<![CDATA[This PkM activity was intended to increase knowledge and skills in managing inorganic waste at partner locations and their surroundings. That problem can be overcome by providing education, understanding the importance of sorting waste from home to public places, for example, at school, providing insight into the value that this waste still has from an economic perspective and providing training in skills to make recycled products from the collected waste. The method for this activity begins with observation at the location, preparation, and implementation in two extensive sessions, namely providing theoretical material and practical material for making recycled products. Participants were asked to fill out a questionnaire to assess their activity. The expected output is a product resulting from recycling plastic wrap waste and showing appreciation to participants for the best-recycled products. Coming from the description of the situation review, the PkM team concluded that there were several problems faced by Mitra, namely: Mitra is a place that has the potential to produce large amounts of inorganic waste because of the enormous of students, and it is located in a very dense residential area, very close together. Also, with the Cengkareng Big Market, efforts need to be made to manage waste, especially inorganic waste, by recycling inorganic waste into value-added products.]]>

<![CDATA[This Community Service aims to develop and implement solar-powered automatic fish-feeding tools to improve operational efficiency in fish farming. Using 10 WP solar panels is expected to reduce dependence on expensive and unstable conventional electrical energy, especially in areas with limited energy access. The method used in this activity was a direct trial at the Medan City Fish Seed and Cultivation Center, where several vital parameters were measured, such as tilt angle, azimuth angle, zenith angle, and time clock angle. The test results show that this device can operate effectively by utilizing solar energy optimally, especially when the sun's position is at the right angle. The efficiency of solar panels reaches a high level, allowing the battery to be charged in a relatively short time. The conclusion of this activity shows that this tool can help fish farmers automate feeding in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner while reducing operational costs. This technology has the potential to be applied more widely, providing a positive impact in increasing productivity and saving costs in fish farming businesses.]]>

<![CDATA[This community service activity discusses efficiently converting fuel energy for rice thresher machines by replacing it with 3kg melon gas fuel. For the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education for Lecturers of the DIII Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Harapan Bersama Polytechnic. Providing knowledge and skills about using 3 kg LPG gas to replace gasoline fuel in diesel rice thresher machines. Improving the quality of human resources, especially for farmers. As an implementation of the MOU between the DIII Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Harapan Bersama Polytechnic, Tegal and the local village. The process of implementing PKM activities begins with preparation in the form of a survey of farmer partners to find out what problems are faced by farmers and then find solutions to the problems; from the solutions obtained, it turns out that farmer partners need training on the efficiency of using rice threshers that use 3Kg melon LPG gas fuel, so it is planned to be arranged for an activity on training the use of 3 kg gas as a fuel as a substitute for gasoline. With the presence of a gas converter tool, which can change gasoline fuel into 3kg of gas fuel, people are very happy because it can help provide fuel efficiency for diesel rice threshing machines so that they are not wasteful.]]>

<![CDATA[The need for halal certification continues to increase with increasing consumer awareness of the consumption of halal goods, and the government requires that all products circulating in Indonesia have halal certification to ensure consumer safety and comfort. Self-declaring halal is one step to obtaining halal certification intended for MSMEs. Observation results show that many MSMEs in Jombatan Village do not understand the halal self-declaration certification process and do not know the added value of halal certification; for this reason, they are given training regarding halal certification, the method used in training is through 5 stages to know, to understand, to plan, to act, and to change. Through the training stages, it is known what the actual conditions are in Jombatan Village, then MSME actors are given knowledge about halal certification, and the service team coordinates to plan solutions to problems by providing training programs related to self-declared halal certification; after attending the training MSME actors understand more about the importance product halal certification.]]>

<![CDATA[Residential settlements in the Lancang Besar Island area of Kepulauan Seribu, apart from being used as residences, also function as micro-trading places. Seeing the high tourism potential in this area, this residence can be developed into a homestay for visiting tourists. The implementation methods and strategies applied in this activity include field observations followed by qualitative data analysis and residential design planning by adding homestay facilities. Several important things that need to be emphasized in the design of homestays originating from residents' homes in coastal areas include spatial organization, destruction, materials, vegetation, sanitation and elements of locality. The locality aspect of this design emphasizes several concepts, including local architecture, local materials, recycled materials, and local culture. Design planning needs to consider local architecture, as well as the spatial relationship formed between the rented space and the homeowner so that the existence of the homestay is able to provide a spatial and cultural experience for tourism visitors and also improve the quality of life of the homestay owner.]]>

