Abstract

This study aims to examine the long-term relationship and direction of causality between renewable energy, carbon emissions, and labor force on economic growth in 17 developing countries in Asia, with analysis years from 1990 to 2021. The main problem in this study is to identify the main factors, especially those related to environmental aspects such as renewable energy and carbon emissions, and classical economic factors, namely labor, which are thought to have a long-term impact on economic growth in developing countries in Asia. The purpose of this study is to examine the long-term relationship between variables and to see the direction of causality they have. The research method used is the Panel Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS) and Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS). The results show that only carbon emission and labor force variables have a positive impact in the long run. Meanwhile, renewable energy has no long-term impact on economic growth. Then the direction of causality shows that carbon emission and labor force variables have a two-way causality on economic growth, while renewable energy only has one direction of causality. This study is expected to provide empirical evidence regarding the relationship between energy, the environment, and the economy in developing countries in Asia. The government hopes to accelerate the transition to renewable energy, thereby reducing carbon emissions in developing countries for sustainable economic development.

Abstract

Effective financial management is essential for ensuring the optimal operation of educational institutions, including the Al Luqmaniyyah Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. Traditional manual financial administration often leads to delayed reporting, inaccurate record-keeping, and limited accountability. To address these challenges, this study emphasizes the digitalization of payment processes through the development of a web-based digital payment information system that supports structured student billing management, including scheduled and monthly bills, as well as fully digitized payment transactions. The system was developed using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Waterfall model, employing Laravel version 11 and a MySQL database. It integrates multi-role authentication features using the Spatie Laravel Permission package to ensure secure and differentiated access. System validation was conducted through Black Box Testing with the Equivalence Partitioning technique, focusing on verifying functional correctness across core modules such as billing management, payment processing, and role-based access control. The testing process was carried out after system implementation in a production environment to ensure that application behavior aligned with predefined functional requirements. The results indicate that all system modules function in accordance with the specified design, achieving full functional validation. The digitalization of payment processes significantly simplifies financial transaction recording, minimizes administrative errors, and enhances transparency for both administrators and students. This study highlights the importance of payment digitalization in modernizing financial services in Islamic boarding schools and is expected to serve as a reference for similar system development initiatives in other pesantren environments.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the financial health of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk for the quarterly period of 2023–2025 using three analytical approaches: the Altman Z-Score, financial ratios, and cash flow analysis. This research employs a descriptive quantitative method using secondary data derived from quarterly financial statements. The Altman Z-Score model is applied to measure the level of financial distress, while liquidity, solvency, and activity ratios are used to identify financial conditions from multiple perspectives. Cash flow analysis is conducted to observe the company’s ability to generate cash from operating activities as well as its investment and financing requirements. The results indicate that the Altman Z-Score values of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk during the study period were mostly within the financial distress zone, although some quarters approached or entered the grey zone. Financial ratios support these findings, showing low liquidity, high solvency pressure caused by significant liabilities and negative equity, and low asset efficiency despite seasonal improvements. Meanwhile, cash flow analysis reveals a positive trend in operating cash flows beginning in mid-2023, indicating that the company’s core activities are recovering. Overall, the financial condition of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk remains under structural pressure, but demonstrates considerable operational improvement in the medium term.

Abstract

This study investigates at the important elements that impact consumers' purchasing decisions for Instaperfect, a high-end local cosmetic company in Indonesia. The study analyzes the issue of contradictory past findings on the impact of e-WOM, perceived value, and consumer trust on purchase decisions, notably in the luxury cosmetics category. The goal of this study is to look at how these three variables influence consumer decisions at the same time, utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as a framework. An online questionnaire was used to collect data from 231 members of the OHMYBEAUTYBANK community, using a quantitative research approach. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) was used to evaluate the measurement model and the structural connections among variables. The findings reveal that e-WOM does not significantly influence purchase decisions for Instaperfect cosmetics. In contrast, perceived value and consumer trust have positive and significant effects on purchase decisions, indicating that consumers tend to prioritize product benefits, worthiness relative to price, and brand reliability over online reviews. These results suggest that perceived value and trust are more dominant drivers of consumer behavior in the premium cosmetics category. The study contributes by providing empirical evidence on TPB-based factors influencing cosmetic purchase decisions within Indonesian premium local brands and by involving a targeted beauty community as the research sample. Practically, the findings suggest that brands should strengthen product value and consumer trust through quality consistency, transparent communication, and a solid brand identity. Future research may broaden the sample and explore additional variables such as brand image, perceived quality, or brand experience to deepen insights into consumer behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of green entrepreneurship in strengthening the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in coastal areas through organic waste-based product innovation and the utilization of digital marketing platforms. The research background arises from the growing urgency for sustainable business transformation within the MSME sector, which simultaneously faces environmental, social, and economic pressures. This study employs a quantitative descriptive approach by collecting primary data through questionnaires from 50 coastal MSME actors in Kendari. The data were analyzed using statistical methods to examine the influence of innovative waste utilization, understanding of green entrepreneurship, and digital marketing adoption on the performance and sustainability of MSMEs. The results show that innovative use of organic waste positively impacts the economic value and environmental responsibility of MSMEs, while the integration of digital marketing enhances their market reach and business efficiency. These findings highlight that aligning ecological innovation with digital capabilities significantly contributes to the development of a resilient and sustainable local economy. The main contribution of this study lies in its empirical evidence that connects green entrepreneurship and digital transformation as key drivers of circular economy-based economic empowerment in coastal regions. The novelty of this research lies in the combination of two strategic approaches waste-based innovation and digital marketing in one integrative model to increase the sustainable competitiveness of coastal MSMEs.

