Abstract

The development of responsibility character in early childhood is a crucial aspect that cannot be separated from the role of parents in the parenting process. This study aims to describe the influence of parenting styles on the formation of responsibility character in early childhood within the community of Cikampek Barat Village, RW 18, Karawang Regency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques consisting of observation and open-ended interviews. The research subjects comprised five early childhood children aged 4–6 years and five parents as the primary informants. Data validity was examined through triangulation techniques, while data analysis was conducted using the interactive analysis model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the parenting styles applied by parents are not singular in nature but vary in accordance with family habits and communication patterns. Two dominant parenting styles were identified, namely democratic parenting and authoritarian parenting. Children raised under democratic parenting demonstrated more optimal development of responsibility character, characterized by greater independence, openness, and self-awareness. In contrast, children raised under authoritarian parenting tended to exhibit compliance driven by fear rather than by an internalized understanding of responsibility values. This study affirms that an appropriate parenting style, one that integrates warmth, effective communication, and reasonable supervision, is proven to support the formation of stable responsibility character in early childhood.

Abstract

This research aims to explore spiritual experiences as an addiction recovery mechanism in individuals undergoing pesantren-based rehabilitation. This study uses a qualitative approach with an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) design to understand the life experiences of participants in interpreting the recovery process. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, observations, and field records of individuals who are undergoing or have completed pesantren-based rehabilitation programs. The results show that spiritual experiences play an important role as an important mechanism in addiction recovery through four main dimensions, namely: spiritual awareness as a turning point for change, spiritual practice as a means of self-regulation against craving and prevention of relapse, religious community as a source of recovery support, and identity reconstruction as part of recovery transformation. These findings suggest that addiction recovery in the context of pesantren-based rehabilitation is not only related to the cessation of substance use, but is a psychospiritual process that involves a change in the meaning of life, self-control, communal support, and the formation of a new identity. This study proposes the concept of spiritual recovery mechanism as a theoretical contribution to expand the perspective of recovery capital in the study of addiction recovery.

Abstract

The family is the primary and most influential institution in a child’s educational development, where Islamic values are deeply instilled through parenting patterns rooted in the Qur’an and the Sunnah. In this context, Tafsir al-Maraghi by Ahmad Musthafa al-Maraghi holds a significant role as it presents rational, contextual, and educationally rich interpretations of the Qur’an. This study aims to examine the concept of Islamic parenting within Tafsir al-Maraghi and to explore Islamic educational values applicable to family life. This research employs a library research method with a thematic (maudhū‘i) approach and content analysis. The primary source is Tafsir al-Maraghi, supported by secondary sources from Islamic education and family psychology literature. The findings reveal four fundamental pillars of education in Tafsir al-Maraghi: monotheistic education (tauhid), parental moral exemplarity, affection and communication within the family, and the habituation of worship and social responsibility. These values align with contemporary Islamic parenting principles emphasizing the balance between love, discipline, and spirituality.

Abstract

This study examines the values of pluralism in Islamic religious education through the perspective of Al-Qasimi’s exegesis (Mahasin at-Ta’wil). This study stems from the reality of diversity in Indonesian society, which demands a religious understanding that is inclusive, tolerant, and in harmony with the social context. The research method used is descriptive-analytical with a qualitative approach based on a literature review, with the primary source being Al-Qasimi’s interpretation of Qur’anic verses related to pluralism and tolerance. The analysis reveals that Al-Qasimi interprets verses on pluralism in a moderate and rational manner. Through Surah Al-Hujurat: 13, he emphasizes human equality and the importance of mutual understanding (ta’aruf) as the purpose of diversity. In Surah Al-Kafirun: 6, he affirms the principle of religious freedom without coercion. Meanwhile, in QS. Al-An’am: 108, he highlights the ethics of interfaith dialogue and the prohibition against denigrating other beliefs to maintain social harmony. These values of pluralism have strategic implications for Islamic religious education, particularly in shaping students’ character to respect differences, uphold justice, and engage in polite dialogue with various groups. Thus, the Al-Qasimi Exegesis makes a significant contribution to the development of moderate, humanistic Islamic education that is responsive to the challenges of diversity in the modern era.

