Abstract

Limited visual design capacity in community-based early childhood education institutions can constrain public communication and new student admission promotion. Prior to the program, the partner institutions mainly disseminated school information through plain text messages and had not established consistent visual materials. This community service program aimed to strengthen teachers' ability to produce Canva-based visual communication materials while establishing reusable institutional templates. The training was conducted on 9 May 2026 at KB Tunas Bangsa, Kediri Village, Karanglewas District, Banyumas Regency, involving six teachers from KB Tunas Bangsa and TK Pertiwi 5 Kediri. A product-based training approach was implemented through three stages: introduction to Canva and basic visual design principles, guided design practice, and template standardization with distribution preparation. Achievement was evaluated descriptively based on product completion. All participants completed a school introduction poster and a new student admission flyer that were ready for print and digital distribution. A reusable institutional template was also established to support continuity of visual communication. The activity indicates that Canva is a feasible tool for resource-constrained early childhood education institutions to improve consistency in public-facing visual communication. Nevertheless, the program did not employ pre-test/post-test measures or assess the impact of the materials on communication reach and enrolment outcomes; therefore, follow-up evaluation is required.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has fundamentally transformed the global job market landscape, where the World Economic Forum projects that nine out of ten future jobs will require basic to intermediate digital skills. However, traditional religious educational institutions such as Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Darul Falah in Selangor, Malaysia, still face challenges regarding limited practical digital literacy and technology integration in the entrepreneurship curriculum for graduating students. This International Community Service (PKM) program aims to equip students with a deep understanding and practical skills in leveraging the AI ecosystem to build digital businesses and establish careers as digital freelancers post-graduation. The service partner is Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Darul Falah Selangor, targeting 45 final-year students. The implementation method was comprehensively designed based on Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), incorporating initial observation, interactive lectures, hands-on workshops on AI tools (Generative AI for digital marketing assets, product visual design, and video content creation), and impact evaluation. The results demonstrated a significant increase in conceptual understanding and technical skills, with the average comprehension score rising from 38.40% in the pre-test to 88.60% in the post-test. Furthermore, 88.89% of participants successfully generated ready-to-use digital marketing asset portfolios using AI tools. This program proved highly effective in providing competitive advantages for tahfiz students to thrive professionally in the digital era while preserving religious values.

Abstract

Community service activity themed “Efforts to Foster Agents of Democracy Through National Political Education for the Karangtaruna Tunas Harapan in Tonggara Village, Kedungbanteng Distrrict” has been implemented well. This activity aims to improve understading of national political education among the members of the Karangtaruna Tunas Harapan, and establishing it as an agent for upholder of democracy. Based on the results of the activities, the impelementation of community service focuses on three main aspects, that is improvement of literacy and political education awareness, leadership training, and innovation in program development. The conclusions indicate the impelementation of the program successfully addressed the main challenges faced by the partners. Through outreach activities, political education, leadership training, and organizational governance, as well as assistance to youth organization members regarding the importance of understanding political education in fostering agents of democracy.

Abstract

Tamburi Village, located in the Rindi District of East Sumba, possesses significant potential rooted in its rich traditions and local knowledge—particularly regarding land management, livestock rearing, and tie weaving. However, the community remains heavily reliant on traditional farming practices and livestock management methods that are ill-suited to local environmental conditions. Furthermore, they face challenges such as an inability to utilize digital information for various needs, limited knowledge regarding the promotion of woven fabrics and organic fertilizer production, and a lack of signage directing visitors to the village. The objective of this community service initiative is to identify and address development challenges in Tamburi Village through programs tailored to local needs and potential. The project engages various stakeholders, including village officials, housewives, farmer groups, livestock breeders, and students. A descriptive-qualitative approach was employed for implementation. The results indicate that, in the agricultural and livestock sectors, the community has gained new knowledge to ensure the sustainability of cost-effective and high-value horticultural and livestock enterprises. In the education sector, children have shown increased interest in learning. Regarding digital information, village officials are now capable of independently managing the village information system. Additionally, signage directing visitors to the village has been installed, making it easier for newcomers to navigate their way to Tamburi.

