Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Non Performing Loan (NPL), and Operating Costs and Operating Income (BOPO) on financial performance, as measured by Return On Assets (ROA), at PD. BPR Bahteramas Konawe. Using secondary data from the annual report of PD. BPR Bahteramas Konawe during the 2018-2022 period, this study applies multiple linear regression analysis with classical assumption tests and hypothesis testing to evaluate the effect of these variables, both simultaneously and partially, on ROA. The analytical tool used in this research is SPSS version 25. The results showed that CAR, LDR, NPL, and BOPO together had a positive and significant influence on the ROA of PD. BPR Bahteramas Konawe, indicating that increasing these values in accordance with the BPR health standards set by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) contributes to increasing bank profitability. Partially, CAR has a positive but insignificant effect on ROA, while LDR and NPL have a negative but insignificant effect. The significant negative effect of BOPO on ROA indicates that higher operational efficiency contributes to improved bank financial performance. This research provides new insights in banking finance literature regarding the importance of managing capital, liquidity, credit, and operational efficiency in improving bank financial performance, especially for PD. BPR Bahteramas Konawe in the context of OJK regulations.

Abstract

Human resources play a crucial role in shaping and developing companies, being a vital element for organizational sustainability. The success of a company heavily relies on the presence of talented and outstanding workforce capable of proactively adapting to the dynamics of globalization era. Every individual in the organization has the potential to influence the achievement of organizational goals, and in an increasingly competitive environment, employees must be diligent in their efforts. Quality human resources can be measured through their level of productivity, which is reflected in their ability to efficiently complete tasks and achieve set goals. Efforts to achieve company goals and targets become more easily attainable, and company growth is assured when employees have high levels of productivity. High work productivity helps companies enhance their growth, while less productive employees become impediments to achieving company targets. The company's focus on profitability and meeting the best consumer needs underscores the importance of sustainable work productivity. Employee work productivity becomes crucial as it contributes to the sustainable provision of quality products, thereby enabling the company's profit targets to be achieved. Work productivity, which is a comparison between the results achieved and the resources used, indirectly affects the company's profit achievement. Factors such as employee discipline also influence the level of work productivity, emphasizing the importance of effective human resource management in achieving organizational goals.

Abstract

Despite the series of monetary policies adopted by the Nigerian government over time, the (Nigerian) economy in comparison to other countries in the world like South Africa, the USA, Ghana, and the like is still improvised. Still, inconsistency between monetary policy formulation and implementation remains another major issues yet unattended to. It is in this regards that, the current study is dedicated towards examining the effect of monetary policy dynamics and the Nigeria’s global competitiveness from 1992 to 2021 (i.e., 30 years) using Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The study disclosed that, the variables are integrated at level and first difference while the ARDL Bound test evidenced that, the series cointegrates. Specifically, monetary policy rate has a positive minimal effect on Nigeria’s global competitiveness, while the CRR improved Nigeria’s global competitiveness significantly. However, both lending rates and exchange rates have a significant negative effect on economic competitiveness. Consequently, the paper concludes that both the cash reserve ratio and the Nigeria’s demeaning state are attributed to the high exchange rate (EXR) and high lending rates. Thus, the paper submits that the current monetary policy rates are sustained and that all DMBS should adhere to the stipulated Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) since it has improved the Nigeria’s global competitiveness significantly. Lastly, the study confirmed that, the missing link is the policy surmount on the part of the Nigerian government.

The regression coefficient (β) of 0.050 and the t value of 0.362 with probability (p) = 0.002 both demonstrate this. Company Value (Y) is significantly impacted by the CSR variable (X3). The t value of 0.530 and the regression coefficient (β) of 0.045, along with the probability (p) = 0.006, demonstrate this.
