Abstract

Learning in the pesantren environment plays a strategic role in developing female students’ competencies through the internalization of Islamic values and local wisdom rooted in pesantren traditions. Pesantren local wisdom, which grows from long-standing traditions, cultural practices, and distinctive educational activities, constitutes an important potential for the development of contextual and meaningful learning. This study aims to describe the development of learning based on pesantren local wisdom in enhancing the competencies of female students at Hidayatul Mubtadiin Islamic Boarding School, Sidoharjo Village, Jati Agung District, South Lampung Regency, in the 2025/2026 academic year. This research employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the pesantren leader, female teachers (ustadzah), and female students as research informants. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the development of learning based on pesantren local wisdom is implemented through the integration of pesantren traditions, role modeling by ustadzah, habituation of worship practices, and various pesantren activities oriented toward the formation of religious, social, and practical competencies of female students. This learning development has a positive impact on improving discipline, independence, moral character, and active participation of female students in both the learning process and daily life within the pesantren.

Abstract

The tradition of writing and teaching Islamic texts in pesantren is a key pillar in preserving Islamic scholarship and manuscript heritage in Indonesia, particularly in West Java. Using a descriptive-analytical method based on library research, this study examines how the practices of ngalogat, the characteristics of kitab kuning (classical Islamic texts), and the main teaching systems contribute to the continuity of texts and scholarly authority within pesantren communities. The findings indicate that ngalogat and the use of the Arab Pegon script not only facilitate students’ understanding of classical Arabic texts but also document the localization of knowledge through interlinear translation and glosses in Sundanese. The textual structure of matan, syarah, hasyiyah, and tukilan forms an interconnected network that underpins the intellectual formation of students, while teaching methods such as sorogan, bandongan, halaqah, and mudzakarah function as mechanisms for both text preservation and authoritative transmission of Islamic knowledge across generations. Nevertheless, the preservation of pesantren manuscripts faces serious challenges, including physical deterioration, limited conservation expertise, and a shifting learning orientation toward digital media. Contemporary efforts such as digitization, raising awareness of manuscript care, and reinforcing classical learning methods are therefore crucial to ensure that kitab kuning and pesantren manuscripts remain preserved, relevant, and accessible for future generations of students.

Abstract

Ukhuwah Islamiyah is a fundamental value in Islamic teachings that plays a crucial role in maintaining unity, harmony, and social stability among Muslims. However, contemporary dynamics such as globalization, identity politics, and the rapid development of digital media pose serious challenges to the strengthening of Muslim brotherhood. This study aims to examine the concept of Ukhuwah Islamiyah, its role in Islamic education, and its relevance in contemporary Muslim social life. This research employs a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach by analyzing books, scholarly journal articles, and academic documents published from 2015 onwards that are relevant to the research theme. The findings indicate that Ukhuwah Islamiyah is understood as a faith-based bond of brotherhood that generates moral responsibility, social solidarity, and internal tolerance among Muslims. Islamic education plays a strategic role in internalizing the values of ukhuwah through curriculum development, institutional culture, and educators’ role modeling. Furthermore, strengthening Ukhuwah Islamiyah requires support from a moderate religious approach and Islamic value-based digital literacy. This study concludes that Ukhuwah Islamiyah remains highly relevant and needs to be developed systematically and contextually as an effort to strengthen harmony and unity among Muslims in the modern era.

Abstract

This article examines the systematization of the writing of the Qur’an by analyzing the processes of revelation recording, manuscript compilation, and the standardization of the consonantal text in relation to the stability of the Qur’anic text. The study aims to reconstruct the mechanisms of transmission, verification, and canonization of the Qur’an by integrating classical Islamic accounts with contemporary philological and manuscript studies. This research employs a historical and philological approach through the analysis of classical sources on Qur’anic sciences combined with evidence from early Qur’anic manuscripts and modern paleographic studies. The findings indicate that the systematization of the Qur’an developed through a layered process involving oral and written traditions simultaneously, rather than a single act driven by political motives alone. The standardization of the manuscript during the caliphate of Uthman ibn Affan played a crucial role in maintaining the consistency of the consonantal text and textual structure. This discussion confirms that the stability of the Qur’anic text from the early period to the present is the result of a controlled and verified codification process.

Abstract

This study employs a qualitative research design with a descriptive approach involving three respondents.Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data sourcesconsisted of religious and community leaders, village imams, and the primary data sources, namelyindividuals involved in marriages due to premarital pregnancy. Data analysis was conducted in three stages:data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. This study aims to analyze the role of marriagecounselors at the Office of Religious Affairs (Kantor Urusan Agama/KUA) in reducing the number ofmarriages resulting from premarital pregnancy in Bajeng District during the 2022–2023 period. Premaritalpregnancy represents a significant social challenge that affects social order and the dignity of the institutionof marriage. In this context, KUA counselors function as agents of religious education and guidance throughpremarital counseling, youth outreach programs, and family consultation services.The findings indicate that KUA counselors in Bajeng District have actively contributed to preventingmarriages resulting from premarital pregnancy through various guidance and counseling activities.However, the effectiveness of these efforts remains constrained by several factors, including the limitednumber of counselors, low community participation in counseling programs, and the strong influence ofpermissive cultural attitudes toward free social interaction. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Aqidah Akhlak teachers’ personality competence in instilling moral values (akhlakul karimah) among students in the era of Society 5.0 at Madrasah Aliyah Hidayatul Mubtadiin Jati Agung in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Aqidah Akhlak teachers, the head of the madrasah, and students, while the object of the study focused on teachers’ personality competence and its role in character building. The findings reveal that teachers’ personality competence plays a crucial role in shaping students’ moral character through exemplary behavior, humanistic communication, and the internalization of Islamic values. In addition, Aqidah Akhlak teachers act as moral guides in the use of digital technology, directing students to utilize technology wisely and responsibly in the Society 5.0 era. This study concludes that teachers’ personality competence is a fundamental element in fostering akhlakul karimah and developing students who are morally upright, faithful, and adaptable to technological and social changes.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of khilafiyah (juristic disagreement) and the comparison of Islamic legal schools (madhhab) as well as their implications for Muslim religious life. Khilafiyah is understood as differences of opinion among mujtahid scholars in determining Islamic legal rulings on issues that lack definitive textual evidence, allowing diverse methodological approaches in ijtihad. This research employs a library research method by analyzing classical and contemporary literature on fiqh and ushul al-fiqh. The findings indicate that khilafiyah has been an integral part of Islamic scholarly tradition since the era of the Prophet’s companions and later developed through various schools of Islamic law. The main principles in addressing khilafiyah include recognizing the relative nature of ijtihad, upholding ethical conduct and tolerance in disagreement, and prioritizing public interest (maslahah). Furthermore, differences among legal schools in matters of worship and social transactions demonstrate the flexibility and dynamism of Islamic law. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of khilafiyah and madhhab comparison is essential for fostering a moderate, tolerant, and wise religious attitude among Muslims.