Abstract

Agriculture remains a vital sector supporting the livelihoods of rural communities in Desa Lara, East Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi Province; however, most farmers still rely on selling raw produce, resulting in low added value and economic vulnerability. This study aims to develop an innovation-based agropreneurship model that transforms agricultural waste—such as rice straw, corn stalks, and peanut shells—into value-added products to enhance farmers’ income and promote sustainable rural economies. Using a quantitative experimental design, data were collected through questionnaires from 50 micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) involved in agricultural activities. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, including t-tests and regression, were employed to evaluate the impact of innovation adoption. The results reveal significant improvements in income, innovation capability, and environmental awareness among participants following the implementation of the agropreneurship model. Agricultural waste transformation practices led to an average income increase of 76% and a 46% reduction in open burning, supporting both economic resilience and ecological sustainability. The findings highlight that local innovation and simple technology can effectively strengthen circular economy practices and rural entrepreneurship. This study contributes theoretically by reinforcing the role of agropreneurship in sustainable development and practically by offering a replicable model for community-based innovation and rural economic empowerment.

Abstract

This study explores the dynamics of power relations and employee silence within a higher education institution in Riau, Indonesia, deeply rooted in Malay cultural values. While modern organizations aim for sustainable transformation through meritocracy, local cultural values such as "segan" (reluctance/respect), "adab" (manners), and loyalty create a complex symbolic power structure. Using a qualitative interpretative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with junior and senior lecturers. The findings reveal that power operates symbolically rather than coercively. Employee silence is not merely passive submission but a strategic "prosocial silence" to maintain collective harmony and respect senior authority. However, this cultural silence poses challenges to organizational transformation by inhibiting critical feedback and creating "defensive silence" among junior staff. The study contributes to the Human Capital Management literature by highlighting how local wisdom can be negotiated to balance cultural harmony with the demands of professional organizational transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Early Warning System (EWS) in predicting bankruptcy at Bank Perkreditan Rakyat (BPR). The EWS is viewed as an early detection mechanism capable of identifying financial and non-financial indicators that could potentially lead to bankruptcy risk. This study uses historical BPR data to develop an EWS-based prediction model. This study uses a quantitative approach and empirical methodology. The quantitative approach was chosen because it allows for objective measurement of financial variables and testing of relationships between variables using statistical techniques in SEMPLS. The population in this study is all BPR operating in the East Kalimantan region and officially registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), with an observation period starting from 2019 to 2025. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of implementing an EWS as an effective risk management tool for rural banks (BPRs) and providing input to regulators in strengthening the banking supervisory system. Thus, the EWS serves not only as an early warning system but also as a strategic instrument in maintaining the stability and sustainability of BPRs amidst local and national economic dynamics.

Abstract

The development of digital services in the transportation sector requires improvements in application quality to support user experience. This study aims to analyze the influence of perceived ease of use, e-service quality, and customer experience on customer satisfaction among users of the KAI Access application. A quantitative approach was used with a survey method through a questionnaire distributed to 85 respondents who were users of the application. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that all variables, namely perceived ease of use, e-service quality, and customer experience, have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction. Among the three, customer experience is the variable that has the greatest influence, indicating that user satisfaction is determined more by the holistic experience while using the application than by other technical aspects. E-service quality also plays an important role through system reliability, transaction security, and the accuracy of the information provided, while perceived ease of use has a smaller but still significant effect. These findings confirm that improving user experience and digital service quality should be prioritized in the development of digital transportation applications to increase user satisfaction and loyalty. This research addresses the limited attention given to post-usage behavior in digital transportation applications and offers an empirical contribution by applying Expectancy Disconfirmation Theory to explain customer satisfaction through perceived ease of use, e-service quality, and customer experience.
