Abstract

The success of curriculum change is inseparable from the leadership of the qualified principal. One of the principal leadership models that is in accordance with the MBS program is the transformational leadership style. This study aims to determine the influence of the principal's transformational leadership on the success of curriculum change at the MA Plus Taruna Teknik Al Jabbar school. The formulation of the research problem is whether there is an influence of the principal's transformational leadership on the success of curriculum change at the MA Taruna Teknik Al Jabbar school. This study was conducted using a quantitative approach. The population of this study was all teachers at the MA Plus Taruna Teknik Al Jabbar school, totaling 30 people. The sample was selected using Area sampling and Simple random sampling techniques, totaling 28 teachers. Data were collected through a Likert scale model questionnaire with validity and reliability having been tested. Data analysis used correlation and regression techniques with the help of the SPSS version 22 program. The results of the study showed that the transformational leadership of the madrasah principal influenced the success of curriculum change at the MA Plus Taruna Teknik Al Jabbar school.

Abstract

The Hadith's status as the second primary source of Islamic law continues to face intellectual scrutiny, with debates focusing on its authenticity and contemporary relevance. Prevailing scholarship often treats the rational (‘aqli) and theological (naqli) bases of Hadith authority separately from its practical legal applications, resulting in a fragmented understanding. This study bridges that divide by conducting an integrated analysis of Hadith’s foundational principles and its operational functions within Islamic legal theory. A qualitative, library-based methodology is employed, utilizing primary sources (the Qur’an and Hadith) and secondary academic literature, with data analyzed thematically following the Miles and Huberman framework. Results demonstrate that Hadith’s authority is firmly supported by rational foundations, serving as an indispensable explanatory (bayan) mechanism for the Qur’an, reinforced by prophetic faith, scholarly consensus (ijma‘), the doctrine of prophetic infallibility (‘ismah), and the Prophet’s exemplary conduct (uswah hasanah). Theologically, its position is definitive (qath‘i), derived from explicit Qur’anic mandates for obedience to the Messenger and Prophetic declarations that establish the Sunnah’s complementary authority. The study further identifies six core legal functions through which Hadith operates: affirmation (taqrir), elaboration (tafsīl), restriction (taqyīd), specification (takhsīs), independent legislation (tasyrī‘), and abrogation (naskh). This research concludes that Hadith transcends a purely formal legal source, functioning instead as a dynamic hermeneutical instrument that sustains the relevance, justice, and adaptability of Islamic law across time.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep pendidikan Islam dalam perspektif paradigma Islam wasathiyah, ummatan wasathan, toleransi, dan moderasi beragama, serta mengkaji implementasinya dalam konteks pendidikan Islam kontemporer. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research), melalui analisis terhadap berbagai sumber primer dan sekunder berupa Al-Qur’an, hadis, buku, dan jurnal ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk karakter peserta didik yang moderat, inklusif, dan berkeadaban melalui internalisasi nilai-nilai keseimbangan (tawazun), keadilan (i’tidal), dan toleransi (tasamuh). Konsep ummatan wasathan menjadi landasan normatif dalam membangun identitas umat yang adil dan menjadi teladan dalam kehidupan sosial. Implementasi nilainilai tersebut dilakukan melalui integrasi dalam kurikulum, proses pembelajaran yang dialogis, serta pembentukan budaya pendidikan yang inklusif. Namun, terdapat berbagai tantangan dalam implementasinya, seperti pendekatan pembelajaran yang masih tekstual, rendahnya literasi keagamaan, serta pengaruh media digital yang berpotensi menyebarkan paham ekstrem. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penguatan kurikulum, peningkatan kompetensi pendidik, serta sinergi antara lembaga pendidikan, pemerintah, dan masyarakat dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama secara berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, pendidikan Islam diharapkan mampu melahirkan generasi ummatan wasathan yang tidak hanya unggul secara intelektual, tetapi juga matang secara spiritual dan sosial dalam mewujudkan kehidupan yang harmonis dan berkeadaban.

Abstract

Transformasi dakwah di era digital mengubah pola penyebaran ajaran Islam melalui media sosial dan platform berbasis algoritma. Perubahan ini memunculkan tantangan berupa pergeseran otoritas keagamaan, penyederhanaan ajaran, dan polarisasi narasi keagamaan di ruang digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan merumuskan paradigma dakwah digital moderatif yang mengintegrasikan ekologi media, algoritma digital, dan Pendidikan Agama Islam. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan melalui analisis isi dan analisis tematik terhadap berbagai literatur akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media digital dan algoritma berpengaruh besar dalam membentuk wacana serta pemahaman keagamaan masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, Pendidikan Agama Islam perlu menghadirkan dakwah yang edukatif, adaptif, dan moderatif guna membangun pemahaman Islam yang inklusif, toleran, dan kontekstual di era digital.

