Abstract

This study aims to analyze the evaluative culture among teachers at the Al-Washliyah 22 Tembung Private Islamic Senior High School (MAS) and describe the role of the principal in building an evaluative culture in learning. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of the principal, vice principal, and teachers. The results showed that the evaluative culture at MAS Al-Washliyah 22 Tembung has been implemented through academic supervision, evaluation meetings, and regular teacher coaching. The principal acts as a leader, mentor, motivator, and supervisor in supporting the implementation of learning evaluation. However, several obstacles were still found, such as teachers' understanding that evaluation is only an administrative activity, less than optimal follow-up of evaluation results, and low innovation in the implementation of learning evaluation. This study concludes that the success of an evaluative culture is not only influenced by the principal's policies, but also by teachers' awareness and commitment in making evaluation part of improving learning professionalism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using the YouTube podcast Podcastacular on students' learning interest at SMA Negeri 3 Semarang. The study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design in the form of a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The research subjects were 36 grade XII students selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through a Likert scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used a normality test to determine the distribution of the data, a paired sample t-test to test the difference in the average pretest and posttest scores on normally distributed data, and a Wilcoxon test as a nonparametric test to strengthen the results of the data difference test. The results showed that the data were normally distributed with a significance value > 0.05. The results of the paired sample t-test obtained a significance value of 0.019 (<0.05), while the Wilcoxon test obtained a significance value of 0.025 (<0.05), which indicated a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. However, descriptively, the average learning interest after treatment (29.16) was lower than before treatment (31.11). This finding indicates that podcast use influences students' learning interest, but has not yet provided optimal positive improvements.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the persistent gap between teachers' understanding of positive discipline and its implementation practices in schools, particularly regarding the use of punishment as a form of student behavior control. This study aims to analyze teachers' perceptions and practices of positive discipline and develop a conceptual model of its implementation in the context of island educational administration. The study used a mixed methods approach with a sequential exploratory design involving 42 teachers from various levels of education in Central Maluku Regency. Data were collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Quantitative data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics to determine trends in teachers' perceptions and practices, while qualitative data were analyzed through thematic analysis. The results showed that all teachers had a positive view of non-violent discipline, but approximately 71% of respondents still used punishment as a solution to student behavior. This finding indicates that the conceptual understanding of positive discipline has not been fully internalized in pedagogical practice. This study resulted in the Positive Discipline Framework for Educational Administration (PDFEA) as a conceptual model that emphasizes the importance of teachers' reflective capacity, empathetic communication, and institutional support in building a restorative and humanistic school culture.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing disciplinary values through school culture and its impact on student character formation at MTsN 2 Mandailing Natal. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, and students, and documentation. The data analysis technique used the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which was carried out continuously through the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions. In the data condensation stage, the researcher selected, focused, and grouped data according to the research theme. Next, the data were presented in the form of descriptive narratives to make the relationships between findings easier to understand. The final stage was carried out through drawing and verifying conclusions to ensure the consistency and validity of the data based on the results of observations, interviews, and documentation. The research findings indicate that internalization of disciplinary values is carried out through habituation, teacher role models, and reinforcement through a system of rewards and sanctions. A consistent school culture has been proven to be able to shape the character of students who are more disciplined, responsible, independent, and have prosocial behavior in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the shaping method in reducing maladaptive behavior in children with ADHD at Pisang 12 Public Elementary School. The study used an experimental approach with the Single Subject Research (SSR) method with a reversal design (A1–B–A2), which consisted of an initial baseline phase (A1), an intervention phase (B), and a second baseline phase (A2). The subject of the study was a child with ADHD who exhibited maladaptive behaviors such as disturbing friends, shouting, throwing objects, and difficulty sitting still in class. Data were collected through direct observation using a frequency recording sheet of target behaviors during the learning process. Data analysis was carried out visually within and between conditions, including directional trends, data stability, level changes, and percentage overlap. The results showed that in the initial baseline condition (A1), the frequency of maladaptive behavior was at 10 events with a horizontal trend. After being given intervention using the shaping method in the intervention phase (B), the frequency of maladaptive behavior decreased to 4–6 events with a downward trend. In the second baseline condition (A2), the frequency of maladaptive behavior remained at a lower level, namely 3–4 events. The overlap between conditions A1 and B was 0%, while between conditions B and A2 it was 33.3%. These results indicate that the shaping method is effective in reducing maladaptive behavior in children with ADHD.
