Abstract

The emergence of Covid-19 in Indonesia has an impact on science learning activities in junior high schools, so that, it is transferred to learning online. This study aims to analyze online learning activities, supporting factors, inhibiting, and the effectiveness of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was conducted in SMP Negeri 2 Bungkal from October to November 2020. This study used descriptive qualitative methods to provide an overview of online learning at SMP Negeri 2 Bungkal. This study used semi-structured interview data given to science teachers, students, and students' parents. Data analysis used the analysis technique of Miles Huberman (1992) through three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The result of this study indicates the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on learning activities. Online learning was carried out using Google Meet, Google Classroom, and WhatsApp media. Supporting and inhibiting factors in online learning, which are communication tools, internet networks, student motivation, and support from parents. Online learning is less effective because the material is not conveyed entirely to students. Most activities are carried out just by providing material and assignments and collecting assignments

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon peserta didik di SMP terhadap pengembangan media audio-visual. Research and Development menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh SMP di Banda Aceh yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling, dan diperoleh sampel peserta didik kelas IX sebanyak 71 orang dari SMPN 2, 6 dan 8. Data dikumpulkan dengan memberikan angket respon peserta didik yang sudah divalidasi sebelumnya. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh persentase respon peserta didik SMP Negeri 2, 6, dan 8 berturut-turutadalah 77, 78 dan 86 denganresponkeseluruhansebesar 81%. Hal ini memberikan kesimpulan bahwa media tersebut sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran yang ditandai dengan sangat baiknya tanggapan peserta didik terhadap media audio-visual yang dikembangkan.Kata kunci: media audio-visual, respon

Abstract

 The ability of students in understanding complex information and analyzing skills is classified as low grade, therefore a HOTS-based evaluation instrument is needed using media that is able to develop high thinking skills and increase the enthusiasm of students doing evaluations. The purpose of this study is producing an evaluation instrument based on HOTS using Quizizz on a valid thermochemistry subject according to material and media experts, knowing the validity, reliability, difficulty level, distinguishing power and user responses. This research uses a research and development (R D) with the Plomp model. The research subjects are 3 teachers and 30 students of class XI of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru, SMAN 2 Pekanbaru and MAN 1 Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques are carried out by literature studies and field studies. The research data is obtained from the validation results of two material validators, two media validators, and user trials. The result of validation to material validators was obtained on the average based on material aspect of 95.83%, construction aspect 94.03% and language aspect 98.89%. According to media validators, based on content aspect of 89.00%, learning design 90.00%, display (visual communication) 89.00% and software utilization 95.00%. The results of the questions analysis showed that 12 questions qualified the valid criteria, had very high reliability, “medium” difficulty level of 5 questions and “difficult” category of 7 questions and had good distinguishing power with all questions accepted. User response scores are 90.67% by teachers and 93.13% by students with very good criteria

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan motivasi dan aktivitas belajar peserta didik pada konsep Kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan menggunakan laboratorium Virtual simulasi PhET dengan metode eksperimen. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 7 Banda Aceh dengan menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain randomized pretest-posttest group. Kelas XI MIA4 menjadi kelas eksperimen I dan kelas XI MIA3 menjadi kelas eksperimen II, masing-masing sebanyak 30 peserta didik. Pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket motivasi dan lembar observasi aktivitas belajar peserta didik. Berdasarkan analisis nilai N-gain motivasi kelas eksperimen I sebesar 0,702 dan kelas eksperimen II sebesar 0,510. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa motivasi kelas eksperimen I lebih tinggi daripada kelas eksperimen II. Peningkatan aktivitas belajar peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen I pada pertemuan awal dengan sebesar 88,61% pada pertemuan kedua menjadi 96,11%, sedangkan kelas eksperimen II pada pertemuan awal sebesar 83,06% meningkat menjadi 89,15% pada pertemuan kedua, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa motivasi dan aktivitas belajar peserta didik pada konsep kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan dengan pembelajaran virtual lab simulasi PhET lebih tinggi daripada pembelajaran dengan metode eksperimen.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi larutan penyangga, serta untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran tanggapan peserta didik terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre experimental dengan desain penelitian one group pretest and posttest design. Subjek penelitian diambil dengan teknik random sampling. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes pilihan ganda dan tanggapan peserta didik. Data dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS dan Microsoft Excel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model PBL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan hasil persentase pretest (40,02%), posttest (79,83%) dan N-gain (66,37%). Selain itu, tanggapan yang diberikan peserta didik terhadap model PBL adalah positif dengan kategori sangat baik, karena banyaknya peserta didik yang memberikan jawaban positif lebih tinggi persentasenya yaitu 91,7%, dibandingkan dengan yang memberikan jawaban negatif persentasenya sebesar 8,3%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa model PBL efektif digunakan untuk dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik, serta tanggapan yang diberikan peserta didik terhadap model PBL sangat baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mempelajari dampak perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi getaran dan gelombang melalui penggunaan media TIK slide powerpoint dan alat peraga sederhana dan selanjutnya juga ingin diketahui  tanggapan siswa terhadap penggunaan media TIK slide powerpoint dan alat peraga sederhana. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan rancangan pretes dan postes control group design yang dilaksanakan di kelas VIII salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Aceh Utara pada tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Pengambilan sampel berdasarkan teknik random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui  pretes dan postes untuk mengamati peningkatan hasil belajar pembelajaran. Angket digunakan  untuk mengetahui tanggapan siswa terhadap penggunaan media TIK slide powerpoint dan alat sederhana. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada motivasi dan hasil belajar antara kelas media TIK slide powerpoint dan alat sederhana pada siswa SMP. Mayoritas siswa kurang merespon positif terhadap media TIK slide powerpoint dan alat sederhana.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktifitas guru, meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan berpikir kreatif siswa setelah diterapkan model PBL, mengetahui tanggapan siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimental dan one-group pretest-posttest design.Sampel penelitian diambil secara acak dari seluruh siswa kelas XI sebanyak 25 orang dari satu kelas. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen keterampilan berpikir kritis dan berpikir kreatif,  pedoman observasi, angket siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktifitas guru pada saat diterapkan model PBL menunjukkan kategori baik dan sangat baik, penerapan PBL mampu meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif dengan kategori sedang, hampir seluruh siswa memberikan tanggapan positif atau setuju dengan penerapan PBL pada konsep usaha dan energi.