Abstract

This article critically examines Islamic ecotheology as a transformative paradigm for reconstructing the epistemology of environmental science and accelerating the adoption of green technology. The twenty-first century ecological crisis—marked by anthropogenic climate change, mass biodiversity extinction, and systemic ecosystem degradation—cannot be reduced to mere technical failures; rather, it is rooted in an epistemological and spiritual crisis emanating from a materialistic-secular worldview. Islam, as a holistic theological system, proffers an ecotheological paradigm anchored in four ontological pillars: tawhid (divine oneness reflected in the unity of creation), khalifah (mandate of creaturely stewardship), amanah (divinely entrusted ecological responsibility), and mizan (cosmic balance that must be preserved). Employing an integrative-interconnective methodology with critical analysis of classical Islamic normative texts, the epistemology of historical Islamic science, and contemporary scientific literature on ecology and green technology, this study finds that: (1) Islamic ecotheology provides a more robust moral-spiritual foundation than secular environmentalism by anchoring ecological ethics in the transcendent; (2) the Islamic scientific tradition historically demonstrates an integrative model of scientific inquiry and ethical accountability relevant to contemporary ecological crises; (3) green technology is not merely compatible with but normatively mandated by the maqasid al-shari'ah; and (4) Islamic Religious Education requires a paradigmatic reorientation to incorporate the ecotheological dimension as an integral component of rahmatan muslim character formation. This article contributes to the development of Islamic ecotheology as an autonomous academic discipline with implications for educational and environmental policy in Indonesia

Abstract

Intolerance, radicalism, and terrorism are serious threats to religious and national life in Indonesia. Islamic education plays a strategic role in preventing and countering these phenomena. This article examines strategies to prevent intolerance, radicalism, and terrorism through three integrative approaches: (1) the approach of Allah’s feminine attributes (al-Asma’ al-Husna), emphasizing compassion, gentleness, and mercy; (2) the local wisdom approach, highlighting Indonesian cultural values as an ideological safeguard; and (3) the political will approach, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening the role of Islamic educational institutions. This study employs library research using a qualitative-descriptive approach. The findings reveal that these three approaches synergistically contribute to shaping students with moderate, tolerant, and peace-loving characters, thereby protecting them from radical ideologies and acts of terrorism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of Banjar women’s religiosity through majelis taklim in South Kalimantan and to identify the forms, factors, and impacts of these religious transformations on women’s social and spiritual lives. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of women’s religious experiences within the Banjar cultural context. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of activities conducted in several majelis taklim in South Kalimantan. Data analysis was carried out thematically through transcription, coding, categorization, and interpretation processes. The findings reveal that majelis taklim functions as a space for religious transformation that contributes to the improvement of worship practices, changes in social behavior, more polite communication patterns, the adoption of religious clothing, and the strengthening of spiritual awareness among Banjar women. These transformations are influenced by religious social environments, family support, religious leaders, majelis taklim communities, digital da’wah media, and personal spiritual needs. This study also finds that majelis taklim contributes to strengthening social solidarity, family education, women’s participation in socio-religious activities, and the formation of Islamic identity among Banjar women within the framework of local culture. The novelty of this study lies in its analysis of the relationship between majelis taklim, Banjar culture, and the reinforcement of local Muslim women’s religious identity in contemporary South Kalimantan society.

Abstract

Teacher standards and competencies are crucial aspects in improving the quality of education, particularly in responding to the demands of an outcome-based curriculum (Outcome-Based Education/OBE) that emphasizes measurable and relevant learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the strengthening of teacher standards in formulating and implementing an outcome-based curriculum. This research employs a qualitative approach through a literature study by utilizing secondary data from books and journals analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that strengthening teacher standards is a key factor in the successful formulation of an outcome-based curriculum, as teachers play a strategic role in determining learning outcomes, developing instructional strategies, and designing aligned assessment systems. Integrated teacher competencies enable the realization of a curriculum that is not only material-oriented but also focused on students' actual abilities. Therefore, the continuous improvement of teacher standards and competencies becomes an essential step in producing a curriculum that is effective, adaptive, and oriented toward learning outcomes.

Abstract

The digital era has transformed mental health practices, positioning social media as the primary platform where millennials and Gen Z seek emotional support through self-healing trends. However, this trend often reduces the profound concept of inner healing to a form of instant, recreational, and consumptive activity. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, this study aims to: map the semantic shift from the Islamic concept of tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul) to the digital self-healing trend, analyze the factors driving this conceptual reduction, and propose a reconstructive perspective grounded in tazkiyatun nafs. Data were collected through documentary study of primary and secondary literature and analyzed inductively. The findings reveal that social media frames self-healing as a performative public display, which obscures its essence as a transformative process of introspection and spiritual purification. This shift leads to negative consequences, including superficial relief, spiritual fragility, and a dependence on external validation. As a solution, this study recommends integrating the principles of tazkiyatun nafs specifically the stages of takhalli (emptying vices), tahalli (cultivating virtues), and tajalli (divine illumination), along with practices like muhasabah (self-accounting) and muraqabah (self-awareness) into contemporary digital mental health frameworks. Consequently, this research contributes to restoring depth to the concept of healing by synthesizing Islamic spiritual wisdom with the challenges of mental health in the digital age.
