Abstract

Hypertension is a common health problem and is known as the "silent killer." Non-pharmacological therapy is an increasingly needed alternative, especially since hypertension medications can cause long-term side effects. This study seeks to ascertain the extent to which hypertension patients' blood pressure is impacted by acupressure therapy and a hypertension diet, as well as the community's level of ability in this area. Anjir Serapat Muara 1 Village's 33 hypertensive residents were the subjects of this research. A single-group pretest-posttest design was employed in the quasi-experimental procedure. The results demonstrated that following treatment, 84.4% of individuals saw a reduction in blood pressure. This treatment has been successful in reducing blood pressure in most individuals with hypertension and can be utilised as an additional intervention in the community's hypertension care.

Abstract

Hypertension is a long-term non-communicable condition influenced by both physiological and psychological factors, highlighting the need for complementary non-pharmacological interventions in blood pressure management. Five-finger hypnosis therapy is a relaxation technique that can be utilized in nursing care as an intervention for managing blood pressure. This community service activity was conducted to implement five-finger hypnosis therapy as part of a holistic nursing approach for residents with hypertension in Anjir Serapat Muara 1 Village. A total of 33 respondents participated in health education sessions, guided five-finger hypnosis practice, and blood pressure measurements conducted before and after the intervention. The findings indicated that 84.8% of respondents exhibited a decrease in systolic blood pressure, whereas 39.4% demonstrated a reduction in diastolic blood pressure. The mean systolic blood pressure decreased from 151 mmHg to 138 mmHg, and the mean diastolic blood pressure decreased from 95 mmHg to 91 mmHg.

Abstract

This community development aims to invite elementary school children from grades 3 to 6 in the Griya Yasa housing complex, to be able to utilize plastic bottle waste as a demonstration tool for the human respiratory system. Where in the Griya Yasa housing complex, plastic bottle waste in each house is collected. The use of plastic bottle waste as a demonstration tool for the human respiratory system aims to train the creativity of elementary school children and be able to apply science lessons on the human respiratory system. Where the production of plastic waste in Indonesia continues to rise annually in line with population growth. Plastic waste is one of the main environmental issues in this decade. The result of this community service for elementary school children is the importance of being able to utilize used goods to make demonstration tools. The children were very enthusiastic in making it.

Abstract

Hypertension is characterized by a systolic blood pressure (SBP) of at least 130 mm Hg and/or a diastolic blood pressure (DBP) exceeding 80 mmHg. Foot reflexology has demonstrated effectiveness in lowering heart rate (HR) among patients with stage 2 hypertension, and it has also been partially effective in reducing blood pressure. This research aimed to examine the impact of foot reflexology massage on decreasing blood pressure in hypertensive individuals. The intervention involved providing reflexology massage to a randomly selected group of 20 participants. Blood pressure readings were collected before and after the intervention. Statistical analysis using the paired sample t-test revealed a significant reduction in blood pressure, with a p-value below 0.001. Based on these findings, it is suggested that people with hypertension practice foot reflexology independently at home, and that healthcare providers at community health centers deliver education about the benefits of this therapy in managing blood pressure.

Abstract

Games are commonly played for entertainment, leisure, and recreational purposes. Among adolescents, online games have become especially popular, offering both potential benefits and challenges. While some studies highlight their role in enhancing cognitive skills, collaboration, and motivation, excessive gaming can also negatively impact academic performance and time management. This study aimed to examine the influence of online gaming on the learning activities of senior high school students. Data were collected through using structured questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, observations and distributed to 18 tenth-grade students at Thursina IIBS. The findings indicate that although many students engage in popular titles such as Mobile Legend (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang), PUBG: Battlegrounds (PlayerUnknown’s Battleground), EA SPORTS™ FIFA Mobile Soccer, eFootball™ 2024 (Konami), Roblox, Race Master 3D – Car Racing, Brawl Stars, and Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), the overall effect of gaming on learning activities depends largely on how students manage their time. Most respondents reported being able to balance gaming with study responsibilities, suggesting that online gaming does not necessarily hinder learning outcomes when moderated appropriately.

Abstract

As part of Geopark Meratus and Tahura Sultan Adam, Pamaton site holds a significance role in preserving and maintaining its landscape. Pamaton site also has so many important heritage sites from South’s Kalimantan history. On the other hand, the site has so many potentials for Low Carbon Emission Tourism (LCET) which can also enhance economy for the locals. Therefore, this activity is a form of community development to give a clear vision of Pamaton site as an ecotourism area for locals and its local government. The methods were educational campaign about how ecotourism could be a win-win solution to develop Pamaton site while still actively maintaining its natural landscape. Some main concepts to develop LCET in Pamaton site are green buildings, integrating walkability principle with tourism attraction such as hiking and cycling, introducing local culture through local food and urban legend etc. Therefore, Pamaton needs a masterplan for tourism development. For long term planning, Pamaton site has big potential to develop renewable energy due to its exposure of sunrays and wind which needs further research.

Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in school learning can enhance instructional quality and efficiency; however, its use by teachers remains fragmented. This community development activity, conducted by the Department of Mathematics at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat, aimed to improve teachers’ knowledge and skills through training and mentoring that emphasized the integrated use of ChatGPT, Gamma AI, and Presentations.AI. The program was implemented at SMP Negeri 12 Banjarbaru, Indonesia, involving teachers from various subject areas. Activities included AI-based training, hands-on mentoring, and pre- and post-activity evaluation. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Results showed that improvements related to ChatGPT were not statistically significant (p > 0.05), whereas improvements with Gamma AI were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Improvements in Presentations.AI usage and integrated AI application skills were highly significant (p < 0.01). These findings indicate that integrated AI-based mentoring effectively enhances teacher competence at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Medicines are essential for maintaining and improving public health. People often store medicines at home for ongoing use, future needs, or leftover treatments. However, storage practices frequently ignore proper guidelines, risking decreased drug quality and medication errors. This activity aimed to improve community knowledge at Hamparan Warga Indah Complex on safe drug storage, including expiration and beyond-use dates. Methods included structured interviews with observation and health promotion via direct counseling supported by leaflets and educational videos. Evaluation used pretest and posttest to measure knowledge changes. Results showed significant improvement, with average scores rising from 71.42% to 98.57%. Knowledge increased across all indicators, demonstrating the activity's effectiveness in enhancing community understanding of proper household drug storage. The intervention successfully addressed storage misconceptions and reinforced safe medication management at home, contributing to better public health outcomes through improved individual practices.
