variance in students’ self-directed learning. These findings indicate that greater utilization of e-books is associated with higher levels of student autonomy in learning. The study concludes that optimizing e-book use can support the development of self-directed learning and strengthen the implementation of digital learning in schools. This study provides practical implications for schools and educators in designing digital learning strategies that promote students’ independence, responsibility, and active engagement in learning.

Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly ChatGPT, has transformed learning practices by providing students with immediate access to information and interactive academic support. However, empirical evidence regarding its influence on digital literacy among secondary school students remains limited. This study examined the effect of ChatGPT utilization on the digital literacy of students at SMA Negeri 1 2X11 Kayutanam. A quantitative approach with a descriptive design was employed, involving 82 students selected through simple random sampling from a population of 448 students. Data were collected using questionnaires, supported by interviews and a literature review, and analyzed through descriptive statistics and simple linear regression using SPSS version 25. The findings showed that both ChatGPT utilization and students’ digital literacy were categorized as good. Hypothesis testing demonstrated that ChatGPT utilization had a positive and statistically significant effect on digital literacy (t = 4.558, p < 0.001), accounting for 20.6% of the variance in students’ digital literacy (R² = 0.206). These findings indicate that responsible ChatGPT utilization can contribute to strengthening students’ digital literacy. This study provides empirical evidence regarding the role of generative AI in secondary education and offers practical implications for schools and educators seeking to integrate ChatGPT into learning while promoting critical thinking, information verification, and ethical digital practices.

Abstract

High unemployment and limited employment opportunities underscore the importance of promoting entrepreneurship as an alternative career pathway for young people. This study examined the effects of Entrepreneurship and Craft Subject Learning (PKWU), income expectations, and family environment on entrepreneurial interest among Grade XI students at SMAN 1 Papar. A quantitative approach with a causal-associative design was employed, involving 187 students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression using SPSS version 23. The findings demonstrated that PKWU learning, income expectations, and family environment each had a positive and statistically significant effect on entrepreneurial interest. PKWU learning significantly influenced entrepreneurial interest (p = 0.043), as did income expectations (p = 0.026), while family environment emerged as the most dominant predictor (p < 0.001). Simultaneously, the three variables significantly predicted entrepreneurial interest (F = 95.498, p < 0.001), explaining 61.0% of its variance (R² = 0.610). These findings indicate that students’ entrepreneurial interest is shaped by the combined influence of educational, economic, and family-related factors. This study contributes empirical evidence to the development of entrepreneurship education and provides practical implications for schools, families, and policymakers in designing coordinated strategies to strengthen entrepreneurial interest and promote economic independence among young people.

Abstract

The increasing adoption of digital libraries has expanded access to electronic learning resources in higher education; however, university students’ utilization of e-books through Indonesia’s National Digital Library application, iPusnas, remains underexplored. This study aimed to analyze the utilization of e-books through iPusnas among undergraduate students in the Library and Information Science Program at Universitas Negeri Padang. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving 56 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire based on the five dimensions of the Technology Acceptance Model and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings revealed that students demonstrated positive perceptions across all dimensions, indicating that iPusnas facilitates information retrieval and supports academic activities. Nevertheless, several practical limitations continued to affect its actual utilization. The study concludes that iPusnas has substantial potential as a digital learning resource in higher education. These findings contribute empirical evidence regarding students’ acceptance and utilization of a national digital library platform and provide practical implications for improving digital collections, system usability, and user-oriented library services.

Abstract

The rapid growth of social commerce has transformed consumer purchasing behavior, particularly in the skincare industry, where purchase decisions are shaped by multiple digital marketing factors. This study examined the effects of brand image, influencer marketing, online customer reviews, and scarcity marketing on consumers’ purchase decisions for Skintific products through TikTok. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed, involving 100 respondents who had purchased Skintific products through TikTok and were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics. The findings revealed that brand image and online customer reviews had positive and statistically significant effects on purchase decisions, whereas influencer marketing and scarcity marketing had no significant effects. These results indicate that consumers place greater emphasis on brand credibility and authentic customer experiences than on influencer-based and scarcity-oriented promotional strategies when purchasing skincare products through social commerce. This study contributes empirical evidence regarding the differential effects of digital marketing factors on consumer decision-making and provides practical implications for companies seeking to strengthen their brand image and optimize customer reviews as strategic instruments for increasing purchase decisions in social commerce environments.

Abstract

The low level of entrepreneurial interest among university students remains a significant challenge for higher education institutions in Indonesia, as many students continue to prefer becoming job seekers rather than job creators. This study examined the partial and simultaneous effects of motivation and entrepreneurial knowledge on entrepreneurial interest among students at the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business, Universitas Islam Negeri Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. A quantitative approach with an associative research design was employed, involving 95 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 4. The findings revealed that motivation had a positive and statistically significant effect on entrepreneurial interest, with a path coefficient of 0.638 and a T-statistic of 15.757. Entrepreneurial knowledge also had a positive and statistically significant effect on entrepreneurial interest, with a path coefficient of 0.450 and a T-statistic of 9.078. Collectively, motivation and entrepreneurial knowledge explained 80.2% of the variance in students’ entrepreneurial interest, while the remaining 19.8% was attributable to factors outside the research model. These findings demonstrate that motivation and entrepreneurial knowledge are important determinants of entrepreneurial interest. This study contributes empirical evidence to the entrepreneurship education literature and provides practical implications for higher education institutions seeking to strengthen entrepreneurship curricula and development programs that foster independent, innovative, and competitive young entrepreneurs.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has encouraged culinary businesses to adopt online food delivery platforms, particularly GoFood, to expand market reach and improve customer service. However, the effectiveness of such platforms depends on operational capacity and alignment with local consumer preferences regarding price, convenience, and practicality. This study analyzed the implementation of digital marketing strategies through GoFood in improving community purchasing power at Cafe Raluna, Paiton District, Probolinggo Regency. A qualitative descriptive design was employed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving four informants: the manager, cashier, and an employee of Cafe Raluna, as well as a consumer who had previously ordered through GoFood. The data were analyzed using an interactive model comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Cafe Raluna’s use of GoFood incorporates the four elements of the marketing mix—product, price, place, and promotion. Nevertheless, the promotional features and menu presentation have not been managed through systematic planning, thereby limiting digital marketing performance. GoFood contributes to increased community purchasing activity by providing convenient services, practical ordering processes, and promotional programs that encourage purchases. However, the magnitude of this contribution could not be determined because GoFood sales were not recorded separately from direct sales. Additional constraints included limited driver availability, platform commission fees, and competition among culinary businesses. The study concludes that GoFood supports Cafe Raluna’s digital marketing and community purchasing power, although more systematic planning, separate sales recording, and optimized promotional and menu-management strategies are required to achieve sustainable outcomes. These findings provide practical implications for small culinary businesses seeking to improve the effectiveness of platform-based digital marketing.
