JIPI (Jurnal IPA dan Pembelajaran IPA) aims to serve original articles on the latest issues and trends in high-quality research focused on technology-integrated science and/or science learning (chemistry, biology, physics, and environment). Technology integration includes learning media, curriculum, assessment processes and science learning outcomes, as well as the application of the latest technology in pure science research. The editors welcome submissions of papers on recent theoretical and experimental research related to: Results of theoretical and empirical research studies on science learning with integrated technology. We invite manuscripts that investigate science learning with the integration of web-based technology, Android, Arduino, nanotechnology, virtual labs, technological and pedagogical content knowledge research, STEM and/or STEAM, sociological issues, virtual reality, augmented reality, and other relevant issues. relevant to science learning. The results of research on the application of science learning media which focuses on studies related to the latest trends in the use of technology-based science learning media at all levels of education and in society. The results of research related to the implementation of the science learning curriculum (chemistry, biology and physics) have contributed to developing the latest trends in the implementation of the science learning curriculum with the integration of technology at all levels of education including science learning design, competency analysis and syllabus. The results of research related to the assessment of science learning processes and outcomes contribute to developing the latest trends in technology-integrated science learning assessment at all levels of education. The results of research related to science teacher education include original theoretical and empirical studies, including professional preparation of teachers, implementation of their work, and/or career development based on the latest technology. Research results related to technology-based science learning in everyday life outside the formal classroom. Papers should examine experiences in environments such as the community, home, internet, museums, and other aspects that develop interest, knowledge, and/or application of science. Science learning that emphasizes attention to aspects of problems and factors related to equality. Research results related to pure science research that is currently trending (chemistry, physics, biology and the environment).

Abstract

The Hubei Province of Wuhan, China, is the starting point for the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 which causes the Covid-19 virus to spread globally to Indonesia. The World Health Organization says that the Covid-19 virus can spread quickly and its effects span all aspects. The impact and prevention efforts in Indonesia require that all activities from studying, working and worshiping be carried out at home. The government urges the public to do social distancing, which means no crowd of 5 people is allowed. The impact on education requires learning without face to face so that in responding to this the teacher is advised to use distance learning. Renewal of distance learning can take advantage of cyber systems. One of the uses of cyber systems is the powtoon media. Powtoon media can develop 21th century skills, namely the ability to represent and learn without time and space boundaries. This study aims to develop powtoon-based learning media in improving the ability of science representation. Stages of developing media 1) preliminary study, 2) development stages, and 3) product testing. Sampling using random sampling techniques and cluster random sampling. Data were collected by direct observation, questionnaires, and multiple choice ability tests (pre-test and post-test). Then the analysis technique uses validity, practicality, and effectiveness which are described descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of the development of data processing the validity of the material and media, the average value was 88.00 and 91.00 while the practicality average value was 88.00 then the effectiveness in the experimental class was 61.38 while the control class was 48.20. Based on the results of this analysis, it can be seen that the powtoon media is feasible to be implemented, helps facilitate understanding and increases the representation ability of students

Abstract

 Climate change is a global challenge that threatens the world today. Efforts to deal with the problem of climate change are inseparable from the extent to which individuals understand the issue of climate change. The purpose of this study was to determine the understanding of pre-service science teachers at Sriwijaya University on the issue of climate change. Data obtained through questionnaires and interviews. Data were analyzed qualitatively. The subjects of this study were 24 final semester students consisting of Physics Education, Biology Education and Chemistry Education study programs. The results showed that 1) pre-service science teachers (students) still did not explore and understand the issue of climate change where 75% of the responses of pre-service teacher students thought it was important to find solutions and understandings to overcome climate change; 2) students assume that climate change is a simple problem, this is shown from student response data, namely 59% know that increasing greenhouse gases can cause climate change. In addition, the difficulties that students experience in reducing the impact of climate change stem from behaviors that are often carried out by students in daily life such as being difficult to save electrical energy, difficult to dispose of waste according to its type. Students' understanding of climate change issues is still lacking and there needs to be awareness within each of them in order to encourage them to take climate change mitigation actions

