Abstract

Welding is the process of joining metals by melting the parent metal and filler metal, either with or without the addition of pressure, to produce a strong and continuous joint. This process is critical in various industrial sectors as the quality of the joint directly affects the overall strength, durability and safety of the structure. Therefore, the choice of welding method and the shape of the seam are crucial factors in determining the success of the joint. This study aims to evaluate the effect of variations in the seam shape (V and X) and welding method on the tensile strength of joints in ST 41 steel. The two welding methods used are Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Metal Inert Gas (MIG). Factors such as corner angle, filler metal melting efficiency, heat penetration, and welding arc stability were analyzed to determine their impact on joint strength. Test results show that X-shaped seams tend to produce joints with higher tensile strength than V-shaped seams, due to the angle of the seam which allows for deeper penetration and more even heat distribution. The MIG method also showed superior results to SMAW in terms of joint consistency and quality. However, there was a practical increase in tensile strength in the combination of X-shape and MIG methods, indicating that geometrical factors and welding techniques remain important considerations in welding results.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine how light intensity affects the growth of mung bean plants (Vigna radiata) by comparing three different lighting conditions: plants exposed to direct sunlight, plants kept in a dimly lit indoor environment, and plants placed inside a closed cardboard box with no light exposure at all. The research method used was direct observation over a period of seven days, during which the physical condition and stem height of the plants were recorded daily. The results showed that plants grown indoors without direct sunlight grew more slowly and had paler leaves. Meanwhile, the plants that received no light at all exhibited signs of etiolation, characterized by rapid but weak stem elongation and pale leaf color. These findings confirm that light is a crucial factor in the photosynthesis process and significantly influences plant growth quality. This study reinforces the theory that plant height alone is not a reliable indicator of successful growth; stem strength and leaf color must also be considered. The results of this research are expected to serve as a valuable learning experience for students and the general public regarding the importance of light exposure in plant cultivation.

Abstract

The problem in this research is to determine the effect of the Group Investigation learning model using the Know Want to Know Learned (KWL) method on student learning outcomes in economics subjects. This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes at MA Subulul Huda Darma as indicated by the low average student scores. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study was all 46 class X students, using a saturated sampling technique to determine the sample. The instrument used is a multiple choice test which has been tested for validity, reliability, level of difficulty and distinguishing power. Data analysis was carried out using paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain calculation. The research results showed that there was a significant increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class which used the Group Investigation learning model with the Know Want to Know Learned (KWL) method compared to the control class which used the conventional learning model. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the Group Investigation learning model with the Know Want to Know Learned (KWL) method has a positive effect in improving student learning outcomes in economics subjects.

Abstract

Nosocomial infections are a serious concern in healthcare services, particularly among postoperative patients. One of the main pathogens responsible for nosocomial infections is Staphylococcus aureus, especially strains resistant to the antibiotic methicillin (MRSA). MRSA infections can worsen patient conditions, prolong hospital stays, and increase medical costs.This study aims to analyze the presence of MRSA bacteria in pus samples from nosocomial infections in postoperative patients and to determine its prevalence at General Hospital.This research employed a descriptive-analytic observational method using both primary and secondary data from postoperative patients with nosocomial infections. Pus samples were cultured and identified through Gram staining, catalase test, coagulase test, biochemical tests, and antibiotic susceptibility testing using the Microbiology Analyzer TDR-300B Mindray. The study was conducted from August to November 2024.From 41 pus samples collected from postoperative patients with nosocomial infections, 6 samples tested positive for MRSA, indicating a prevalence of 14.6%. Antibiotic susceptibility tests showed resistance patterns to several beta-lactam antibiotic classes.

Abstract

Citrus limon, also known locally as lemon, is a member of the Rutaceae family and is often grown in South Asian countries. Lemons are widely recognized as a horticultural commodity and offer a wider variety of uses than other citrus fruits. Lemons offer significant potential and represent a promising market opportunity for intensive cultivation. Availability of high-quality seedlings in sufficient quantities, within a relatively short timeframe, and at affordable prices are crucial initial steps to ensure success in this lemon cultivation endeavor. One method of vegetative propagation that can be applied to lemon plants is grafting.

