Pancasila and Citizenship Education Journal: Media Study of Pancasila and Citizenship Education is focused on the study of discourse and citizenship practices in the dimensions and perspectives of cultural diversity, equality, and social justice in the context of socio-economic, civic education and learning, related to issues of social and moral responsibility, community involvement and political literacy, as well as legal awareness. This journal publishes scientific and research-based articles on various Pancasila and civic education, and educational topics where conceptual issues of citizenship, local wisdom, political education, legal education, multiculturalism, and plurality issues are discussed. Pancasila and Citizenship Education Journal are very interested in scientific and professional studies in the discourse and practice of citizenship. We seek submissions of articles that cross the lines of scientific disciplines (interdisciplinary perspectives) that aim at the development of Pancasila and citizenship studies and citizenship education in the local, national, and global scope. Our particular attention is paid to works dealing with historical and contemporary questions of concern regarding other dimensions, meanings, and forms in relation to citizenship and contributing to education for citizenship. Each article published has gone through a peer-reviewed process by designated experts. They have experience in journal management and article publications in prestigious journals. The article published in Kewarganegaraan has met the requirements set by the Editorial Board of this journal.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to examine the application of the outdoor study-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model through cooking class activities in instilling the values of cooperation in students. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, where data is collected through direct observation during cooking class activities at SD Eko Pesantren. The results showed that the implementation of PjBL in cooking class activities effectively improved students' cooperation skills, which included interaction and communication, cohesiveness, active participation, and mutual help and respect. In addition, this activity also contributed to the development of students' social skills, creativity, and learning motivation. This hands-on learning process allows students to internalize the values of cooperation deeply through activities that are relevant to everyday life. Thus, this learning model can be an effective alternative to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools, especially in building collaborative character in the younger generation. Keywords: Project Based Learning (PjBL), Cooking Class, Cooperation Value.   ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berbasis outdoor study melalui kegiatan cooking class dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai kerja sama pada peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung selama kegiatan cooking class di SD Eko Pesantren. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi PjBL dalam kegiatan cooking class secara efektif meningkatkan keterampilan kerja sama siswa, yang meliputi interaksi dan komunikasi, kekompakan, partisipasi aktif, serta sikap saling membantu dan menghargai. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga berkontribusi pada pengembangan keterampilan sosial, kreativitas, dan motivasi belajar siswa. Proses pembelajaran yang melibatkan pengalaman langsung ini memungkinkan siswa untuk menginternalisasi nilai-nilai kerja sama secara mendalam melalui aktivitas yang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran ini dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar, khususnya dalam membangun karakter kolaboratif pada generasi muda. Kata Kunci: Project Based Learning (PjBL), Cooking Class, Nilai Kerjasama