Abstract

Abstrak. Kemajuan Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi di abad 21 mengakibatkan terjadi pergeseran paradigma belajar yang tidak mengenal ruang dan waktu, sehingga kemampuan literasi digital, literasi sains, literasi bahasa, dan literasi matematika sangat perlu untuk dikembangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan literasi Mahasiswa Calon Guru Fisika Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Samudra. Metode Penelitian menggunakan metode pre-experimental design, dengan desain one group pretest-posttest design. Lokasi Penelitian pada mahasiswa angkatan 2016 sebanyak 22 orang. Tes kemampuan literasi sain berbentuk pilihan ganda dengan empat alternatif pilihan jawaban. Teknik pengolahan data menggunakan rumus N-gain yang ter normalisasi, dan uji t berpasangan (Paired Sampel t-Test) menggunakan SPSS versi 23. Hasil analisis data N-Gain menunjukkan kemampuan literasi sain pada setiap domain dan aspek kemampuan literasi sain sebesar 0,71 dan 0,76 dengan kategori tinggi pada materi listrik dinamis. Hasil ini diperkuat oleh hasil uji t berpasangan (sig.0.000.05) dapat disimpulkan model pembelajaran inkuiri berbasis virtual laboratory secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains mahasiswa calon guru fisika pada materi listrik dinamis.Kata Kunci: Literasi Sain, Model  Inkuiri, Virtual Laboratory, Listrik Dinamis Abstract. The advancement of Science and Technology within the 21st century has led to a shift of learning paradigm, which is no more influenced by space and time; so that the ability of digital literacy, science literacy, language literacy, and mathematical literacy is highly required to be developed. The purpose of this study was to find out the improvement of students’ literacy ability at Physics Education, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Samudra University. The research method used in this research was pre-experimental design method, with one group pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted in the Physics class; and there were 22 students taking part within this study. A multiple-choice test, with four alternative answers, was applied in order to find out students’ literacy ability. The data were analyzed through N-gain formula, and paired t-test using SPSS, version 23. The result of N-Gain data analysis revealed that the scientific literacy ability in each domain and the aspect of the science literacy ability is 0.71 and 0.76 with high category in dynamic electrical material. This result is reinforced by paired t test result (sig.0.00 0.05), which can be concluded that inquiry model based on virtual laboratory can significantly improve students’ science literacy ability, considered as Physics teacher candidate, especially in dynamic electrical material.Keywords: Science Literacy, Inquiry Model, Virtual Laboratory, Dynamic Electricity

Abstract

In 21st century is known for its rapidly developing technology, knowledge, and skills. In 21st century education demands the creation of quality human resources. The government's effort in handling case 21st used the application of the 2013 curriculum. One of the goals of the 2013 curriculum is to improve student learning outcomes. Improving learning outcomes can be done by using learning resources form of worksheets. Currently, a lot of research is being done on the effect of student worksheets on student learning outcomes. Some studies have different results, so the results of these studies need to use the journal review method with effect size analysis. Thus the purpose of this study was to determine and compare the influence of worksheets on learning outcomes. The data technique in this research is documentation technique. The analysis technique used is quantitative analysis for value and qualitative analysis for analyzing research data. In this study uses 20 journals consisting of 6 international journals and 14 national journals. From the journal, the moderator variables are obtained, namely the level of education, subject matter, and learning models. From the results of the journal analysis of learning outcomes based on the level of education, it was found that the effect size of SMP 1.30 and SMA was 0.90. Based on the classification of science material the effect size is 1.29 and physics is 0.96. Based on the learning model, the effect size is 1.23. The conclusion is that the use of worksheets can improve student learning outcomes in science and physics learning.

Abstract

Students' lack of independent learning results in low learning outcomes. This study is intended to determine the relationship between learning independence and chemistry learning outcomes for students in class X MIPA SMA Negeri 6 Pontianak. The subjects of this study were students in class X MIPA for the 2021/2022 academic year, totalling 130 persons. The research methodology used for this research is described using a correlational approach. The results of the chemistry studies are derived from the results of the final examination for the same semester 2021/2022. The data collection technique used is indirect communication in the form of questionnaires and literature reviews in the form of student learning results in chemistry subjects. The results showed that the average percentage of learning independence was 65% which were included in the medium category, while the average learning outcome was 62 which was included in the low category. The results of the Spearman rank test between learning independence and chemistry learning outcomes obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.079 which means that there is a positive, but very low relationship between learning independence variables and learning outcomes, the significance value obtained is 0.372 0.05, which means that there is no significant relationship significant relationship between independent learning with chemistry learning outcomes

