Abstract

The issue of waste, especially plastic waste, has become a crucial problem in Indonesia, leading to ecosystem damage and environmental pollution. SDN 2 Cikalang, located in Tasikmalaya City, is one of the schools that has not yet implemented optimal plastic waste management. An Ecobrick outreach program was conducted to enhance the knowledge of fifth-grade students about plastic waste management through Ecobrick innovation. An Ecobrick is a plastic bottle filled tightly with plastic waste, which can be used as a construction material to replace bricks. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Ecobrick outreach program in increasing students' knowledge of plastic waste management. The research methods included pre-test, material delivery, hands-on practice, and post-test. The evaluation results showed a 45% increase in students' knowledge, with a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p value = 0.000). This indicates that a hands-on education approach is effective in improving students' understanding of plastic waste management through Ecobrick.

In education at schools, educators must also be able to provide innovation to their students so that they are more motivated to learn. To do this, educators can use digital technology to create different and still educational learning content, but there are several obstacles faced at SDN 1 Rejosari, namely the lack of a computer lab, resulting in insufficient implementation of technology in the curriculum. Thus, the goal of this community service is to introduce infographics and advertisements using the Canva application, aimed at enhancing the creativity of the students at SDN 1 Rejosari. This community service activity began with the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The results of the evaluation stage showed a percentage of 90 – 100% in understanding the introduction to the material presented, but in practice, only 65% was achieved. Therefore, further action is needed, specifically continuous training on infographic and advertisement design using Canva.

Abstract

Flexibility exercises (muscle stretching) are physical exercises that aim toimprove and develop some motor skills. Given the importance of musclestrength in the skill performance of discus throwing for people with disabilities, the longer the muscle, the greater the force it gives, which is directlyproportional to the distance achieved by the thrower. The ability of the muscle tostretch, which reaches half the length of the muscle, gives greater strength andspeed to the arms when performing. This comes through some exercises for thethrower's arm that contribute positively to this aspect. The aim of the study wasto identify the effect of muscle stretching exercises on the peripheral speed ofthe throwing arm and achievement in discus throwing for people withdisabilities in the F34 category sitting. The hypothesis of the research was thatthere were statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-tests inthe peripheral speed of the throwing arm and achievement in discus throwing forpeople with disabilities in the F34 category sitting, in favor of the post-test. Theresearcher used the experimental method using the single-group method, andmuscle stretching exercises were used for the throwing arm to increase its abilityto develop peripheral speed as well as achievement. The exercises continued for(6) weeks with (3) training units per week. After conducting the post-tests, theresearcher concluded:

Some common biosecurity applications are access control, animal movement control, cleanliness and sanitation, waste management, health monitoring and vaccination. This socialization activity was successfully attended by around 35 people in the program target area. Most breeders showed an increased understanding of the importance of implementing biosecurity after following the socialization. Farmers claim to be ready to implement biosecurity measures such as quarantining new livestock, managing livestock waste, and providing good sanitation in the livestock environment. Some farmers also asked for further assistance regarding more specific biosecurity implementation, such as how to properly vaccinate livestock. In this socialization, several biosecurity measures were emphasized to be applied to buffalo livestock, including: quarantine of new livestock, cleanliness of pens and the environment, prevention through vaccination, waste management, protection of workers and visitors.