Abstract

ABSTRACTParticipatory democracy is one of the important indicators in realizing a democratic, fair, and inclusive campus life. Student organizations have a strategic role in fostering political awareness and forming active and critical student characters. This study aims to analyze the role of student organizations at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Riau University in strengthening participatory democracy among students. The method is descriptive research with data collection in the form of observations, interviews, and documentation studies of organizational administrators and active students. The results of the study show that organizations such as BEM, DPM, and HIMA have contributed to political education, advocacy, and the formation of social participation values through various work programs. However, student participation is still low due to various factors such as apathy, lack of program innovation, and changes in the social preferences of the younger generation. In conclusion, the role of FKIP student organizations is quite significant, but needs to be optimized through a more creative and adaptive approach so that participatory democracy in the campus environment can develop more substantially.Keywords: Student Organizations, Participatory, DemocracyABSTRAKDemokrasi partisipatif merupakan salah satu indikator penting dalam mewujudkan kehidupan kampus yang demokratis, adil, dan inklusif. Organisasi kemahasiswaan memiliki peran strategis dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran politik serta membentuk karakter mahasiswa yang aktif dan kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran organisasi mahasiswa di Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Universitas Riau dalam penguatan demokrasi partisipatif di kalangan mahasiswa. Metodenya adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap pengurus organisasi dan mahasiswa aktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa organisasi seperti BEM, DPM, dan HIMA memiliki kontribusi dalam pendidikan politik, advokasi, serta pembentukan nilai partisipasi sosial melalui berbagai program kerja. Namun, partisipasi mahasiswa masih rendah akibat berbagai faktor seperti apatisme, kurangnya inovasi program, dan perubahan preferensi sosial generasi muda. Kesimpulannya, peran organisasi mahasiswa FKIP cukup signifikan, tetapi perlu dioptimalkan melalui pendekatan yang lebih kreatif dan adaptif agar demokrasi partisipatif di lingkungan kampus dapat berkembang secara lebih substansial. Kata Kunci: Organisasi Kemasiswaan, Partisipatif, Demokrasi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Bakar Tongkang tradition in Bagan Siapiapi, Riau, is not only a cultural asset, but also functions as a strategic tool in strengthening civic culture in the midst of a multi- ethnic indigenous community. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach to analyze the role of tradition in fostering values of solidarity, public participation, and cross-ethnic cooperation. The results of the study reveal that this ritual has succeeded in building a shared identity and strengthening social ties through community involvement in the preparation to implementation stages, driven by local government policies. However, threats such as the dominance of commercial aspects, low involvement of the younger generation, and environmental issues have the potential to erode the sustainability of tradition. To overcome this, solutions such as incorporating traditional values into the education system, utilizing digital technology, and synergy between related parties are considered crucial. This study confirms that Bakar Tongkang can remain the foundation of civic culture by maintaining a balance between preservation and renewal, while ensuring its sustainability amidst global dynamics.Keywords: Bakar Tongkang; Civic Culture; Indigenous Peoples  ABSTRAKTradisi Bakar Tongkang di Bagan Siapiapi, Riau, tidak sekadar menjadi aset budaya, melainkan juga berfungsi sebagai alat strategis dalam memperkuat civic culture di tengah masyarakat adat yang multietnis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur untuk menganalisis peran tradisi dalam menumbuhkan nilai solidaritas, partisipasi publik, dan kerja sama lintas etnis. Hasil kajian mengungkap bahwa ritual ini berhasil membangun identitas bersama dan mempererat ikatan sosial melalui pelibatan masyarakat dalam tahap persiapan hingga pelaksanaan, didorong oleh kebijakan pemerintah setempat. Namun, ancaman seperti dominasi aspek komersial, rendahnya keterlibatan generasi muda, serta persoalan lingkungan berpotensi mengikis kelestarian tradisi. Untuk mengatasinya, solusi seperti memasukkan nilai tradisi ke dalam sistem pendidikan, memanfaatkan teknologi digital, dan sinergi antar pihak terkait dinilai krusial. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa Bakar Tongkang dapat tetap menjadi fondasi civic culture dengan menjaga keseimbangan antara pelestarian dan pembaruan, sekaligus memastikan keberlanjutannya di tengah dinamika global.Kata Kunci: Bakar Tongkang; Civic Culture; Masyarakat Adat

Abstract

ABSTRACTOnline prostitution of minors is an act that aims to obtain and can also be offered a child's sexual services by someone or to another person and is accompanied by a payment in the form of money. Online prostitution is an exchange of sexual relations with a reward that is usually in the form of money as a trade or prostitution transaction carried out through the internet or cyberspace as a connecting medium. The media used such as, whatsapp, messenger, facebook, line, and so on. The purpose of this study is to explain the legal protection of minors as victims of online prostitution, the form of legal protection for minors as victims of online prostitution, and efforts to prevent and handle online prostitution. To obtain the data needed in this study, normative legal research was conducted. Normative legal research produces primary data, namely legal materials consisting of laws and regulations, such as Law Number 35 of 2014 Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 Concerning Child Protection. And produces secondary data, namely studying books, theories and scientific papers. The results of the study indicate that how legal protection for minors as victims of online prostitution and efforts to prevent and handle online prostitution. However, the form of legal protection requires firmness from Law Number 35 of 2014 Amendment to Law Number 23 of 2002 Concerning Child Protection. In providing protection, so that with strict regulations, minors can be protected by law. Efforts to prevent and handle online prostitution can be seen in terms of prevention before it occurs and handling after a crime occurs. Abstract

