Abstract

The rapid evolution of digital technologies has fundamentally transformed how businesses engage with consumers, creating both opportunities and challenges in the pursuit of sustainable growth. In the current online era, digital marketing has emerged as a pivotal driver of brand visibility, customer engagement, and competitive advantage. This study adopts a qualitative, literature-based approach to explore the most effective digital marketing strategies employed by businesses across various industries to unlock growth in digital environments. Drawing from peer-reviewed journal articles, case studies, and strategic marketing frameworks published between 2015 and 2024, this research identifies key strategic pillars, including content marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, influencer collaboration, email marketing, and data-driven personalization. The study highlights how integrated digital strategies, when aligned with consumer behavior analytics and technological adoption, enhance customer retention, increase conversion rates, and optimize return on marketing investment (ROMI). Additionally, the review explores how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have leveraged cost-effective digital tools to compete with larger corporations in niche markets. Findings also indicate that the effectiveness of digital strategies varies significantly depending on factors such as industry type, target audience demographics, platform selection, and execution agility. This study offers a comprehensive synthesis of digital marketing best practices, while also identifying future research directions in the context of artificial intelligence and ethical data use. The research provides valuable insights for marketing professionals, strategists, and academics seeking to understand and optimize digital marketing efforts in the constantly evolving online marketplace.

Abstract

The Dutch colonial period in the archipelago witnessed various significant changes in aspects of government and economic policies, one of which was the implementation of the Forced Planting System in the early 19th century, which led to suffering for local farmers. In 1870, the Dutch government replaced this system with open-door politics, which opened up opportunities for private companies, including the Deli Company (Deli Maatschappij) founded in 1869. Deli Maatschappij, which began with tobacco plantations in East Sumatra, grew rapidly and became the dominant force in the international tobacco industry until the early 20th century. This article aims to examine the history of the establishment and development of Deli Maatschappij, as well as its impact on the lives of workers and the local community. This research uses historical research methods with heuristic, critical, interpretation, and historiographic stages. The results show that Deli Maatschappij not only drives economic development through infrastructure and industry, but also contributes to social and demographic change, including the influence on the labor system and social relations in the region. Despite negative impacts such as labor exploitation, the company has also made some progress, such as the development of transportation and education infrastructure that has survived to this day.

Abstract

Abstract

Developments in the line of business must be carried out in conjunction with a good marketing strategy. As the marketing strategy that has been employed has not been optimal, PT Kawasan Industri Nusantara (KINRA) aims to increase land sales in KEK (Special Economic Zone) Sei Mangkei. This descriptive research is conducted qualitatively, where some of the qualitative data obtained is subsequently converted into quantitative data using a measurement scale of weights and ratings commonly used in SWOT analysis. The research object is determined through observation, interviews to determine the issue related to the implemented marketing strategies, along with documentation and relevant literature to support the research problems. Furthermore, SWOT analysis is used in this research to improve and enhance the marketing strategy that has been done. The research concludes that the company still implements conservative marketing strategies and has not utilized digital marketing methods, such as billboard advertising and social media advertising, among others. The strategy suitable for establishing the competitive strategy of PT Kawasan Industri Nusantara (KINRA) is the stable growth strategy. This means that in the future developments, PT Kawasan Industri Nusantara (KINRA) can implement a Role Growth strategy, but it should be executed gradually based on a priority scale. To develop its marketing strategy, PT KINRA must take an important step, namely: in the short term, the company is required to recruit more marketing employees. In addition, the company also requires to develop a website as an effective promotional tool to introduce the company's services to public.

Abstract

Green Transit Oriented Development (Green TOD) is a planning concept that combines city development with a public transportation system to form an environmentally friendly and sustainable environment. Green TOD integrates TOD with the principles of green urbanism to provide more significant environmental benefits (Niu et al., 2021). Giri Adipura Bus ation, as a type A Station and a center for public transportation such as AKDP, AKAP, BRT buses, public transportation and border transportation, has not been fully utilized by local residents as the main transit point for daily commuters to Solo and its surroundings. The high use of private vehicles is still visible (author's observations within a 400 meter radius), but data shows an increase in public bus and BRT users since they started operating (August 2023) with an occupancy rate of 99.65% (Edi Purwanto, Solopos.com, July 2024). This research aims to assess the potential of Giri Adipura Station as a Green TOD area and identify gaps with ideal Green TOD standards. Using a qualitative deductive approach, the research examined an area of 115.19 hectares in Kaliancar Subdistrict and Singodutan Village, Wonogiri, with a focus on a 400 meter radius from the Station as the core TOD zone and an 800 meter radius as a secondary area. Based on theoretical studies, Giri Adipura Station has the potential to become a rural/neighborhood TOD, with the level of gap aspects and causal factors as follows: Density + Green aspect, gap: KDB (33.1%), KLB (12%), population density (22.29%), number of residential units (13.3%), green certificate (100%). Cause: Regional development is delayed because city growth is concentrated in the district center, the research area is still in the early stages (affected by Station relocation and increasing the status of the Giri Adipura Station). The low level of green elements is due to high costs, minimal education, and lack of regulations/incentives. (Concentric Zone Theory, Urban Growth Theory, Growth Pole Theory. Aspects of Design for Walkability + Green, gaps: Block length (32.9%), pedestrian lanes (75%), no bicycle lanes, shade trees (50%), green facilities such as green roofs/gardens (100%). Causes: Settlements are formed naturally without careful planning, narrow/uphill roads, heavy traffic, violations of road borders, (Urban Design and Walkability Theory. Aspects of Destination to Transit + Green, gaps: Transit access is good (0%), but greenways and bicycle parking are not available (100%). Cause: Lack of synergy between agencies and low public understanding of the importance of green lanes. Destination Accessibility + Green, gaps: Green open space connectivity (100%), destination accessibility (0%).
