Abstract

In an increasingly digital economy, many micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) face challenges in adapting their marketing strategies to remain visible and competitive, particularly in rural or underserved regions. This study investigates how MSMEs in Sawang District, North Aceh Regency, experience and perceive the impact of digital marketing on their sales performance. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using regression techniques to explore the association between digital marketing efforts and perceived business outcomes. The findings reveal a consistent positive relationship, suggesting that MSMEs that actively utilize digital tools—such as social media, websites, and online search platforms—tend to report more favorable assessments of their sales performance. Although both variables were assessed through self-reported measures, and therefore reflect perception rather than objective data, the results offer meaningful insight into how digital engagement shapes entrepreneurial confidence and strategic behavior. This underscores the importance of digital literacy, content effectiveness, and platform accessibility in empowering small businesses. The study recommends enhanced support through policy initiatives, training programs, and digital infrastructure to strengthen MSME capacity. Future research should consider integrating perceptual and objective indicators to more comprehensively assess the role of digital marketing in business development.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of environmental cost disclosure, environmental performance, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) on company profitability. The research focuses on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2024 period. The research method employed is multiple regression analysis to examine the relationship between the independent variables (environmental cost disclosure, environmental performance, and CSR) and the dependent variable (profitability, measured using the Return on Assets (ROA) ratio). The data used in this study were obtained from the annual reports of manufacturing companies listed on the IDX from 2020 to 2024. The findings of this study are expected to provide insights for companies in improving environmental management practices and CSR activities that can support sustainable financial performance. In addition, the results are also expected to serve as a consideration for regulators and other stakeholders in formulating policies related to corporate sustainability in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that CSR is the most dominant variable in enhancing company profitability, while environmental cost and environmental performance play a more long-term role as efforts to maintain business sustainability.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of User Generated Content (UGC) and Firm Generated Content (FGC) on brand engagement in social media, referred to as Social Media Brand Engagement (SMBE), as well as their effects on brand trust, consumer satisfaction, and perceived value. The research employs a quantitative approach, collecting data through surveys involving 369 respondents sampled from followers of residential property brand accounts and residential property influencer accounts in Indonesia. The findings indicate that both UGC and FGC have a significant positive influence on brand trust and perceived value, with SMBE serving as a mediator in these relationships. However, the results also reveal that Social Media Influencer Endorsement does significantly moderate the relationship between FGC and SMBE, and Self-image Congruence does significantly moderate the relationship between UGC and SMBE. The results of this study provide practical guidance for companies in the property sector to leverage UGC and FGC in their marketing strategies. By understanding the importance of brand engagement in social media, companies can enhance their relationships with consumers and achieve better outcomes in digital marketing.

Abstract

The rapid development of the digital economy has shifted the way micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) compete, demanding the continuous improvement of human capital to remain relevant in the creative industry sector. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital platform utilization and the challenges faced on the improvement of creative industry players’ skills in MSMEs fostered by CIC Hub Cirebon. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, using a saturated sample of 55 respondents representing the entire population. Data were collected through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, as well as simple linear regression with PLS. The results show that all measurement items meet convergent and discriminant validity criteria, with composite reliability > 0.70, indicating high construct reliability. The structural model yielded an R² value of 0.324, meaning that digital platform utilization and related challenges explain 32.4% of the variance in skill improvement, with significant path coefficients (p < 0.05). These findings are consistent with Human Capital Theory and the Resource-Based View, reinforcing those digital platforms are not merely marketing channels but strategic tools for structured skill enhancement. This research contributes theoretically by integrating human capital and digital capability perspectives and practically by providing a framework and training module that can be implemented to empower MSME creative industry players to compete in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the interconnection between cultural ecosystem services, community practices, and environmental degradation in the downstream area of the Batang Arau River, Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, archival analysis, and field observations. Findings indicate that the river functions not only as an ecological system but also as a cultural and social space, historically tied to traditions such as Selaju Sampan Dayung Palinggam and riverside livelihoods. However, ecological decline—driven by pollution, sedimentation, and weak institutional coordination—has disrupted cultural services, reduced community attachment, and weakened environmental stewardship. The results emphasize that sustainable ecosystem management (SEM) in urban river systems requires more than ecological restoration; it must also include socio-cultural revitalization and participatory governance. Theoretically, this study expands sustainability literature by underscoring the role of cultural ecosystem services and place-based identity. Empirically, it provides grounded evidence that informs inclusive policy strategies, highlighting community-based tourism, heritage conservation, and environmental education as pathways to restore ecological and cultural integrity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of risk management practices, financial literacy, and digital capability on business sustainability, with business resilience as a mediating variable in the context of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in East Java, Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 150 SME owners through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that all three independent variables have a significant positive effect on business sustainability, both directly and indirectly through business resilience. Among them, digital capability shows the strongest total effect. Furthermore, business resilience is confirmed to partially mediate the relationship between internal capabilities and sustainability outcomes. These findings highlight the critical role of resilience as a dynamic capability in sustaining SMEs under uncertain conditions. The study contributes to the development of a resilience-based sustainability framework and offers practical insights for policymakers and development agencies to design more integrated SME empowerment programs focusing on risk preparedness, financial competence, and digital transformation.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of competence and work discipline on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable at the Department of Transportation, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. The research employed a quantitative design with a census sampling method, involving all 70 employees as respondents. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 with the SEM–PLS approach. Results revealed that both competence and work discipline have significant positive effects on employee performance, with discipline emerging as the strongest direct predictor. Competence and discipline also positively influenced job satisfaction, which in turn significantly enhanced performance. Mediation analysis confirmed that job satisfaction partially mediated the relationship between competence and performance, as well as between discipline and performance, with stronger effects observed for discipline. These findings highlight that employee performance improvement requires not only technical competence and behavioral discipline but also psychological satisfaction at work. The study contributes theoretically by extending human resource management literature in the public sector and practically by offering actionable insights for policymakers to strengthen discipline systems, align competencies with job roles, and enhance satisfaction through recognition and career development.
