Abstract

Noir is a coffeeshop established since 2019 that didn't have well-known visual branding. By the time, Noir made some innovations and started to focus on developing B2B model business. The objective of this rebranding project was to create a new positive image which could deliver the message of Noir's to the audience. The methods used in this rebranding project were analysing the logo with the theory of David E Carter, SWOT matrix analysis, variable constant, and brainstorming. Therefore, the logo created could deliver the message of Noir's as B2B model business which was opened for doing professional partnership. Moreover, this project also designed the supported media that had a function to strengthen the visual image to introduce the product to the public.

Abstract

A map provides a corporate identity as a medium of information as well as a clear position on the tourist destination, thus making it easier for visitors to visit. Grand maerakaca design travel maps using the glass box method. The grand maerakaca isa cultural educational field. Grand maerakaca's grand maerakaca tourist map was prepared through preparation, incubation, ironing, and verification, which produced simple, modern design but did not eliminate the original element.

Abstract

Gestalt principles derived from Psychology have been adopted and applied to Visual Communication Design. They are visual perception perspectives seeing a series of individual elements as a whole. Therefore, the purpose of visual communication conveyed by the communicator will be perceived with the same meaning for the communicant. In this study, the logo of Salsabila educational institution was observed. The geometric elements in the logo were collected based on their proximity and similarity in shapes and colours. The logo was then investigated using qualitative research methods referring to the gestalt principles

Abstract

This study reviews the analysis of motion design on motion graphics media. The analysis was carried out on several motion graphic videos about the prevention of Covid 19 by the Indonesian Ministry of Health which were broadcast through the Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/KementerianKesehatanRI/videos). The analysis process was using a qualitative descriptive method. The fundamental animation motion design principles as developed by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston (1981) were used as references to identify, observe, and describe existing motion designs. The fundamental principles are limited to the Squash and Stretch principle, the Anticipation principle, the Follow Through and Overlapping Action principle, the Slow In and Slow Out principle, and the Timing principle. This research is based on the initial assumption, that the more natural the motion design used in motion graphic media, the more attractive and pleasing motion will appear.

Abstract

Photography as an objective representation of nature can serve as an illustration that describes the actual state of a natural tourist attraction. Gunungkidul has many stunning natural tourist destinations, one of which is the beach. However, the beauty of the beach is still dominated by taking pictures during the day. Natural atmosphere at night is still rarely found. In fact, nature tourism is facilitated with hotels and inns, the prices are affordable and many tourists enjoy the night atmosphere on the beach. This study offers a technique for taking pictures of Drini Beach Gunungkidul on a full moon night. Taking pictures using a Nikon D3 series DSLR Camera with a 24-85 mm nikkor lens. Obstacles in understanding rapidly changing situations, must be sensitive to the color of light, selection of ISO, aperture, shutter speed, color temperature, white balance, and determining the exposure value according to the situation at the location. Professional grade DSLR camera needed with fine grain at high ISO, experiment was carried out during full moon. This study aims to find the right formula for the technique of taking natural beach photos.

Abstract

This study aims to design a communication media with a pandemic theme at home in the form of a comic strip. This study uses Indonesian puppet characters as character visualizations. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. In this stage of the research process, there are stages of making a theoretical basis, data collection, brainstorming, storyboarding, rough sketches, line art, digitizing works. The purpose of making this comic strip is to urge the public, especially in Indonesia, to always stay at home and also comply with the existing health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

In 2019, the Semarang City Social Service noted that there were still many children who did not receive proper care, which led to many cases of child problems in the city of Semarang. The problem factors of the child come from the family environment or the closest people, with children as victims or as perpetrators. This study aims to understand the issues regarding good parenting, as a basis for the design of educational media for pre-school age care for parents to care for their children well. The research method used is a qualitative research method, with methods of collecting data on field observations, literature studies, and interviews. The analytical method used is framing analysis. This research resulted in the design of an illustrated book that uses a booklet format with the title "Let's Become Great Parents!". The design of illustrated parenting books for pre-school age children from the social aspect is a solution to convey messages to the target audience in the city of Semarang.

Abstract

Computer Graphics is one of the fundamental courses in the field of visual communication design. This course studies the technicalities of organizing visual communication media with the help of a computer. This research was conducted to review research related to computer graphics education during 2011-2021. The contribution of this research is as a basis for a different intellectual framework by identifying the productivity of publications and topics. For this reason, bibliometric techniques were used to analyze 645 documents published from 2011-2021 based on the Scopus database. The results of the Scopus data analysis revealed that from 2011 to 2021 the number of publications related to computer graphic education experienced a dynamic development trend.

Abstract

Almost every region in Indonesia has folklore, one of which is that of Ki Gede Sebayu, who is the founding figure of Tegal City. With the times, many young people are not familiar with these historical stories and the values of their struggle, therefore the design of the illustration book for the story of Ki Gede Sebayu, the founder of Tegal City, was made to preserve the historical story of Tegal City, Ki Gede Sebayu among the public, especially children. . Research for this design uses qualitative methods such as interviews, observation, literature studies, and surveys through questionnaires. The data analysis method used is 5W+1H. The resulting media are the main media of picture books and supporting media such as stickers, bookmarks, and pins.

Abstract

Digital photography to this day has been utilized for human needs. Houses and business stalls with various shapes and styles are evidence of human civilization in the fishing village of Drini Beach, Gunungkidul. This place is crowded with tourists day and night. During the day, it is difficult to get good photos in this place because the situation is disorganized and it looks crowded. This ultimately underlies this experimental-based research carried out at night. Taking pictures at night is a difficult thing to do due to the lack of available lighting. We will try to overcome this lack of lighting with a long exposure technique. Experiment-based research using an artificial LED flashlight as a fill light is used to create this fishing village. This technique is known as "painting with a light hand." After that, a conclusion was drawn from the experiment: re-shooting with the right technique and exposure duration