Abstract

Pembentukan keterampilan dan sikap positif merupakan bagian dari proses sains untuk mencapai produk sains yang sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013. Habits of mind (HoM) merupakan kemampuan siswa untuk mengontrol perilaku positif agar memiliki rasa percaya diri dalam memecahkan masalahnya dengan cara yang produktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik dalam meningkatkan HoM siswa pada aspek regulasi diri, berpikir kritis dan berpikir kreatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 di Kota Langsa Provinsi Aceh kelas XI IPA 1 semester genap tahun ajaran 2018/2019 dengan teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 31 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah rubrik HoM dan angket respon siswa yang kemudian dianalisis dengan uji regresi menggunakan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan model pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik memiliki tingkatan capaian HoM yang berbeda-beda. Pada model problem based learning (PBL) dan discovery based learning (DBL) memiliki nilai N-gain tertinggi terhadap pembentukan HoM dibandingkan model pembelajaran inquiry based learning (IBL), dan project based learning (PjBL). Respon siswa setelah penerapan model pembelajaran saintifik terhadap pembentukan HoM sangat baik, hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan persentase sebesar 95,98%. Model pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik yaitu PBL, IBL, DBL, dan PjBL memberikan pengaruh yang kuat dan signifikan terhadap pembentukan HoM yaitu sebesar 0,808 atau 80% berdasarkan data R square yang telah diujikan.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui peningkatan berpikir kritis siswa dan peningkatan minat belajarnya melalui pengembangan LKS berbasis masalah pada materi fluida statis. Penelitian ini mengunakan pendekatan penelitian research and development (RD). Pengembangan dilakukan dengan mengacu pada model 4-D dengan tahapan definition, design, development, dan dissemination. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode quasi experimental melalui the matching-only pretest-posttest control group design. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yaitu kelas X-MIPA1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan dengan LKS berbasis masalah dan X-MIPA2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pretest, posttest dan N-gain untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa, lembar observasi untuk mengetahui ketrampilan berpikir kritis siswa dan angket untuk mengetahui minat siswa. Hasil uji N-gain kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 0,7 (70%) berada dalam kategori “tinggi”, sedangkan kelas kontrol mengalami peningkatan hasil belajar sebesar 0,42 (42%) berada dalam kategori “sedang”. Hasil uji homogenitas dan normalitas menunjukkan data berdistribusi homogen dan normal, maka dilakukan uji-t (two independent sample t-test) pada taraf signifikan 0,05 dengan dengan derajat kebebasan 53, diperoleh Thitung Ttabel, jadi dapat disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan ketrampilan berpikir kritis antara kelompok. Hal ini menunjukkan peningkatan ketrampilan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis angket minat siswa menunjukkan bahwa LKS berbasis masalah yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.Kata Kunci:  LKS berbasis Masalah, Berpikir kritis, Minat belajar.

Abstract

One type of 21st-century skills that needs to be developed is collaboration skills. There were many problems found in the observation. They were student collaboration skills that were lacking in the ability to discuss well, agree with each other; carry out roles, responsibilities and work productively in groups; and there needs to be mutual respect in the lecture process. Efforts to apply and familiarize 21st-century skills, especially in collaboration skills, this research uses the Tandur type of quantum teaching-learning model. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the Tandur type of quantum teaching model on the collaboration skills of STKIP Adzkia students in learning basic science concepts. The type of research used is quasi-experimental research. This research was given different treatment to the two sample classes. This research design is classified as a randomized control group-only design. The results showed that the data were not normally distributed and homogeneous, so the Mann Whitney test was carried out and the probability value was 0.05 with an asymsig value (2 tails) of 0.475, so H0 was accepted. This research concludes that there is no significant effect of the quantum teaching model of the Tandur type on the collaboration skills of STKIP Adzkia students in learning basic science concepts.

Abstract

Direct experience in science learning should improve the student's skill in constructing, compreheding, and applying the concept that has been taught. Student facilitator and explaining learning is one of the cooperative learning models, that improve the students' activeness. This research aims is to find out the implementation of student facilitator and explaining learning model towards students' learning outcome on the blood circulatory system material to the eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 1, Sungai Raya. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent as the control group. The sample of this research consists of two classes which are second eleventh grade science as the experiment class and third eleventh grade science as the control class. The sampling technique used in this research is intact group. The tools of collecting data include the students' learning outcome and a questionnaire sheet to find out the students' responses. The data analysis result shows, the score of the learning outcomes obtained by using student facilitator and explaining learning model is 16.08 higher than the conventional learning which is 14.17. Based on the t-test, it was found that thit ttab, that was 3.13 1.997, which means there was a significance difference between the learning outcome in the post-test average result of the experiment class and control class at 5% degree. The average percentage of students' response which taught by using the student facilitator and explaining learning model is 87.52% which can be classified as very high. This average percentage result of the students' response shows that the implementation of student facilitator and explaining learning model gives positive outcome to students' response on the blood's circulatory system material of the eleventh -grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. The conclusion of the research was the implementation of student facilitator and explaining learning could improve the learning outcome and responses towards the blood circulatory system material for grade XI students

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi Locus of control mahasiswa FKIP Matematika Universitas Samudra. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di FKIP Pendidikan matematika. Metode penelitian yang gunakan adalah survey penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pertanyaan terstruktur yang sama pada setiap orang dimana semua jawaban yang diperoleh peneliti dicatat, diolah dengan SPSS 21, dan dianalisis. Jika Seseorang merasakan adanya hubungan yang erat dikatakan Locus of control internal, sementara locus of control eksternal akan beranggapan bahwa akibat yang diterima berasal dari kesempatan, keberuntungan, nasib, atau campur tangan orang lain, juga mempengaruhi motivasi kuliah, reaksi emosional, dan perilaku  seseorang dalam berhubungan dengan  lingkungannya. Dalam penelitian ini faktor ekternal, variabel yang membentuk faktor ini adalah variabel X13 (mempercayai nasib baik), X11 (faktor teman) X2 (usia dan jenis kelamin) dan X9 (faktor social). Faktor Internal variabel yang membentuk faktor ini adalah X3 (suka bekerja keras), X1 (keluarga) dan X4 (inisiatif tinggi). Sehingga Faktor yang mempengaruhi Locus of control pada mahasiswa pendidikan matematika FKIP Unsam yaitu: faktor internal dan eksternal.