Shipping plays an important role in international relations, not only as a means of transportation, but also as an instrument of maritime diplomacy for cultural exchange, trade, and geopolitical strengthening. As the largest archipelagic country in the world, Indonesia has great potential to utilize shipping to improve regional stability, maritime security, and diplomatic relations. However, challenges such as water security, limited infrastructure, and lack of diplomatic capacity still hinder the optimization of this potential. This study uses a literature review to analyze the role of shipping in maritime diplomacy, both historically and modernly, by taking lessons from countries such as Japan and the UK. The results show that shipping can strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations through trade, maritime security, and cultural promotion. International collaboration through multilateral platforms, such as ASEAN, is important to address issues such as piracy, climate change, and sustainable management of marine resources. Promotion of maritime culture can increase Indonesia's soft power, while the implementation of modern technology in navigation and surveillance can face global challenges. With a comprehensive strategy, Indonesia can optimize its maritime potential to support sustainable regional stability and growth.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze the contribution of Generation Z in enhancing national integration by leveraging digital technology in the city of Pematangsiantar. Using a descriptive quantitative method, this research involved 60 participants consisting of students aged between 12 and 24 years old. Data was collected through a questionnaire using a Likert scale to measure two main variables: the frequency of digital technology use and awareness of national values. The findings indicate that Generation Z actively uses digital media not only for entertainment and communication but also to express social aspirations and build constructive national narratives. Most respondents demonstrated good digital literacy, engagement in online activities related to nationalism, and positive attitudes toward ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity. Social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube are used to reinforce pride in national identity and enhance social solidarity. However, challenges such as the spread of false information, verbal hatred, and unequal access to technology remain significant obstacles. This study emphasizes the importance of digital literacy training and the creation of positive content that reinforces the values of national unity. These findings provide significant evidence that Generation Z possesses the strategic ability to serve as agents of national unity through creative, inclusive, and critical digital approaches. Keywords: Generation Z; National Integration; Digital Technology; Digital Literacy; Social Media. ABSTRAKStudi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kontribusi Generasi Z dalam meningkatkan integrasi nasional dengan memanfaatkan teknologi digital di Kota Pematangsiantar. Dengan metode kuantitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini melibatkan 60 peserta yang terdiri dari pelajar dan mahasiswa berusia antara 12 hingga 24 tahun. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner yang menggunakan skala Likert untuk mengukur dua variabel utama: frekuensi pemanfaatan teknologi digital dan kesadaran terhadap nilai-nilai kebangsaan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Generasi Z dengan aktif memanfaatkan media digital bukan hanya untuk hiburan dan komunikasi, tetapi juga untuk mengekspresikan aspirasi sosial serta membangun narasi kebangsaan yang konstruktif. Sebagian besar responden memperlihatkan tingkat literasi digital yang baik, keterlibatan dalam aktivitas online yang berkaitan dengan nasionalisme, serta sikap positif terhadap keberagaman etnis, agama, dan budaya. Media sosial seperti Instagram, TikTok, dan YouTube digunakan untuk meneguhkan rasa bangga akan identitas bangsa dan meningkatkan solidaritas sosial. Meski begitu, tantangan seperti penyebaran informasi palsu, kebencian verbal, dan ketidakmerataan akses teknologi tetap menjadi rintangan yang berarti. Studi ini mengusulkan pentingnya pelatihan literasi digital dan penciptaan konten positif yang memperkuat nilai-nilai persatuan bangsa. Hasil ini merupakan bukti signifikan bahwa Generasi Z memiliki kemampuan strategis sebagai agen penyatuan nasional melalui pendekatan digital yang kreatif, inklusif, dan kritis.Kata Kunci: Generasi Z; Integrasi Nasional; Teknologi Digital; Literasi Digital; Media Sosial.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThe increasing violations of human rights in the digital era have prompted governments to implement various preventive measures to ensure the protection of these rights, one of which is the promotion of human rights through civic education. A crucial component in this promotion is the role of teachers. This article aims to explore the role and challenges faced by civic education teachers in advancing human rights in the digital era. The study employs a literature review methodology. The findings indicate that teachers play a strategic role as facilitators of understanding digital human rights, internalising the values of Pancasila, serving as ethical behaviour role models, developing digital literacy, and being adaptive active learners in response to technological advancements. However, challenges include limited understanding of human rights content, an emphasis on obligations rather than rights, and issues related to digital crimes. The research recommends a transformation in teaching approaches from textual-normative to contextual-applicative, enhancing teachers' capacities through training, and fostering synergy between schools, families, and communities to create an educational ecosystem that supports the emergence of responsible and human rights-conscious digital citizens. Keywords: PPKn Teachers Role; Promotion of Human Rights; Digital Era ABSTRAKPelanggaran Hak Asasi Manusia di Era Digital semakin meningkat membuat pemerintah mengeluarkan berbagai upaya preventif dalam menjamin perlindungan Hak Asasi Manusia salah satunya dengan upaya pemajuan Hak Asasi Manusia melalui Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan. Salah satu komponen penting dalam pemajuan Hak Asasi Manusia melalui Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan adalah guru.  Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran dan tantangan guru PKn dalam Upaya Pemajuan Hak Asasi Manusia di Era Digital. Artikel ini menggunakan Metode penelitian yang digunakan merupakan penelitian studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki peran strategis sebagai fasilitator pemahaman HAM digital, penginternalisasi nilai-nilai Pancasila, panutan perilaku etis, pengembang literasi digital, dan pembelajar aktif yang adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi. Namun, tantangan yang dihadapi meliputi keterbatasan pemahaman materi HAM, penekanan pada kewajiban daripada hak, dan isu kejahatan digital. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya transformasi pendekatan pembelajaran dari tekstual-normatif menjadi kontekstual-aplikatif, peningkatan kapasitas guru melalui pelatihan, serta sinergi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat untuk menciptakan ekosistem pendidikan yang mendukung terwujudnya warga negara digital yang bertanggung jawab dan berkesadaran HAM.Kata Kunci: Peran Guru PPKn; Pemajuan Hak Asasi Manusia; Era Digital

