Abstract

This study aims to deeply understand the role of academics in building the capacity of sustainable societies through service practices based on social reflection and local values. The research approach uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological design, which focuses on the meaning of the subjective experiences of the academics and the communities involved. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation of service activities in several communities in South Sulawesi over a six-month period. The results of the thematic analysis show three main themes, namely the transformation of the role of academics from instructors to social partners, the integration of local wisdom as a basis for sustainability, and critical reflection on the impact and value of service. These findings confirm that the success of community service is not only determined by the existence of the program, but by the quality of social relations and the co-learning process  between academics and the community. This research provides a theoretical contribution to the development of the concept of academic citizenship as well as a practical contribution to strengthening university policies in encouraging participatory, reflective, and sustainable community service.

Learning outcomes are often a barrier to achieving learning goals. The use of various interesting media during the learning process can improve student learning outcomes. This study aims to find out the application of  Web-based  Emaze  learning media in grade XI of SMA Negeri 1 Montasik and to find out how much influence Web-based Emaze  learning media has on the learning outcomes of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Montasik. This study uses a quantitative approach with a type of pre-experimental design  research in the form of one group pretest posttest design where there is only one group. The population in this study is all grade XI students totaling 6 classes. The sample in this study is 25 students in class XI.3 with sampling using purposive sampling techniques. The data collection techniques used are observation, tests, and documentation. In the data analysis technique, the normality test, the homogeneity test, and the t-test differ from the two averages. The average score result before using Web-based  Emaze  media was 52.8 categorized as low and after being treated with a student's average score of 76 was categorized as high, this proves that there has been a significant change in student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the > test score or 12,889 > 1,714 at the significance level of α = 5% (0.05), it was rejected and accepted or there was a real (significant) influence on student learning outcomes before and after using Web-based  Emaze  learning media in History subjects. Thus, the use of Web-based  Emaze  learning media has an effect on the learning outcomes of History students in grade XI.3 at SMA Negeri 1 Montasik.

Abstract

The accelerated evolution of the digital economy in Indonesia underscores the limitations of the safe harbor model in intermediary liability regulations, which are presently reactive in nature. The prevailing legal framework, chiefly rooted in the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE Law) and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Regulation No. 5/2020, has a propensity to confer procedural immunity upon marketplace platforms by allocating the risk and the onus of proof to consumers and small traders, thereby engendering a state of structural injustice. The present study identifies the issue of how to reformulate the principle of intermediary liability so as to align with John Rawls' distributive justice, which emphasises active protection for the most vulnerable. Utilising the framework of normative legal research methodologies, a comprehensive examination was undertaken of the pertinent regulations, employing the critical lens of Rawls' theory of justice. The results of the study propose a transformation from a passive notice-and-takedown approach to a proactive model based on five principles: proportional duty of care, public transparency on moderation and algorithms, no-fault recovery mechanisms for risk redistribution, inclusive verification for micro-sellers, and independent audits to prevent algorithmic discrimination. The objective is to transform intermediary liability into a proactive instrument of justice, thereby ensuring that platforms play a role in maintaining a digital ecosystem that is both fair and safe for all.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies, widespread access to internet-connected devices, and the increasing presence of artificial intelligence have reshaped children’s learning experiences. In Indonesia, Satuan Pendidikan Kerja Sama schools adopting the Cambridge Primary Curriculum face challenges in integrating Christian Religious Education pedagogically and theologically while responding to the digital realities of Generation Alpha learners. As the first generation fully immersed in digitally mediated environments, these learners require faith education that connects biblical learning with digital literacy, ethical discernment, and responsible technology use. This study designs a Christian Religious Education curriculum model for Cambridge-based Satuan Pendidikan Kerja Sama primary schools in Indonesia aligned with Permendikbud Number 31 of 2014, Cambridge curriculum principles, and the developmental characteristics of Generation Alpha learners. Using a qualitative design-based research approach, the study integrates policy analysis, recent academic literature, and curriculum alignment principles to develop a coherent framework. The proposed curriculum integrates biblical literacy, Christian character formation, digital citizenship, and age-appropriate ethical reflection on artificial intelligence through inquiry-oriented pedagogy and authentic assessment. The model offers a policy-aligned, developmentally appropriate, and digitally responsive approach to faith formation in international school contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse how residential space along the Dupak Magersari railway line in Surabaya is produced through a dialectical process of discursive articulation that shapes the negotiation of spatial meaning. Using the frameworks of discursive hegemony (Laclau & Mouffe), spatial production (Lefebvre), and Thirdspace (Soja), this study positions space not merely as a physical entity, but as a field of contestation over definitions, legitimation, and regimes of truth. This qualitative research with a case study approach utilises observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of policy documents and media. Findings show that the dominant discourse of the state and corporations—which positions the railway border as an illegal, risky zone, devoid of residential function—is confronted by a counter-discourse that emphasises social legitimacy, sustainability of life, and the right to space. This contestation is mediated by formal local political actors, particularly the Regional Representative Council and the Surabaya City Government, which function as important nodes in discursive negotiations between the legal-administrative framework and citizens' demands for legitimacy. At the same time, the presence of communities, academics, and urban social networks expands the field of articulation, not as a centre of hegemony, but as a reality that enriches the discursive ecosystem of space. Through the formation of chains of equivalence, the discourse of "illegality" undergoes a dislocation of meaning and is contested by the narrative of "socially legitimate living space". This process produces a new nodal point that redefines the railway boundary not merely as an object of state control, but as a space whose meaning is negotiated. This contestation does not produce a final resolution between legal and illegal, but rather forms a Thirdspace—a hybrid space that lives in discursive tension and reconciliation. This study affirms that the dynamics of space at the railway boundary are a hegemonic battle over the meaning of space that transcends the technocratic framework of urban planning, and highlights the importance of discourse articulation in the production of contemporary urban space.

Abstract

The construction of Patimban International Port in Subang Regency has triggered a fundamental social transformation for coastal communities. This study aims to analyze the role of education as an instrument for adaptation and mitigation of marginalization amidst the conversion of maritime land into industrial areas. Using descriptive qualitative methods, the study explores the synergy between religious education (MDTA) and vocational training in maintaining a balance between modernity and local identity. The findings indicate that structured educational interventions are crucial in transforming the community profile from a traditional agrarian to a competent industrial workforce. Educated youth groups are found to have a strategic role as agents of change, facilitating communication between local values and global demands. The integration of the educational dimension into national development planning is a determining factor for the social sustainability of coastal communities.
