Jurnal Pendidik Indonesia (JPI) adalah jurnal ilmiah yang mempublikasikan karya penelitian dan artikel ilmiah terkait dengan bidang pendidikan. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan wadah bagi para akademisi, peneliti, praktisi, dan pemerhati pendidikan untuk berbagi pengetahuan, pengalaman, serta hasil penelitian terkini. Fokus utama dari Jurnal Pendidik Indonesia mencakup, tetapi tidak terbatas pada, berbagai aspek pendidikan, termasuk: Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah: Meliputi penelitian dan artikel tentang kurikulum, metode mengajar, evaluasi pembelajaran, pendekatan inovatif dalam pembelajaran, pendidikan karakter, pengembangan kepribadian siswa, dan isu-isu terkini dalam pendidikan dasar dan menengah. Pendidikan Tinggi: Membahas berbagai topik terkait pendidikan tinggi, seperti kebijakan pendidikan tinggi, manajemen perguruan tinggi, pengajaran dan pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi, penilaian kualitas pendidikan tinggi, pendidikan vokasi, dan inovasi dalam pendidikan tinggi. Pendidikan Inklusif: Menyajikan penelitian dan artikel tentang pendidikan inklusif, pendidikan bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus, pendidikan inklusif di sekolah umum, dan strategi pendidikan untuk memastikan kesetaraan kesempatan bagi semua siswa. Teknologi Pendidikan: Meliputi penelitian tentang pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran, penggunaan media pembelajaran, e-learning, blended learning, pengembangan aplikasi dan platform pendidikan, serta analisis dampak teknologi dalam proses pendidikan. Pengembangan Profesi Guru: Menyajikan penelitian dan artikel terkait dengan pengembangan profesionalisme guru, pelatihan dan pengembangan kompetensi guru, penilaian kinerja guru, dan isu-isu terkini dalam pengembangan profesi guru. Kebijakan Pendidikan: Membahas kebijakan pendidikan, evaluasi kebijakan, analisis dampak kebijakan pendidikan, serta isu-isu kebijakan pendidikan di tingkat nasional dan lokal. Jurnal Pendidik Indonesia mengundang kontribusi artikel ilmiah berbasis penelitian empiris, tinjauan literatur, artikel konseptual, dan ulasan buku yang relevan dengan fokus dan lingkup di atas. Semua artikel yang dikirimkan akan melalui proses review oleh para pakar dalam bidang pendidikan guna memastikan kualitas dan keakuratan konten yang dipublikasikan.

Abstract

Low learning outcomes are indicated due to students' need for more understanding of concepts and their lack of self-confidence. The study aims to determine the combined contribution of the ability to comprehend concepts and self-confidence to the mathematics learning outcomes of 10th-grade students at SMK Plus Kemilau Bangsa Batam. The research design is correlational. The study population consists of a total of 82 students in the 10th grade at SMK Plus Kemilau Bangsa Batam. The sample for this study was taken using simple random sampling technique with the Slovin formula, resulting in 68 students. The instruments used were an essay test consisting of 8 questions and a questionnaire with 30 statements that have been validated and tested for reliability. The data analysis techniques employed were simple linear regression and multiple linear regression. The research findings indicate: (1) the ability to comprehend concepts contributes to mathematics learning outcomes with a coefficient of determination of 9.5%. (2) There is a contribution of self-confidence to mathematics learning outcomes with a coefficient of determination of 8.5%. (3) There is a combined contribution of the ability to comprehend concepts and self-confidence to mathematics learning outcomes with a coefficient of determination of 14.5%, and the regression equation is Y = 3.318 + 0.397X1 + 0.246X2.

Abstract

This study aims to design an electromagnetic train learning media based on a mini-laboratory and test the feasibility of this media in explaining the concept of magnetic electricity in the subtopic of electromagnetic induction. This research is an engineering study. The design of this device consists of three main components: a neodymium magnet 12x5 mm, a non-insulated enamel copper wire 1 mm, and a 1.2 V eneloop battery. The device's validity was assessed in terms of content, media, and device feasibility, which was evaluated by two lecturers, three teachers, and two colleagues using a questionnaire distribution technique. The data analysis technique used in this research is the descriptive analysis technique. Based on the questionnaire results from the experts, an average score of 88.46% was obtained for all assessment aspects, indicating a "very good" rating. Thus, the electromagnetic train media is suitable as a physics learning media to explain the concept of magnetic electricity based on a mini laboratory.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid guided discovery-based Student Activity Sheet (LAS) on circle material. Research and development (Research and Development) is the type of research used. The development procedure used in this research follows the 4-D development model, which is modified into 3-D, consisting of defining, designing and developing. The instrument used in this study was a validation questionnaire sheet. The validation questionnaire sheet consists of didactic, content, language, and display aspects. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the average of each aspect at this validation stage. Based on the validity test of the guided discovery-based LAS, which three validators have carried out with several revisions and improvements, the average score of the guided discovery-based LAS validation results is 3.36, with a very good category. So it can be concluded that LAS based on guided discovery is valid.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach influences the mathematical reasoning ability of 8th-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Ujungbatu. The research design used is a Quasi-Experiment with a Two Group Posttest Only design. The population in this study consists of the 8th-grade classes at SMP Negeri 5 Ujungbatu. Sampling was done using Random Sampling, selecting two classes as sample groups. Class VIII.1 was the experimental group, and Class VIII.3 was the control group. The instrument in this study is a test of mathematical reasoning ability given to the sample classes. The normality test, conducted using the Lilliefors test, showed that both Class VIII.1 and VIII.3 had non-normal distributions. Based on the hypothesis test using the Mann-Whitney test, the calculated value (t count) was 228, and the tabulated value (t table) was 87. This indicates that t count ≥ t tabel, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0). Therefore, it can be concluded that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach influences the mathematical reasoning ability of 8th-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Ujungbatu.

