Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile, initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture, aims to shape students who are not only intellectually capable but also spiritually and morally grounded. One of the core elements of this profile is developing faith in God Almighty, religious devotion, and noble character. In the face of increasing challenges in education, teacher creativity plays a vital role in fostering effective, inspiring, and meaningful learning experiences. This study, entitled "The Relevance of Religious-Based Activities to the Pancasila Student Profile Element: Faith in God Almighty, Devotion, and Noble Character in Strengthening Character Education at SMP IT Al-Mubarok Kras Kediri", adopts a qualitative descriptive approach. The purpose of this research is to explore how religious-based activities contribute to character formation aligned with the Pancasila Student Profile. The findings reveal that: (1) Religious activities at SMP IT Al-Mubarok are systematically implemented through daily, weekly, and incidental programs; (2) The implementation faces several challenges, such as diverse student backgrounds and limited parental involvement; (3) These religious-based activities are highly relevant and supportive of the Pancasila Student Profile, particularly in strengthening students’ faith, religious devotion, and moral character. This study emphasizes the importance of religious education as a foundation for character development and recommends strengthening religious-based programs through integrated collaboration among schools, teachers, and parents.

Abstract

The family is the primary and most influential institution in a child’s educational development, where Islamic values are deeply instilled through parenting patterns rooted in the Qur’an and the Sunnah. In this context, Tafsir al-Maraghi by Ahmad Musthafa al-Maraghi holds a significant role as it presents rational, contextual, and educationally rich interpretations of the Qur’an. This study aims to examine the concept of Islamic parenting within Tafsir al-Maraghi and to explore Islamic educational values applicable to family life. This research employs a library research method with a thematic (maudhū‘i) approach and content analysis. The primary source is Tafsir al-Maraghi, supported by secondary sources from Islamic education and family psychology literature. The findings reveal four fundamental pillars of education in Tafsir al-Maraghi: monotheistic education (tauhid), parental moral exemplarity, affection and communication within the family, and the habituation of worship and social responsibility. These values align with contemporary Islamic parenting principles emphasizing the balance between love, discipline, and spirituality.

Abstract

This study examines the values of pluralism in Islamic religious education through the perspective of Al-Qasimi’s exegesis (Mahasin at-Ta’wil). This study stems from the reality of diversity in Indonesian society, which demands a religious understanding that is inclusive, tolerant, and in harmony with the social context. The research method used is descriptive-analytical with a qualitative approach based on a literature review, with the primary source being Al-Qasimi’s interpretation of Qur’anic verses related to pluralism and tolerance. The analysis reveals that Al-Qasimi interprets verses on pluralism in a moderate and rational manner. Through Surah Al-Hujurat: 13, he emphasizes human equality and the importance of mutual understanding (ta’aruf) as the purpose of diversity. In Surah Al-Kafirun: 6, he affirms the principle of religious freedom without coercion. Meanwhile, in QS. Al-An’am: 108, he highlights the ethics of interfaith dialogue and the prohibition against denigrating other beliefs to maintain social harmony. These values of pluralism have strategic implications for Islamic religious education, particularly in shaping students’ character to respect differences, uphold justice, and engage in polite dialogue with various groups. Thus, the Al-Qasimi Exegesis makes a significant contribution to the development of moderate, humanistic Islamic education that is responsive to the challenges of diversity in the modern era.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of students’ learning independence and religious attitudes in Islamic Education learning, which is still dominated by conventional methods and has not encouraged deep understanding. This study aims to analyze the effect of deep learning on students’ learning independence and religious attitudes in sixth-grade students at SDN 124 Palembang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consisted of sixth-grade students divided into experimental and control classes. Data collection techniques were conducted through learning independence and religious attitude questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used inferential statistical tests including normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and F-tests. The results showed that: (1) deep learning had a significant effect on students’ learning independence; (2) deep learning had a significant effect on students’ religious attitudes; and (3) deep learning simultaneously had a positive effect on learning independence and religious attitudes. Therefore, the deep learning approach is effectively implemented in Islamic Education learning to improve the quality of student learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study explores the political and religious dynamics of Islam during the Safavid Dynasty in Persia and the Mughal Dynasty in India, using a library research method. Both were major Islamic empires from the 16th to the 18th century that played significant roles in shaping religious identity and systems of Islamic governance in the East. The Safavid Dynasty is known for its theocratic governance and establishment of Twelver Shi’ism as the official state religion, while the Mughal Dynasty is recognized for its pluralistic approach and tolerance of religious diversity. The findings indicate that both dynasties utilized religion as a source of political legitimacy, but with different strategies and consequences. This article offers a conceptual comparison between the exclusive Safavid model and the pluralistic Mughal model, highlighting their relevance to contemporary discussions on Islam and politics.