Abstract

 ABSTRACTIn the history of Indonesian politics, for the first time a cabinet of state ministries was formed with an extraordinarily large number of members, known as the Merah Putih cabinet. The existence of patronage politics is thought to be the main cause of the increase in the number of cabinet members. Therefore, researchers conducted research to determine public trust in the existence of patronage politics in the distribution of power in the Merah Putih cabinet using quantitative methods with a descriptive type. The results of research data processing using simple linear regression data analysis reveal that there is a positive influence that public trust has on the existence of patronage politics in the distribution of power in the merah putih cabinet, even though only 16.1%. This means that even though the level of trust is not very high, the public still believes in the existence of patronage politics in the distribution of power in the merah cabinet. One form of the existence of patronage politics is the public's belief that strategic positions in the Merah Putih cabinet are given to those who have political closeness to the leader. Keywords: Public Trust; Patronage Politic; Distribution of Power; Merah Putih Cabinet ABSTRAKDalam sejarah perpolitikan Indonesia, untuk pertama kalinya terbentuk kabinet kementerian negara dengan jumlah anggota yang luar biasa banyak yang disebut sebagai kabinet Merah Putih. Eksistensi politik patronase diduga menjadi penyebab utama menggemuknya jumlah anggota kabinet ini. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui kepercayaan publik terhadap eksistensi politik patronase dalam pendistribusian kekuasaan kabinet merah putih melalui metode kuantitatif dengan tipe deskriptif. Hasil pengolahan data penelitian menggunakan analisis data regresi linear sederhana mengungkapkan adanya pengaruh positif yang diberikan kepercayaan publik terhadap eksistensi politik patronase dalam pendistribusian kekuasaan kabinet merah putih yaitu hanya sebesar 16,1%. Artinya walaupun tidak terlalu tinggi tingkat kepercayaannya, namun masyarakat tetap percaya terhadap eksistensi politik patronase dalam pendistribusian kekuasaan dalam kabinet merah putih. Salah satu bentuk eksistensi politik patronase tersebut adalah kepercayaan masyarakat bahwa jabatan-jabatan strategis dalam kabinet merah putih diberikan kepada mereka yang memiliki kedekatan politik dengan pemimpin.Kata Kunci: Kepercayaan Publik; Politik Patronase; Pembagian Kekuasaan; Kabinet Merah Putih