Abstract

This research aims to assess students' level of knowledge through their perception of using digital educational games in Science (IPA) learning. The type of research conducted is descriptive quantitative, and for this study, questionnaires and interviews were used as instruments to collect data. The data analysis technique applied is the Miles and Huberman Interactive Model. This research was conducted at one of the junior high schools in Pekanbaru, with 30 student subjects. The results of the study show that the majority of students know educational games. Most students agree that using educational games as a learning medium helps them understand the concept of the solar system in the Science subject. This finding provides a positive outlook on the potential of digital educational games as effective learning aids. This research offers new insights into students' perception of using educational games in Science learning.

Abstract

This research aims to explore students' perceptions at SMK Teladan Batam regarding mathematics education during the Covid-19 pandemic, focusing on the differences in individual learning styles. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with the research subjects consisting of 35 students from class XI TEI. Data analysis is conducted using the Miles Huberman method. The research instruments include a learning style questionnaire comprising 24 statements and a perception questionnaire comprising 20 statements. These instruments have been tested for validity and reliability (r = 0.733), and their results are reinforced through interviews. The obtained data are analyzed descriptively, with students' perceptions divided into three indicators: acceptance, understanding, and assessment, while learning styles are categorized into three parts: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The research findings indicate that out of the 35 students, 19 have a visual learning style with a highly positive category, with a percentage of acceptance at 71.93%, understanding at 78.29%, and assessment at 75.49%. 13 students have an auditory learning style, with a percentage of acceptance at 72.44%, understanding at 75.64%, and assessment at 72.36%. Meanwhile, three students have a kinesthetic learning style, with a percentage of acceptance in learning at 72.22%, understanding at 75%, and assessment at 78.13%, all of which fall under the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' numeracy skills. This type of research is qualitative descriptive, providing an in-depth depiction of students' numeracy skills as the primary focus, utilizing a qualitative approach based on collected data. The research subjects consist of 6 students from the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 1 Konawe, divided into three categories: high numeracy skills (2 subjects), moderate numeracy skills (2 subjects), and low numeracy skills (2 subjects). Subject selection was based on the previous Daily Test (UH) scores. Data collection techniques employed included tests and interviews. Students' numeracy skills are categorized into three levels: high numeracy skills, moderate numeracy skills, and low numeracy skills. These numeracy skills encompass three main aspects: the ability to solve multiplication operations, the ability to solve division operations, and the ability to connect multiplication and division operations. Subjects 1 (S1) and 2 (S2) in the high numeracy skills category successfully met all three aspects. In contrast, Subjects 3 (S3) and 4 (S4) in the moderate category, as well as Subjects 5 (S5) and 6 (S6) in the low category, have yet to achieve all these aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to observe students' knowledge of using Augmented Reality (AR)-based teaching modules in science education through their perceptions. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach, utilizing questionnaires and interviews as research instruments. Data analysis is conducted using the Interactive Model of Miles and Huberman. This research was conducted in one of the junior high schools in Pekanbaru, with 24 research subjects. This study's findings indicate that most students know about Augmented Reality (AR)-based teaching modules. Most students agree that using AR-based teaching modules as a learning medium assists them in understanding science materials. These findings indicate the positive potential of using AR technology in the context of science education. In the future, this technology integration can be further developed to enrich student's learning experiences and enhance their understanding of scientific concepts. These findings are expected to provide valuable insights for developing technology-based learning strategies in education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between learning interest and learning motivation with mathematical concept comprehension among 10th-grade students in MAN 2 Batam. The research method used is quantitative with a correlation approach. Data was collected through questionnaires and test questions, with a sample of 71 students selected using the Purposive Sampling technique. The study results show a significant relationship between learning interest and students' mathematical concept comprehension (contribution of 0.414). A significant relationship was also found between learning motivation and students' mathematical concept comprehension (contribution of 0.428). Furthermore, the study indicates a significant relationship between learning interest and motivation and students' mathematical concept comprehension (contribution of 0.432). From the findings of this study, learning interest and motivation play a crucial role in improving students' comprehension of mathematical concepts. Therefore, educators and teachers must pay attention to and encourage students' learning interests and motivation to enhance their understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid Student Activity Sheets (LAS) in mathematics based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) for prisms and pyramids. The research adopts a Research and Development approach consisting of three stages: defining (define), designing (design), and developing (develop). The instrument used in this study is a validation questionnaire. Through validity testing conducted with two validators and several revisions and improvements, the average score of the LAS validation results was 3.64, categorized as highly valid. Thus, the LAS developed with the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach in this study has a very good level of validity. This research contributes significantly to developing and improving mathematics learning in the classroom. CTL-based SAS for prisms and pyramids is expected to enhance students' interest and understanding of mathematical concepts contextually, enabling them to relate their learning to everyday life situations. Moreover, the LAS development method used in this study can also be adapted to produce CTL-based student worksheets for other mathematical topics.