Abstract

Premarital preparation education was conducted for adolescents in Karasan Hamlet, Candirejo Village, Ngawen District, Klaten Regency, to improve their understanding of readiness for family life. The activity was held on 28 July 2026 from 19.30–21.30 WIB at the residence of Davin and involved approximately 40 adolescents aged 14–25 years. A participatory approach was used through counseling, discussion, question-and-answer, and oral evaluation. The materials covered mental and spiritual readiness, reproductive health and preconception, family communication, conflict management, and economic readiness. Interview findings indicated changes in participants’ understanding of marriage, from a view focused mainly on romantic relationships to an understanding that marriage requires physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, health, communication, and economic preparation. Participants also began planning their education, employment, savings, self-development, and health before marriage. The activity indicates that premarital education can serve as a preventive effort to help adolescents plan family life more maturely.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to provide technical assistance in organizing a seven-round Swiss-system chess tournament at the Langkah Gaib Chess Club in Banjarmasin as part of the celebration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The main challenges in community-based chess tournaments include participant management, pairing, result recording, standings updates, and final ranking based on tie-break criteria. The activity was implemented through coordination, participant data preparation, tournament configuration, pairing assistance for each round, result verification, and evaluation. ChessManager was used as a digital tournament management platform to improve the efficiency and accuracy of tournament administration. The tournament consisted of seven Swiss-system rounds. The final standings showed that Sukran Aran ranked first with 6.5 points, followed by Sani with 6 points and Paman Yuli with 5.5 points. The assistance demonstrated that combining technical knowledge with digital tournament management can support a more systematic, transparent, and efficient chess competition. In addition to improving the capacity of tournament organizers, the activity strengthened sportsmanship, social interaction, and community engagement among chess players in Banjarmasin.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) was implemented at two locations: Ubu Raya Village in West Sumba Regency and the Kanatang Laboratory in Waingapu, East Sumba Regency. The program focused on capacity building for the community in the sectors of agriculture, economics, and education, as well as the development of sustainable livestock feed. In Ubu Raya Village, key issues included high agricultural production costs due to reliance on chemical fertilizers, poor household financial management, and low literacy and numeracy levels among primary school children. Activities included conducting outreach on producing *bokashi* organic fertilizer from livestock manure, providing guidance on family financial management, and holding non-formal learning classes for children. At the Kanatang Laboratory, activities focused on cultivating Odot grass as a highly nutritious alternative livestock feed. These activities encompassed land clearing, bed preparation, Odot grass planting, maintenance through regular watering, and the use of goat manure as organic fertilizer. Additionally, the areas surrounding the cattle pen and greenhouse were cleaned to create a safe, healthy, and tidy environment. Results showed optimal Odot grass growth with increased forage productivity; goats exhibited rapid physical growth and clean coats; and the pen environment became safer regarding fire risks and pest infestations. Overall, the program at both locations contributed to fostering food self-sufficiency, strengthening economic resilience, enhancing human resource quality, and supporting sustainable livestock systems as a foundation for inclusive and competitive village development.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk Meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Surat Al-Fatihah pada lansia, memberikan pemahaman dasar tentang makharijul huruf dan hukum tajwid dalam Surat Al-Fatihah, dan mningkatkan kesadaran lansia akan pentingnya membaca Al-Qur’an dengan benar dalam ibadah shalat, serta membangun kepercayaan diri lansia dalam membaca Al-Qur’an di majelis ta’lim Nurul Iman Sawah Baru. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, antara lain: 1) Tahap observasi, pada tahap ini tim pelaksana PkM melakukan observasi ke Majelis Ta’lim. Tim PkM meminta izin kepada ketua majelis ta’lim, menentukan jadwal dan mendiskusikan materi atau tema pengabdian yang tepat serta sarana yang akan digunakan, 2) Tahap perencanaan, pada tahap ini tim PkM melakukan pembekalan dan menyusun proposal PkM, 3) Tahap persiapan, pada tahap ini tim PkM berkomunikasi kembali dengan pihak majelis ta’lim untuk menentukan jumlah peserta, tempat dan metode sosialisasi, 4) Tahap pelaksanaan, pada tahap ini berlangsung kegiatan PkM, yaitu ceramah dan dan demonstrasi atau praktek membaca surat al-Ftaiah dengan metode musyafahah dan drill, kegiatan selanjutnya adalah diskusi atau tanya jawab terkait materi, dan evaluasi. Adapun hasil yang dicapai dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu program tahsin surat al-fatihah terlaksana dengan baik dan jamaah Majelis Taa;lim khusunya lansia berhasil meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam membaca Surat Al-Fatihah sesuai kaidah tajwid, memperbaiki makharijul huruf, meningkatkan kelancaran membaca, serta meningkatkan kepercayaan dirinya dalam melaksanakan ibadah shalat.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires adaptation not only in the learning process but also in school management and administration. This community service is driven by the need for educators and educational staff at SMK “Tunas Kemajuan” to improve the efficiency of administrative work in the office. This activity is a form of fulfilling the Tri Dharma of Higher Education by a Lecturer from Universitas Budi Luhur Jakarta. The implementation method includes intensive training on the use of ChatGPT to support office work, carried out in the school's computer lab with direct mentoring by two students as facilitators. Post-training evaluation was conducted through in-depth interviews to measure participants' understanding and perceived benefits. The results show that the training successfully improved digital literacy and work efficiency in drafting correspondence, summarizing documents, and managing administrative data. Participants stated that the integration of ChatGPT can significantly cut down the time required for administrative tasks.

Abstract

This community service program was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Nafidatunnajah to address the manual and fragmented management of Scout extracurricular activities. The program aimed to implement and assist the use of a Google Sites-based digital Scout system as a medium for information, administration, attendance, documentation, and activity evaluation. The implementation method consisted of partner needs observation, portal design, Google Sites implementation integrated with Google Forms, Google Sheets, and Google Drive, user mentoring, simulation, and evaluation. The activity involved 20 participants consisting of Scout supervisors, activity managers, and students. The results showed that the digital Scout portal was successfully developed and could be accessed easily, helped organize administration, stored documentation systematically, and improved partners' understanding of managing the system independently. This system provides a simple and sustainable solution to support the digital transformation of extracurricular activities in pesantren environments.
