Abstract

This qualitative descriptive research investigates the learning media employed by English teachers for eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Ngoro, Mojokerto. Utilizing observation and in-depth interviews, data were collected from teachers and students. Findings reveal two primary instructional media types: video and film recordings (YouTube) and printed media images. The study suggests that video and film recordings significantly influence student engagement, whereas printed media images appear less effective due to perceived lack of attractiveness. This study underscores the importance of selecting effective learning media, particularly in enhancing speaking skills development, offering valuable insights for English language educators

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between self-efficacy and subjective well-being among high school students aged 14 to 19, a crucial developmental phase. Using a quantitative approach with a sample of 133 students selected via simple random sampling from a population of 200, two measurement tools were employed to assess self-efficacy and subjective well-being. Results revealed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.726, p < 0.001) between self-efficacy and subjective well-being, supporting the hypothesis. This finding underscores the significance of self-efficacy in shaping adolescents' emotional and cognitive evaluations of their experiences, suggesting implications for educational and psychological interventions aimed at enhancing student well-being.

Abstract

This correlational quantitative study investigates the relationship between student engagement and social loafing among university students. Using a sample of 336 students selected through proportional stratified random sampling, the study employed Likert scale instruments to measure social loafing and student engagement. Data analysis conducted with SPSS Version 25 revealed a significant negative correlation between student engagement and social loafing, indicating that higher levels of student engagement correspond to lower instances of social loafing during learning activities. These findings underscore the importance of fostering active student participation to mitigate social loafing tendencies, offering practical insights for enhancing classroom learning dynamics

Abstract

This correlational study investigates the relationships among students' perceptions of Newton's Law practicum, learning motivation, and cognitive learning outcomes in science education. Utilizing quantitative methods and questionnaire surveys, data were collected from VIII grade students. The findings reveal significant but weak correlations: students' perceptions of the Newton's Law practicum correlate positively with cognitive learning outcomes, as does learning motivation. Additionally, a positive relationship exists between students' perceptions of the practicum and their learning motivation. These results underscore the importance of both pedagogical practices and student motivation in enhancing cognitive learning outcomes in science education, suggesting implications for instructional design and educational policy aimed at fostering effective science learning environments.
