Abstract

The Maternal Mortality Rate has become a major issue for the Indonesian government as it can be used to measure the reproductive health level of a country. In 2023, the maternal mortality rate in Jember Regency was recorded at 150 per 100,000 live births. Sumbersari Primary Heath Centre is one of Primary Health in Jember, located in the city. Still had cases of maternal mortality, with two recorded cases The Jember Regency government has implemented various interventions, including the implementation of integrated antenatal care (ANC), the preparation of emergency obstetric and neonatal management guidelines, and collaboration with educational institutions to support pregnant women, strengthen maternal and neonatal referrals, and enhance the PONED and PONEK maternity teams. In line with these programs, there is a need for synergy in utilizing information technology to support the Jember government’s efforts to reduce maternal mortality rates through the creation of an early detection system to predict maternal deaths. This research will develop an early detection system for maternal mortality using the KNN method. The attributes used include gestational age, weight, haemoglobin, blood pressure A, blood pressure B, facial swelling, stillbirth, breech birth, bleeding during pregnancy, hydramnios, post-term pregnancy, transverse presentation, preeclampsia/eclampsia, anaemia, tuberculosis, malaria, and heart failure. The system development will utilize the prototype method. The test results show that the system can be used to predict maternal mortality with an accuracy

Abstract

The peak of vulnerability to behavioral and mental disorders occurs during college, making this a crucial time for development. College students have a worse quality of life (QoL) in terms of mental health compared to the general population. There is a need for information regarding QoL related to stress in students, as studies discussing QoL and stress in college students are still lacking. This study aims to analyze the relationship between QoL and stress levels in college students. A cross-sectional survey design was used in this study, involving 249 college students at higher education institutions in East Java, Indonesia. The data samples were collected based on demographic characteristics, using the QoL scale from WHOQOL-BREF and the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 to assess the correlation between QoL and stress levels among college students. The results showed that the stress levels of college students were classified as normal (54.6%), mild (17.3%), moderate (17.3%), severe (8.4%), and extremely severe (2.4%). A significant negative correlation was observed between all domains of QoL and stress: Physical (-0.630), Psychological (-0.658), Social Relationship (-0.564), and Environment (-0.584). These results indicate that as QoL increases, stress scores decrease. Attention should be paid to providing appropriate interventions related to college students' quality of life. Further research is needed to gather detailed information on existing QoL domains, particularly those focusing on students’ needs, current information developments, and demographic characteristics.

Abstract

Child marriage cases place Indonesia in the seventh highest ranking in the world and are ranked second in ASEAN. Child marriage can have negative impacts both mentally and physically. Women's reproductive organs that are not ready to accept pregnancy make early marriage disrupt the reproductive health system so that it can cause various complications, especially in women. This research aims to analyze the readiness for behavioural changes in preventing child marriage based on individual characteristics and adolescent antecedents. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research with a Cross-sectional study approach. This study involved 160 teenagers aged <19 years. Individual characteristic variables, namely gender, are related to readiness for behavioural changes in preventing child marriage. Antecedent variables, namely Reproductive Health Knowledge, Parental Support and Motivation, are related to preparedness for behavioural changes in preventing child marriage. The readiness of teenagers to be able to make behavioural changes in preventing child marriage is related to individual characteristics and adolescent antecedents.

Abstract

Health services are among the most needed services by the community. In Ngawi Regency, Indonesia, residents often struggle to access vital health service information. With the advancement of technology, such as web-based health service information systems, it becomes easier for the community to access information about health services. The design of a web-based health service information system aims to support the establishment of a pioneering teaching factory for the Health Information Management study program. This research employs the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) software development method using the prototype model. The stages of the system design and development include quick plan, modelling, quick design, construction of prototype, deployment, delivery and feedback, and communication. The research results indicate that the web-based health service information system can facilitate the Ngawi community and its surroundings in accessing health service information, registering online, conducting self-health checks, consulting with health personnel via a WhatsApp link available on the web, serving as a health promotion media, and enabling users or health personnel to utilize patient data stored in the system database as a learning support tool. Based on the research findings, the system significantly enhances community access to health services and streamlines health management processes for users.

Abstract

Clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in the work environment is an important aspect which contributes to employees welfare and organizational productivity. However, the implementation of PHBS often faces challenges such as a lack of understanding and awareness of the importance of PHBS in the workplace. This research aims to develop and implement HEMA-MAGZ (Healthy Motion Magazine) as an effective communication, information, and educational media in supporting the implementation of PHBS in the work environment of Tefa House in Health Promotion Major, Jember State Polytechnic. This research method uses the R&D (Research and Development) model to design IEC PHBS media in the Hema-Magz work environment using the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). HEMA-MAGZ is designed as an interactive magazine which contains educational content regarding 10 PHBS indicators, namely (Using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), regular exercise, not smoking, washing hands with soap in daily activity, tips for defecating and urinating in the bathroom, exterminate mosquito larvae, throwing away rubbish on the right trash bin, avoiding drugs, consuming clean and healthy food and drinks, and not spitting anywhere. The research results show that HEMA-MAGZ has succeeded increasing employees awareness and understanding of PHBS, which is reflected increasing healthy living behavior in the work environment. Furthermore, this magazine also received positive responses from employees who felt the contents are attractive and easy to understand. This research concludes if HEMA-MAGZ is an effective media in conveying information and education.

Abstract

Disaster is an event that harms various aspects such as physical, economic and infrastructure. Emergency nurses have an important role in disaster management in the mitigation, preparedness, response and rehabilitation phases. Nurses involved in the disaster management process, especially in the response phase, must have specific skills in handling mass casualties in a disaster emergency. The purpose of writing this article is to find out what basic competencies must be possessed by nurses as a team in a disaster. The method in writing this article uses a scoping review consisting of; 1) deter-mining research questions, 2) searching for relevant articles, 3) selecting ar-ticles included in the review process, 4) mapping data, 5) compiling, summa-rizing and reporting results. Analysis of research data using thematic anal-yses. The results of the study found four themes, namely; 1) one-command nurse communication in a disaster area, 2) nurse preparedness before and af-ter a disaster, 3) nurses' sensitivity to ethics and culture in dealing with dis-aster victims, 4) having skills in disaster triage, basic first aid and basic life support for victims on disaster.

Abstract

The prevalence of poor sleep quality among medical students is high, with some meeting the criteria for insomnia. This study aimed to examine differences in technostress levels based on gender, age, and year of study, as well as the relationship between technostress and sleep quality. Using an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, 138 male and female students aged 17–23 years from three study years participated. Data were collected online using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) to assess sleep quality and the Tech-Q questionnaire to measure technostress. Statistical analysis was conducted using Spearman's correlation test. Results indicated that female students experienced significantly higher technostress levels than males (p=0.002). However, technostress was not influenced by age, year of study, or associated with sleep quality (p>0.05). In conclusion, while gender differences in technostress exist, there is no correlation between technostress and sleep quality among medical students.
