Abstract

Employee health is a crucial element that supports efficiency and the continuity of operations within a company. As one of the strategic state-owned enterprises in the port sector, PT Pelindo has many employees with various levels of occupational risk. Therefore, implementing a periodic health check-up program is an important preventive and promotional measure. The purpose of this community service activity is to raise employees' awareness about the importance of health check-ups, detect potential work-related illnesses early, and motivate the establishment of a healthy work culture. The methods used include regular health examinations, workplace health counseling, and evaluation of the results from these examinations. Findings from this activity indicate an increase in employees' knowledge related to workplace health, as well as the identification of several health risk cases that need to be addressed immediately. With this program, it is expected that employee well-being can improve while simultaneously supporting the company's productivity.

Abstract

This community service program aims to empower residents of Kedaung Kali Angke Subdistrict, West Jakarta, an area facing multiple challenges resulting from high population density, limited land availability, and recurrent flooding. These conditions have adversely affected household food security, increased dependence on external food supply chains, and constrained the capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in financial management and marketing. To address these issues, the program implements an integrated community empowerment model that combines urban hydroponic farming, the development of green MSMEs, and financial literacy enhancement as adaptive strategies for densely populated and flood-prone urban environments. The program is implemented through training, mentoring, and active community participation, focusing on three main components: (1) the adoption of adaptive hydroponic systems to strengthen household food security, (2) basic financial management training for MSMEs, including bookkeeping and cost analysis, and (3) the establishment of community-based green MSME networks to expand marketing opportunities and foster business collaboration. The expected outcomes include improved financial literacy, enhanced household food security, the formation of sustainable green MSME groups, and increased community income. Beyond its direct benefits to the target community, the proposed empowerment model has the potential to serve as a replicable framework for strengthening economic, social, and environmental resilience in other urban areas with similar characteristics.

Abstract

Mastering tax regulations and tax reporting through CoreTax is crucial for taxpayers, both individual and corporate taxpayers. Understanding taxes and developing tax reporting skills through CoreTax will encourage and improve taxpayer compliance. The purpose of this CoreTax education activity is to improve the understanding of lecturers and educational staff at the Husada Karya Jaya Nursing Academy. The method used in this CoreTax education is a service learning method, specifically a lecture method followed by direct practice on the CoreTax website. The activity stages start from the preparation stage, the implementation stage of the CoreTax education, and the evaluation stage. This activity successfully increased the participants' understanding of CoreTax and how to report it. However, this CoreTax education must be sustainable by means of participants actively practicing reporting taxes through CoreTax.

Abstract

The aim of this service activity is to find out steps to optimize Hamzanwadi Disability Services in supporting the development of students with autism in elementary schools. The focus of service is carried out at MIS NW Selong by involving teachers, parents and students as the main subjects. Students with autism in elementary school still face various obstacles, especially in aspects of communication, social interaction and behavior regulation. Therefore, structured and collaborative services are needed to support their learning needs. The method used in this activity is a descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Activities are carried out through initial assessment stages, teacher training, preparation of Individual Learning Programs (PPI), as well as assistance with the implementation of services in the classroom. The results of the service show that the optimization of Hamzanwadi disability services is effective and sustainable in increasing student involvement in the learning process. Collaboration between teachers and parents in implementing appropriate learning strategies can increase student motivation and learning responses. Apart from that, implementing a structured, consistent and supportive learning environment is an important factor in supporting student development, both in communication, social and behavioral aspects.

Abstract

Communities living in densely populated urban areas often face challenges related to food availability, limited land, and unstable household income. In Kedaung Kali Angke, West Jakarta, many residents rely on informal economic activities and small household businesses, while opportunities for productive urban farming and sustainable business development remain underutilized. Financial management skills among community members are also relatively low, particularly in bookkeeping, budgeting, and business planning. This international joint community service program, carried out through a collaboration between Universitas Mercu Buana and Universiti Sains Malaysia, addressed these conditions through an integrated empowerment approach combining hydroponic cultivation and financial literacy education. The activity was implemented on 24 April 2026 in Kedaung Kali Angke Sub-District, West Jakarta, and was attended by 75 participants. Sessions covered accounting education for entrepreneurs, hydroponic awareness, hands-on practice in urban agriculture systems, and open discussion. Evaluation results showed an overall community-service assessment index of 87.0% (Very Good category) and a participant satisfaction level of 92.7% (Satisfied to Very Satisfied), with an average conformity level between expectation and performance of 99.3%. The program is expected to strengthen household food security, improve financial literacy, and encourage the development of environmentally friendly green MSMEs, and supports Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2, 8, 11, and 12.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen food resilience and community capacity in the flood-prone urban area of Kedaung Kali Angke, West Jakarta, through a community-based hydroponic demonstration model. The program employed participatory training, practical demonstrations, mentoring, and international knowledge sharing involving Universitas Mercu Buana and Universiti Sains Malaysia. Activities included stakeholder coordination, installation of a Nutrient Film Technique hydroponic unit, cultivation training, monitoring, harvesting, and program evaluation. The program successfully established a permanent hydroponic demonstration unit as a community learning and food-production facility. Evaluation involving 51 respondents showed consistently high importance and satisfaction scores, generally exceeding 3.2 on a four-point scale. Participants positively evaluated the relevance, implementation, facilitator competence, participation, and benefits of the program. Continuous community management, maintenance, and periodic mentoring are recommended to sustain the hydroponic facility and support replication in other flood-prone urban communities.

Abstract

Mastery of mixed methods is crucial for researchers to produce high-quality research and publish their results in reputable journals. Expertise in mixed methods research is essential across various disciplines, both for research purposes, publication of research articles, and both. This workshop was conducted to meet the needs of lecturers and postgraduate students at Batam University. The methods used were lectures and practical data processing. The workshop also included practical quantitative data processing with Lisrel software and practical qualitative data processing with NVivo software. The workshop delivered excellent results. 98% of participants understood and were able to independently conduct mixed methods research, including processing research data with Lisrel and NVivo software. However, workshop participants were advised to review all workshop materials and immediately implement everything learned from this research methods workshop.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen household accounting literacy among housewives in the PKK group of Kelurahan Nambo, Kecamatan Nambo, Southeast Sulawesi, as a strategy to reduce household poverty risk. The method combined participatory adult-learning lectures, case simulations, small-group discussion, and four weeks of hands-on mentoring in filling household cash books, debt-monitoring cards, and monthly evaluation sheets. The program was attended by housewives active in PKK activities, with pre-test and post-test used to measure knowledge gains. Results showed an increase in participants' understanding of budgeting, cash-flow recording, and emergency-fund planning, along with growing ability to separate household and side-business funds. The program is recommended to continue through periodic mentoring by local PKK cadres to sustain behavioral change.