<![CDATA[The Thousand Islands is an administrative district in Jakarta Province, comprising a cluster of islands accessible by regular ferry routes from Muara Angke and Marina Ancol. Lancang Besar Island, one of the inhabited islands, has been the site of community service initiatives by the Architecture Department of Mercu Buana University since 2021. The first and second phases of the project involved the development of public infrastructure, including playgrounds, teacher offices, and community halls, all managed autonomously by the Al Hijrah Foundation without charging any fees to students. In the 2024 academic year, the project will progress with the design of public restroom facilities to enhance the island's tourism potential. These facilities are intended to address the needs of visitors while contributing to the improvement of the island's environmental quality. This initiative is in line with the broader tourism development strategy for the Thousand Islands, aiming to stimulate the local economy through the creation of functional and aesthetically cohesive infrastructure.]]>

<![CDATA[The determinant of a teacher's learning success lies in the teaching process, which is able to attract student's interest so that they do not get bored quickly while learning by utilizing learning media. Misykat Al Anwar Integrated Islamic High School, in improving the quality of learning and teacher skills, held an agenda, namely The Great and Innovative Teacher Movement. These activities do not only focus on a teacher's abilities, especially game-based learning media, namely Kahoot! Kahoot is a game-based learning media that teachers can use in the teaching and learning process in class to create a more interactive atmosphere! The target of this community service activity is 23 teachers. This activity aims to improve teachers' skills in using the Kahoot application. The method of implementing this activity is in the form of lectures, discussions, practice, and assignments. The results of this service activity are as follows: (1) Teachers are familiar with the Kahoot application for creating online quizzes, and (2) teachers' skills in using the Kahoot application are improved.]]>

<![CDATA[This Community Service Program was conducted to introduce and implement hydroponic technology that utilizes waste from Nile tilapia farming as a source of organic fertilizer. This activity was located in Dolok Sagala Village, Dolok Masihul District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The method used in this PKM included training and direct mentoring of the community in creating and managing a hydroponic system for cultivating Brassica Rapa plants. This activity showed that the hydroponic system using fish waste as organic fertilizer produced high-quality Brassica Rapa plants. Additionally, this program provided the community with new knowledge about the benefits and potential of hydroponic technology as a modern agricultural solution in limited land areas. The success of this program is expected to be adopted more widely by the community to enhance local food security and economic welfare.]]>

<![CDATA[To increase palm oil production, special attention must be given to various factors that influence plant growth. One crucial step is ensuring optimal care for immature plants to improve their quality and yield. Unfortunately, many smallholder palm oil farmers face limited knowledge and resources to apply proper care practices. Therefore, targeted efforts are needed to help them understand the importance of palm oil plant care to sustain and enhance the profitability of this sector. In Bukit Cermin Hilir Village, Dolok Masihul District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, palm oil plant care uses two main techniques. The first technique is pruning, which involves removing fronds below the fruit bunches. This process facilitates pollination, increases the number of fresh fruit bunches, eases harvesting, and prevents excessive evaporation during the dry season. The second technique is circle clearing, which involves clearing a circular area around the palm tree with a radius of 0.6–1.5 meters to prevent weed growth that could disrupt the plants. Pruning is categorized into three types based on the plant’s age: initial pruning, production pruning, and maintenance pruning. The number of fronds left on each tree ranges from 28 to 54. These care practices optimize plant growth, simplify farm management, and contribute to producing higher-quality palm oil yields.]]>

<![CDATA[This community service project was conducted in Oi Mbo Village, Rasanae Timur District, Bima City. In this area, tofu dregs are primarily used as animal feed despite their potential to be processed into value-added food products. Rich in protein, fat, and water, tofu dregs have been limited to use as livestock feed, tempe gumbos ingredients, and crackers, with a minimal economic impact on the community. This activity aimed to train the community to process tofu dregs into Tofstick snacks with improved packaging and branding. The methods included preliminary surveys, program socialization, training, and evaluation. The results demonstrated that tofu dregs could be transformed into Tofstick snacks with broad market potential, providing economic value through innovation and creativity.]]>
