Abstract

International trade has become a key pillar in driving a country's economic growth. The stability of international trade is reflected in export-import activities. The amount of exports that exceeds the amount of imports will increase national income and positively affect the country's economic growth. Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is Indonesia's dominant export product that plays a critical role in the country's economic growth. Indonesia's CPO production in 2018 was recorded at 40.57 million tons. India is Indonesia's largest main market in exporting CPO. The purpose of this study is to determine the competitiveness and performance of Indonesia's CPO exports compared to the main competitor countries, namely Malaysia and Thailand. The data analysis process utilizes Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Constant Market Share (CMS), and the Man-Whitney Test with the period of research statistics from 2013-2022.The results show that Indonesia's RCA value has competitiveness and comparative advantage in CPO exports against Thailand, but does not show significant differences with Malaysia in the Indian market. The results of data analysis using Constant Market Shares (CMS) to measure Indonesia's CPO export performance through standard growth, commodity composition effects, market distribution effects and competitiveness effects show that the export performance of CPO commodities against major competitor countries in the Indian market tends to have a positive trend.

Abstract

One of the primary goals of policy makers is to build an economy that is relatively stable. As such, to ensure that the economy is relatively stable, policy makers embark on series of financial (economic) reforms. However, even with the concerted efforts to improve the state of the Nigerian economy, the Nigeria is still under-developed. Hence, the paper aimed at examining the effects of development finance on sustainable growth of Nigeria using the granger causality approach. The development finance measures are private sector credits, broad money supply (BMS), Interest rate volatilities, and trade openness while sustainable growth measured by RGDP. The study spanned from 1989 to 2021. The study reported that, both private credits and broad money supply bi-granger cause sustainable growth but trade openness only cause sustainable growth. However, Interest rate volatilities did not influence sustainable growth nor growth did. Hence, the paper concludes that, both private sector credits and broad money supply precedes growth just as growth precedes both private sector credits and broad money supply while trade openness is a precondition for economic growth. As such, it is imperative for the apex regulatory body to instruct Nigerian banks to give more credits to the private sector. Lastly, the efforts should be made to improve the degree to which the Nigerian economy is open to trade. Lastly, the rising high cost of borrowing should be reduced.

Abstract

This study aims to test and find out how the correlation of the application of standard operating procedures and work environment conditions to the level of work discipline of PT Ghania Creative Indonesia employees with work motivation as an intervening variable. This research uses quantitative research methods, with a correlation analytic approach. The population of this study amounted to 40 people and the sampling technique used total sampling technique, so the number of research samples became 40 people. This research data collection method uses a questionnaire / questionnaire method. The results showed that each independent variable partially had a direct effect on the level of employee discipline. Simultaneously, the application of the SOP and the work environment has a direct effect on the level of employee work discipline with a value of Fcount (5.527) > Ftable (2.87) with a significance level of 0.000. Furthermore, it has an R square value of 0.647 or 64.7% which means that as far as 64.7% there is a significant and direct influence of the application of SOPs and the work environment on employee work discipline together, while the other 35.3% are variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of supervision on employee performance at the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (RTIU) Pemembolum Senaken Market, Paser Regency. From the results of the validity test, all 10 statement items were declared valid because they were greater than the rtable value of 0.2006 for each statement in this study. From the results of the reliability test, a value of 0.959 was obtained, which means there is a very strong relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. From the results of multiple linear regression analysis, it can be seen that the results of the regression equation are Y = 40.597 + 0.535X1 + 0.361X2. Based on the calculation results, an R value (Correlation Coefficient) of 0.915 is obtained which is at an interpretation level between 0.80-1.00, which means that there is a very strong influence from the supervision variable (X) which consists of direct supervision (X1), and supervision. indirectly (X2), on employee performance (Y). The value of the Adjusted R Square Determination Coefficient (????2) is 0.833 or 83.3%. These results show that 83.3% of the direct supervision variables (X1) and indirect supervision (X2) have had an influence on the employee performance variable (Y). The remaining 16.7% is influenced by other unknown variables. From the results of the F test carried out, the supervision variable (X) consists of direct supervision (X1) and indirect supervision (X2), together they have an influence on employee performance. This is proven by the Fcount result of 238.507 with a significance level of 0.000, which means it is greater than Ftable 3.09. The results of the t test showed that the t-count value of direct supervision (X1) was 5.646 with a significant level of 0.000 and the t-count value of indirect supervision (X2) was 3.637 with a significance level of 0.000. Of the two independent variables studied, it is known that the direct supervision variable (X1) is the variable that has the dominant influence on employee performance (Y). This is proven by the results of direct supervision (X1) > indirect supervision (X2) or (5.646 > 3.637) so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.

This study was based on one year of sales and inventory data from a snack and beverage company, as a case study employing private data. A total of 3,370 transaction data samples were processed using RapidMiner data mining with FP growth algorithm. The results of both methods showed that the inventory level must be sufficient and produced two categories, namely large stock and small stock. The findings of this study indicated that the company has closely optimized its inventory since there were some products that were not involved in the association rules of sales.

Abstract

The practice of digging roadside ditches by the Medan City Government is an important part of the flood mitigation strategy and improvement of the urban drainage system. However, this practice not only provides benefits for reducing flood risk, but also has a significant impact on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) around the area. This research aims to investigate the dynamics of profit and loss from the practice of trenching for MSMEs in Medan, focusing on identifying the challenges they face and opportunities to improve the sustainability of their businesses. Through a triangulation approach, including direct surveys, interviews with stakeholders, and secondary data analysis, this study reveals the complexity of the impact of trenching practices on MSMEs and the adaptation strategies adopted. The results show that MSMEs experience accessibility problems, material losses, and damage to business infrastructure due to this practice. However, MSMEs have also taken adaptation steps such as product diversification and increased connectivity. Support from sustainability-oriented public policies has also helped MSMEs increase their competitiveness and resilience. Despite this, challenges in implementing sustainable policies remain the main focus, with limited resources and lack of coordination between government agencies as the main obstacles. In conclusion, this research highlights the need for a holistic approach and close collaboration between stakeholders to create an environment that supports the growth and sustainability of MSMEs amidst changes in urban infrastructure.