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThis research is a literature review that aims to analyze the strategy of Project-Based Learning (PBL) Digital Citizenship learning in developing critical citizen awareness in the digital era. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, this study examines various primary and secondary sources related to pedagogical principles, success factors, and the relationship between digital citizenship, critical thinking, and civic awareness. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of PBL encourages authentic, collaborative, and reflective learning, where students not only master digital skills but also understand ethical values, social responsibility, and digital participation critically. This strategy is effective in forming digital citizens who are empowered, empathetic, and value-conscious. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi pustaka, penelitian ini mengkaji berbagai sumber primer dan sekunder terkait prinsip pedagogis, faktor keberhasilan, serta keterkaitan antara digital citizenship, berpikir kritis, dan kesadaran kewarganegaraan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL mendorong pembelajaran yang autentik, kolaboratif, dan reflektif, di mana peserta didik tidak hanya menguasai keterampilan digital, tetapi juga memahami nilai etika, tanggung jawab sosial, dan partisipasi digital secara kritis. Strategi ini efektif membentuk warga negara digital yang berdaya, empatik, dan sadar nilai. Abstract

 ABSTRACTThis article aims to analyze the role of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) teachers in developing the nationalistic character of eleventh-grade students at Santosa General Education Foundation Senior High School. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, through data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that PPKn teachers have a strategic role in internalizing nationalistic values through contextual learning planning, the use of participatory methods, and the integration of national issues into classroom discussions. Teachers' exemplary attitudes and behaviors have also been shown to contribute significantly to student character formation. In addition, the use of digital media and creative projects can increase students' interest and understanding of the meaning of nationalism in the global era. Collaboration between teachers and schools in national activities also strengthens the learning environment that supports the formation of nationalistic character. This study confirms that the role of PPKn teachers is very important in developing students' nationalism holistically, although there are still challenges such as low interest among some students and the influence of digital culture. These findings are expected to serve as a reference in developing more effective and adaptive PPKn learning strategies. Keywords: Civics Teacher, Character, Nationalism ABSTRAKArtikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran guru Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) dalam meningkatkan karakter nasionalisme siswa kelas XI di SMA Yayasan Perguruan Umum Santosa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, melalui teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PPKn memiliki peran strategis dalam menginternalisasi nilai nasionalisme melalui perencanaan pembelajaran yang kontekstual, penggunaan metode partisipatif, serta pengintegrasian isu-isu kebangsaan dalam diskusi kelas. Keteladanan guru dalam sikap dan perilaku juga terbukti berkontribusi signifikan terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa. Selain itu, pemanfaatan media digital dan proyek kreatif mampu meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa tentang makna nasionalisme di era global. Kolaborasi guru dengan sekolah dalam kegiatan kebangsaan turut memperkuat lingkungan belajar yang mendukung pembentukan karakter nasionalis. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa peran guru PPKn sangat penting dalam membangun nasionalisme siswa secara holistik, meskipun masih terdapat tantangan seperti rendahnya minat sebagian siswa dan pengaruh budaya digital. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan dalam pengembangan strategi pembelajaran PPKn yang lebih efektif dan adaptif.Kata Kunci: Guru PPKn, Karakter, Nasionalisme
