Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of learning interest and learning discipline on student learning outcomes, as well as to examine the role of learning motivation as a mediating variable at a public vocational high school in Indonesia. The main issue underlying this study is the low level of student motivation and discipline, as evidenced by passive attitudes, low self-confidence, and a lack of readiness to participate in learning. The method used was quantitative research with data collection via closed-ended questionnaires, observation, and report card documentation. The sample consisted of 128 students, selected using proportional random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 4). The results of the study indicate that interest in learning and discipline in learning have a significant effect on learning outcomes, both directly and indirectly through learning motivation as a mediating variable. These findings support Vroom’s motivation theory and Bloom’s concept of learning outcomes, while also demonstrating that motivation serves as a crucial link between attitude, regulatory behavior, and academic achievement. The findings of this study emphasize that improving students’ interest and discipline in learning requires contextual learning experiences, in line with the principles of human resource development. Teachers serve as learning managers who employ performance management approaches to enhance students’ motivation, engagement, and learning behaviors.

Abstract

Understanding the determinants of Generation Z’s sustained use of Artificial Intelligence-based career assistance is essential, as this cohort increasingly relies on Artificial Intelligence technologies to make high-stakes career decisions. The research examines how information quality shapes performance expectancy and trust, and how performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and trust influence the intention to continue using Artificial Intelligence-based career tools. A quantitative explanatory design with exploratory elements was employed. Data were collected via an online questionnaire distributed to Generation Z individuals who have used Artificial Intelligence for career-related activities, yielding 213 valid respondents. The data were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings reveal that information quality significantly enhances both performance expectancy and trust. Performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions had significant positive effects on the intention to continue using Artificial Intelligence for career preparation. Trust also demonstrated a crucial mediating role in reinforcing continued usage intention. Meanwhile, effort expectancy did not significantly affect intention to continue. Overall, the results highlight the importance of delivering accurate, relevant, and reliable Artificial Intelligence-generated information and building user trust to support sustained Artificial Intelligence adoption among Generation Z.

Abstract

Work engagement is a key factor determining an organization’s success in achieving optimal performance. Adequate human resources are believed to enhance employee motivation and commitment, thereby fostering a more productive work environment. This study aims to analyze the role of human resources in enhancing work engagement, with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. The research method employed is a quantitative approach using convenience sampling. A total of 350 active employees in Indonesia participated in this study by completing an online questionnaire using the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale by Schaufeli & Bakker in 2004, the Job Demands-Resources Questionnaire by Bakker in 2014, and the Job Satisfaction Measurement: The Alternative Method by Suyasa in 2007. The results indicate that job resources contribute positively and significantly to increased work engagement, and job satisfaction was found to act as a partial mediator in this relationship. These findings have important implications for organizations in designing and implementing human resource management strategies focused on enhancing job satisfaction as a means to strengthen employee work engagement.

Abstract

For students, low self-esteem is a psychological issue that impacts their academic, emotional, and social development. Research has found that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most widely used counseling methods to address this issue. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in improving students’ self-esteem and to identify the factors contributing to its success. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using a structured approach that includes the identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion stages. This procedure was used to systematically identify, select, and analyze 1,087 articles indexed in Sinta and Scopus published between 2016 and 2025. The results indicate that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is effective in enhancing students’ self-esteem through cognitive restructuring and anxiety reduction, supported by individual and group interventions as well as enabling factors such as counselor competence and student engagement. These findings suggest that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be used by school counselors and guidance counselors as an effective intervention to improve students’ self-esteem. Furthermore, this study encourages the development of a more systematic, adaptive, and technology-integrated implementation of CBT in future counseling services.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of character education in fostering students' digital responsibility and ethical behavior regarding the use of machine translation tools for academic purposes. The main focus of this research is the internalization of character education values such as honesty, responsibility, and academic integrity in students’ digital practices, particularly in their use of google translate. The study conducted a qualitative method with a case study approach, enabling an in depth understanding of the phenomenon within real social and education contexts. Data were collected through in depth interviews and classroom observations. The result show that character education significantly influences how students utilize Google Translate. Students who receive consistent character education demonstrate higher ethical awareness in using google translate, including the ability to distinguish between constructive academic assistance and academic plagiarism. Conversely, insufficient character development leads to increased dependence on google translate without critical reflection. The implications of the study underscore the importance of integrating character education into digital based curricula to foster ethical literacy and academic responsibility in the technological era. Schools are therefore encouraged to develop learning strategies that integrate character education with digital competencies, enabling students to use google translate wisely, responsibly, and ethically.

Abstract

Indonesia possesses a diverse array of customary laws that remain vibrant and evolving within its communities. However, not all customary legal practices can automatically serve as a legal basis from an Islamic legal perspective. This study aims to fill a gap in the literature by explaining how the principle of al-‘Adah al-Muhakkamah views the application of customary law as practiced in society, particularly in the context of customary marriage. This study employs a qualitative method using a case study approach, with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and document analysis. The research location is in a specific region within Jambi Province, Indonesia. The findings reveal that the customary law in effect among a particular community group in the Jambi region requires a letter of permission (tengganai permit) as one of the administrative prerequisites for processing a marriage referral letter at the village level. From the perspective of al-‘Adah al-Muhakkamah, this customary practice does not conflict with Islamic law; it applies generally to the community, is consistently enforced, and has been passed down through generations. In addition to serving as an administrative formality, the requirement for a tengganai permit also functions as a protective mechanism for women and nieces, as well as a form of customary social control to ensure the man’s responsibility before the marriage takes place. The implications of this research indicate that the implementation of the tengganai permit can serve as a model for integrating customary law and Islamic law that safeguards the welfare and dignity of marriage. Furthermore, this practice underscores the importance of local wisdom as a social protection mechanism that aligns with religious principles and state regulations.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in advancing multicultural education within schools and madrasas. Diversity in ethnicity, religion, race, and social class often creates potential tensions, making the presence of Islamic Religious Education teachers essential in cultivating tolerance and harmony. Through a literature review of the National Education Law and the Law on Teachers and Lecturers, combined with thematic analysis of previous research, this study highlights how teachers function as facilitators of multicultural learning. The findings reveal that teachers integrate multicultural values into learning objectives, strengthen Islamic character in instructional materials, apply cooperative learning methods to encourage teamwork, and utilize project-based evaluation to promote inclusivity. Beyond delivering religious content, Islamic Religious Education teachers nurture attitudes of tolerance, inclusivity, and respect for diversity. This research contributes to the development of pedagogical frameworks that empower teachers to implement multicultural education effectively, thereby supporting the creation of a harmonious and religiously grounded society.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of microeconomic and macroeconomic factors on stock returns and determine which factors are more dominant. This topic is important because identifying the determinants of stock returns can support investors in making informed investment decisions and enrich empirical evidence from emerging capital markets. The microeconomic variables analyzed include profitability, trading volume, and dividend policy, while the macroeconomic variables consist of inflation, interest rates, and exchange rates. The study uses secondary data obtained from company financial reports of firms listed in the LQ45 Index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data are analyzed using panel data regression with the Random Effect Model (REM) approach. The results show that profitability, trading volume, and dividend policy have a positive and significant effect on stock returns. Inflation and interest rates do not have a significant effect on stock returns. In contrast, the exchange rate has a negative and significant effect on stock returns. Overall, microeconomic factors are more dominant than macroeconomic factors in explaining stock returns.