Abstract

Destinasi wisata menjadi aktivitas rutin bagi seluruh masyarakat terlebih lagi di penghujung tahun, namun pemilihan jalur transportasi darat antarkota memerlukan efisiensi tinggi terlebih lagi dijalur darat, baik dari segi waktu tempuh maupun penggunaan sumber daya. Algoritma A* (A-Star) merupakan salah satu algoritma pencarian jalur (pathfinding) yang banyak digunakan dalam sistem navigasi karena menggabungkan prinsip optimalitas dan efisiensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan algoritma A* guna menentukan rute terpendek dari Kota Bandar Lampung menuju Kota Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma A* berhasil menemukan rute optimal dengan waktu komputasi yang singkat dan efisiensi dalam jumlah simpul yang dilalui. Dimana studi ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan sistem informasi geografis,aplikasi navigasi berbasis kecerdasan buatan.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the causes of the non-optimal implementation of the SIMPELDESA application as an innovation in the implementation of public services by the government of Sumberjaya Village, Cihaurbeuti District, Ciamis Regency. This study uses a qualitative research design. The primary data source was obtained through observation and interviews with seven informants. Secondary data is obtained from documents, laws, and journals that have relevance to the topic of research. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique uses triangulation techniques consisting of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the implementation of SIMPELDESA as a public service innovation in Sumberjaya village is not optimal. This is evidenced by two indicators that are not optimal, namely Complexity, and Compability. The obstacles that occur are the lack of knowledge, understanding, internet infrastructure, socialization, and education to the community that has not reached the community completely. Efforts to overcome these obstacles are conducting training for village officials, community socialization, hybrid-based services, strengthening digital literacy, improving infrastructure, and developing the SIMPELDESA application to be more efficient, transparent, and accountable.

Abstract

This practicum aims to identify and recognize the macronutrient content of carbohydrates, protein, glucose, and fat in various foods commonly consumed daily. This activity utilizes several simple tests using chemical reagents, such as Lugol's solution for carbohydrates, Benedict's solution for glucose, Biuret solution for protein, and oil paper for fat detection. Ten food items were tested, including bananas, bread, tempeh, tofu, eggs, fish, cheese, and green vegetables. Observations showed that each item has a different nutritional content. For example, carbohydrates are found in bananas and bread, protein in tempeh and eggs, glucose in bananas and bread, and fat in cheese and chicken. This practicum not only provides hands-on experience in conducting simple experiments but also serves as an effective learning tool for elementary school science. Through this activity, students can more easily understand the importance of nutritional content in food and practice observation skills and scientific thinking from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the comparative performance of series and parallel electrical circuits through a practical activity using a miniature house as a learning tool for basic science. The practical activity is designed to help students understand basic electrical concepts in a contextual and concrete manner. The tools used in this activity include a small flashlight, batteries, a mini switch, wires, insulation, and supporting materials such as cardboard to design the miniature house. Students build two types of circuits—series and parallel—and then observe the characteristics of each, such as the number of lights lit, the brightness of the light, and the impact of removing one component in the system. The observations indicate that the series circuit has a high degree of interdependence between components, where the failure of one light causes the entire system to shut down. Conversely, the parallel circuit exhibits greater stability, as each light remains lit even if one is removed, providing brighter lighting. This practical demonstrates that the use of a miniature house not only engages students but is also effective in explaining basic electrical concepts through hands-on experience. Therefore, the application of a simple experiment-based learning model like this is recommended to improve students' understanding of basic science, particularly electricity.

Abstract

This qualitative case study at MA Siti Fatimah Pandaan investigates how Qur'an reading habituation fosters Islamic character in students, addressing prevalent moral issues among Indonesian youth. The research posits that Islamic education, particularly through Qur'an reading, shapes character based on faith, Islamic law, and noble morals.Data gathered via observation, interviews, and documentation reveal that daily morning Qur'an reading sessions, held after Duha prayer and before classes, are guided by class teachers. This practice not only enhances students' Qur'an reading proficiency (including tajweed) but also significantly develops Islamic character. Positive outcomes include improved discipline, responsibility, and togetherness, alongside heightened spiritual awareness and moral conduct. The habituation helps students overcome reluctance to learn recitation and fosters a deeper connection to the Qur'an as a life guide. In conclusion, implementing Qur'an reading habituation at MA Siti Fatimah Pandaan effectively instills Islamic character, notably discipline, responsibility, and togetherness, while also boosting reading skills. The study recommends program continuation, student internalization of Qur'anic values, and its use as a future research reference.