Abstract

This study explores the political and religious dynamics of Islam during the Safavid Dynasty in Persia and the Mughal Dynasty in India, using a library research method. Both were major Islamic empires from the 16th to the 18th century that played significant roles in shaping religious identity and systems of Islamic governance in the East. The Safavid Dynasty is known for its theocratic governance and establishment of Twelver Shi’ism as the official state religion, while the Mughal Dynasty is recognized for its pluralistic approach and tolerance of religious diversity. The findings indicate that both dynasties utilized religion as a source of political legitimacy, but with different strategies and consequences. This article offers a conceptual comparison between the exclusive Safavid model and the pluralistic Mughal model, highlighting their relevance to contemporary discussions on Islam and politics.

Abstract

Inclusive education is a strategic effort to achieve equal access to education for all children, including those with special needs. However, its implementation in Tarakan City still faces various obstacles, particularly in meeting parents' needs for appropriate, child-friendly, and adaptive educational services to the diversity of student abilities. This study aims to analyze the primary needs of parents of students with special needs in the implementation of inclusive education in Tarakan City. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with research locations in several elementary and secondary schools that provide inclusive education in Tarakan City. Research informants included parents of students with special needs, accompanying teachers, and school officials selected by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using thematic analysis through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the needs of parents of students with special needs include five main indicators: school safety and comfort, teacher competence in handling students with special needs, curriculum flexibility that allows for learning differentiation, the availability of facilities and infrastructure that support inclusive learning, and social support and policies that favor children with special needs. These five indicators show that the ideal implementation of inclusive education requires not only equal access, but also a quality, adaptive, and equitable education system, with policy support and active collaboration between local governments, schools, teachers, and the community.

Abstract

Achievement motivation is an important factor determining students' success in the learning process. Initial findings in class XI Light Vehicle Body Engineering (TBKR) at SMK Negeri 2 Pangkep show that some students have low achievement motivation, characterized by passive behavior, lack of academic responsibility, and minimal effort to achieve optimal learning outcomes. This research aims to develop a sociodrama group guidance model based on Pappaseng to Riolo as an effort to increase students' achievement motivation. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) by adapting a development model that includes needs analysis, prototype preparation, expert validation, and practicality testing. The values of local wisdom in Bugis Pappaseng to Riolo, especially the principle of resopa temmangingngi namalomo naletei pammase dewata, are integrated into the sociodrama scenario to foster hard work, responsibility, and perseverance. The results show that the developed model is in the very valid category based on expert assessment, and is considered practical to be applied in group guidance services in schools. Thus, the Pappaseng to Riolo-based sociodrama model is effective as an alternative guidance and counseling service to increase vocational students' achievement motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the practicality of the e-booklet “Aku Ada, Aku Berharga” (“I Exist, I Am Valuable”) as an educational and preventive medium to reduce self-injury behavior among students of SMP Negeri 5 Makassar. The rise in self-injury among adolescents is associated with difficulties in managing stress, social pressure, and low self-worth. Therefore, there is a need for educational, contextual, and easily accessible informational media for students. This research employed a modified Borg & Gall development model consisting of seven stages: preliminary study, initial design planning, prototype development, expert validation, product revision, limited trial, and final refinement. Data were collected through student needs questionnaires, expert validation sheets for content and media, and practicality assessments conducted by Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers and students. The results indicate that the e-booklet achieved a “very valid” rating in terms of content, appearance, and language, and was categorized as “very practical” based on user evaluations. The e-booklet was perceived as engaging, communicative, and aligned with adolescents’ psychosocial needs. Thus, the “Aku Ada, Aku Berharga” e-booklet is feasible to be used as a preventive counseling medium to enhance students’ understanding, emotional regulation, and self-worth in efforts to prevent self-injury behavior.
