Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a major health issue among children and often leads to secretion accumulation that interferes with breathing. Chest physiotherapy, particularly massage and clapping techniques, is believed to be effective in clearing the airways. This study aims to examine the physiotherapy management of ARI cases using massage and clapping interventions. Methods: This research used a case series design with a qualitative descriptive approach involving three pediatric subjects (S, L, and M), aged 8–30 months, diagnosed with ARI. Physiotherapy interventions were conducted at the Physiotherapy Unit of Fatmawati Central General Hospital, consisting of massage and clapping administered twice daily for five days. Respiratory status was measured through respiratory rate, cough frequency, and degree of dyspnea using the Modified Respiratory Distress Assessment Scale (MRDAS), recorded before and after each session. Data were analyzed descriptively. Results: All three subjects showed improvement in respiratory status after the intervention. The respiratory rate of subject S decreased from an average of 55 breaths/min to 32 breaths/min, subject L from 60 to 36 breaths/min, and subject M from 48 to 29 breaths/min. Cough frequency also significantly decreased: S from 15 times/5 minutes to 2 times/5 minutes, L from 20 to 3 times/5 minutes, and M from 12 to 1 time/5 minutes. Dyspnea scores (MRDAS) in all subjects decreased to 0 (no dyspnea) by the end of the intervention (S from 5 to 0, L from 6 to 0, and M from 4 to 0). Subjective responses from parents also indicated that the children appeared more comfortable and had improved appetite. Conclusion: Physiotherapy management using massage and clapping interventions is effective in improving respiratory status (reducing respiratory rate, cough frequency, and dyspnea severity) in pediatric ARI cases. Personalized interventions play a crucial role in secretion mobilization and accelerating recovery.

Abstract

This research is behind the lack of optimal development strategy for Rural Tourism Potential by the Pangandaran Regency Tourism and Culture Office. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data sources include primary data from 6 research informants as well as the results of field observations and secondary data from relevant documents, laws, research journals, and other references. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations and documentation as well as data analysis techniques consisting of data reduction, data presentation, conclusions. The results of the study show that the strategy for developing Rural Tourism Potential by the Pangandaran Regency Tourism and Culture Office. This is evidenced by several indicators that are not optimal, including job creation, gender equality in the tourism community, preservation of culture and arts, cultural awareness, cultural education, tourism waste management, concern for conservation, environmental carrying capacity, and participation of local populations. Obstacles are caused by the lack of local human resource capacity, especially in managerial, digital, and creative aspects; infrastructure inequality between tourist villages; lack of digital and cultural literacy among tourism actors, as well as weak cross-sector coordination between agencies, communities, and village governments. Efforts are made to improve training and empowerment, draft community regulations, encourage digital promotion, cooperation with universities and the private sector, and incorporate cross-sector programs such as Eco Tourism and indigenous peoples' protection.

Abstract

Growth and development occur simultaneously. The difference is that growth can be measured, such as how much something exists or how large it is. However, development relates to quality, such as changes in how something functions. This study aims to determine the importance of light for mung bean growth. Qualitative research was used in this study. The study was conducted over 7 days in the PGSD VI D class, room 206, STKIP Al Maksum Langkat. The results of observations of mung bean sprouts over a week revealed that the amount of light they received significantly impacted their growth.

Abstract

Waves are movements that pass through something or space. They carry energy that affects other energies. This study uses experimental methods, which means it is based on experimental research. The aim of this research is to observe the shape and type of transverse waves and longitudinal waves, as well as determine the nature of wave reflection. This research uses an experimental method, which means it is based on experiments. Researchers collect information by observing and recording what is done and seen. T This research was conducted at STKIP Al Maksum Langkat. The results of this experiment show that the length of what the wave is traveling through, whether it's a slinky or a hemp rope, affects how many waves are produced and how long it takes to propagate. Additionally, you can see how the waves bounce back, which is a basic feature of waves.

Abstract

Electricity is essential to our lives, as we would struggle to perform everyday tasks without it. Electricity not only provides us with light, but almost all of our technology requires electricity to function. The purpose of this study was to examine how people understand series and parallel circuits by conducting simple experiments in science education. In this study, we used a descriptive qualitative method by examining series and parallel circuits through simple hands-on activities. This research was conducted at STKIP Al Maksum Langkat. The results showed that static electricity occurs when an electric charge remains stationary. Dynamic electricity occurs when an electric charge moves through a wire. In a series circuit, electricity flows through a single path, so if one part is removed, the entire circuit will be broken.

Abstract

In the public service sector, issuing an apology is essential. Customer service representatives, particularly in public services, are typically tasked with handling client complaints. Therefore, public service institutions require effective apology strategies to address these concerns appropriately. This study aims to explore the most commonly used apology strategies by Telkomsel's customer service personnel. The research focuses on identifying which types of apology approaches are more frequently used in everyday interactions. This study may also contribute to a broader understanding of how public services utilize apology strategies. A qualitative research approach is applied in this investigation. The analysis is based on Trosborg’s (1995) framework of apology strategies. Findings indicate that Telkomsel customer service representatives predominantly use explanations or accounts in 50% of the cases when dealing with customer complaints. This approach is often employed to calm customers and ease emotional tension.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is not merely a condition of permanently decreased renal function, but it also significantly impacts patients’ quality of life. One of the major complications is anemia. Iron deficiency is a primary contributor to anemia in CKD patients, often resulting from reduced erythropoietin production, blood loss during hemodialysis, and inadequate iron intake. This study aims to determine the relationship between serum iron levels (iron in the blood) and hemoglobin levels in stage V chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing regular hemodialysis at Dr. Harjono S. Ponorogo Regional Hospital, using a quantitative descriptive-analytic approach based on secondary data from the hospital's Laboratory Information System (LIS). A total of 24 CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis twice a week during the period of July to December 2024 were included as research subjects. The results showed that all patients experienced anemia. Although most patients had serum iron levels within the normal range, hemoglobin levels remained low. Statistical analysis revealed a moderate correlation between serum iron and hemoglobin levels, with a statistically significant p-value (p < 0.05) in both examinations. A moderate and statistically significant correlation was found between serum iron and hemoglobin levels in stage V CKD patients, indicating that monitoring iron status is important in the management of anemia in chronic kidney disease.

Abstract

This study aims to improve learning outcomes using the Treffinger learning model assisted by video. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design. The sample consisted of classes X-7 and X-12, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through essay-type learning outcome tests and analyzed using a t-test. The results showed a significant difference in learning outcomes between the group using the Treffinger model with video and the group using conventional learning. Therefore, the Treffinger learning model assisted by video has a positive effect on improving students’ learning outcomes.