Abstract

Chemical misconceptions occur in almost all topics. Identification of chemical misconceptions has been carried out on students, students and even teachers. Chemical concepts are interrelated, so misconceptions at the primary level have the potential to cause misconceptions in the next concept. This study aims to identify misconceptions held by prospective chemistry teachers practicing basic teaching skills and overcome them through cognitive conflict strategies. This research is a naturalistic case study with an interpretive paradigm framework. Research is carried out naturally (natural setting) following the ongoing lecture program. The research was conducted during the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year with 32 meetings for two classes. The research participants comprised 25 students (2 classes) taking microteaching courses. As the main instrument, the researcher is a microteaching subject with more than ten years of teaching experience. Data were collected using observation and interview methods with a cognitive conflict strategy framework. The results showed many misconceptions, including ionic bonds, ionization, and the formula for determining the pH of a buffer solution. Four prospective chemistry teachers experienced this misconception when practicing basic teaching skills. The correction results showed that 3 out of 4 students managed to correct the misconceptions that had been experienced before. One misconception is resistants. Based on the study results, it is recommended that a teacher or instructor pay attention to the misconceptions that occur and immediately overcome them as soon as possible.

Abstract

The assessments used in learning are often not in accordance with the demands of developing students' life skills and soft skills, when in fact these skills can be the basis for students to be able to compete with the global community in the future. This research aims to analyze the assessment of the skills to interpret data and scientific evidence on the written test of virus content used in Senior High Schools (SHS). The research method is descriptive through the collection of written test questions documents. The written test questions are analyzed on the Student Worksheet, Daily Test, Mid-Semester Assessment and Final Semester Assessment. A total of six schools in the city of Bandung categorized as public and private were selected by stratified random sampling representing the quality of each school. A total of 133 virus questions from six high schools in Bandung were collected for analysis. The research instrument used a validation rubric about science epistemic skills on indicators of skills in interpreting scientific data and evidence (PISA, 2019 framework). The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively with descriptive statistics. The results showed that the questions used in schools on virus content (94.75%) had not measured the skills of interpreting scientific data and evidence. These questions also do not test students’ literacy in facing a virus pandemic. Only a minor proportion of items (2.25%) were found to test data interpretation and scientific evidence skills. In general, the subject of the test in schools still focuses on memory or memorization of material, basic understanding and does not present information or data to be processed and interpreted. Most of the questions presented are only in the form of basic concepts so that it does not require students to think at high levels and reason.

Penelitian ini adalah implementasi model pembelajaran Problem Solving Kreatif (PSK) dalampembelajaran konsep tekanan. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk melihat efektivitas penggunaanmodel penyelesaian masalah kreatif dan juga untuk meningkat pemahaman konsep danketrampilan generic sains pada konsep tekanan siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Pelaksamaampenelitian menggunakan metode penelitian “the matching-only pretest-posttest control group”.Penelitian dilakukan pada kelas VIII siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama tahun ajaran 2012/2013.
